New Nav mod (Updated Mar 23, 2010) (Now 3.0 version)
mr_cs replied to BorisM's topic in Completed Mods/Themes
try attached (for ezrider 8.0) Thanks very much, this works very well and am now testing the spud file that I have created. Colin Working fine, but I have another question - sorry! When a spud file is created, under type does it hold a name e.g. RPSPost or does it hold the spud number e.g. 14. The reason I ask is I would like to change the spreadsheet so that it is more suitable to the UK. Thanks for all your help. Colin -

Stanislavovich Thanks - I think I understand! With the AVIC I am using a hacked EZRIDER.exe file. Do you think that the same failure to work with txt files will apply? If I tried it, would the upload simply fail or do I risk causing other problems? Also, when manually updating through the cursor menu, do you know what file is being edited or created. I am thinking that this might be done in bulk. Finally have you come across a spud file creator that allows the advanced cameras to be accepted, the one I have obtained does not. I am really grateful for all your help. Coli -

In this mod, does anyone know which variable can be used to determine whether in mph or kph? Thanks Colin -
For those who get bored with the AVIC converting a txt file to a spud file might find this utility useful. I found it on another forum. spudtxt.rar Colin

In this mod how do you add advanced cameras? Does this have to be individually or can it be done in bulk via the spud file. If yes, can you put two or more spud files, with different names of course, in the speedcam folder, so that the AVIC will read each of them? Thanks Colin -
I tried this but it didn't work. I wonder if the , might be in the wrong place i.e. else_runif vSCAudibleAlert 3, vCurrentSpeedcamCategory 0 'PLAYSOUND "Mobile_Camera"' rather than else_runif vSCAudibleAlert 3 ,vCurrentSpeedcamCategory 0 'PLAYSOUND "Mobile_Camera"' As you will gather I am a real novice, who is trying to learn to do things myself, rather than just copy what others have done. Thanks Colin

I am trying to PLAYSOUND if two conditions are satisfied. I suspect that I have my ' in the wrong place. else_runif vSCAudibleAlert 3 'runif vCurrentSpeedcamCategory 0 'PLAYSOUND "Mobile_Camera"'' Can anyone help me to put it right. Thanks Colin

I am still having problems with changing speed cam warning sounds. The following code works giving me an audible warning when using Reminder Speedcam Sound scripts ;****************************************************** ..... I then have tried to replace this with Speedcam Sound scripts ;****************************************************** ..... This doesn't work and as I have no previous experience of such script writing I would appreciate any help in getting it to work. Thanks Colin -

I think I understand what you mean, but cannot find this in your mod, so as to fade the two buttons on the navigation screen. Can you tell me where it is? I am very grateful for your help and advice. Colin -

Sorry all, but another question. I have tried to make the speedcam warnings more understandable than the various 'beeps'. I thought I had worked out that the beeps were generated from the following sequence of script and made changes so as to call alternative voice files. The alternative files are not important as it is just for testing purposes. ;****************************************************** ; Speedcam Sound scripts ;****************************************************** The problem is that it doesn't work as I still have what I think are the original -

Have loaded and now await a test on Monday when I travel to Peterborough. However a quick question. In the past I have replaced both 2d and 3d cars with vehicle images. With the new mod the 3d version appears to work ok but in 2d it does not, I still have the original arrows! I have tried replacing both daycar and daycar_big but this doesn't seem to work. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks Colin -
I really do understand the problems caused by IT crashes and don't envy you trying to put it back. Please don't think I am trying to be clever but I think that the OS emulation on the WIKI board has a " missing from the beginning of the batch file command. Well thats the only way I could get it to work! Keep up the good work. Colin

Thanks for responding. OK fair point, although I have previously read Boris' post and all subsequent posts on that thread. My system gives a spoken warning when approaching a speed camera, saying the type of speed camera and the speed limit, e.g. 'red light camera ahead 30 miles per hour'. These I copied from GTiMatt's mad although I believe that there are other versions. My question is whether anyone has integrated this type of audible warning into this new mod. Thanks Colin -

I posted a question about this mod last night (UK time) and the forum crashed five minutes later. Should I take this personally!!!!!! My question was: This new skin looks very intersting but does not appear to have audible speedcam warnings. My current warnimngs are based on GTiMatt's script, has any one upgraded this new mod to include such audible warnings? Thanks Colin -
I keep my client's destination details on my SD Card in a category called Clients. It would be great if on my navigation screen I had a shortcut button that went straight to either Destination - USB/SD or even better to Clients on the SD Card. I have copied modder's shortcut buttons to history, favorites etc which are of course on the Destination screen, but cannot see anyone who has done the SD/USB shortcut button. Does anyone know if it is on the forum or is possible? Thanks Colin

Have now ammended the size of the 3d car by making the following changes to sys.txt [map] 3dcarsizemin=1750 3dcarsizemax=2500 3dcarsizemul=15000 ;3dcarsizemin=3500 ;3dcarsizemax=5000 ;3dcarsizemul=30000 Will now test tomorrow to see if there are any problems. Colin

I have sort of answered my own question. By loading the same car files but with the original names i.e. 216 in the same folder, it worked and even tilted. However the car is a bloated shape, so back to the drawing board either to find an alternative mdl file of the correct size, or a way to edit the mdl file. Colin
