  1. I ran into a bit of problem when I first installed my laptop. I had to manually turn on the laptop each time I got into my car. So, I had to figure out how to fix the problem. So essentially I had to reroute the power button on my laptop to dash. I went to Radio Shack and got a basic push button power switch. I then ran two wires from the push button to the laptop. I soldered the wires into the board where the power switch is located. This definitely has helped out tremendously. FYI...I'm working on to rerouting my front AV input to a rear AV input. I saw this link on youtube and
  2. Follow the instructions and it will work perfectly. I would read thru the entire thread just for troubleshooting purposes. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25751

How do you post pictures on here. I took some and would like to share them.
  5. I have read about many different hacks, modifications, and bypass for the 700; I tried many of them. I was more concerned with the system bypass then realize the capability of my 700. I read where people were turning their units into carputers and thought I give it a spin because I get into things like that. But the more I scour the forum, I saw that more people had questions than answers. I think I really was more afraid of something bad happening to unit than anything else. Anyways, I had a laptop that the screen broke on and I just decided to put it in my vehicle. The reason, is th
  6. No, I can not use the touchscreen functions but the resolution is very good. I'm going to take pictures and I think everyone will enjoy them. I think the unit is better serve if you are able to surf the internet in your car.
  7. Video works fines as long as you keep your video viewing size below 620x430.
  8. There is a small free program that I got from www.download.com and it works great. It's really a video converter for my iPod, but it seems to work fine. I play all my videos in mp4 format and they run fine.
  9. Lets see.... car pc: $200 pc to tv converter(usb powered): $40 a/v plug: $9.00
  10. Essentially what I did, was turn my f700bt into a monitor. I purchased a mini computer, a usb powered pc to tv converter, and a simply power inverter from walmart. I mounted the computer then ran a VGA cord from the computer to the pc/tv converter, and finally ran a Video cord from the converter to the f700bt unit. Now there are two ways to connect the video: 1) plug the video into the line for your backup camera (which I did) 2.) get a signal splitter for AV1 if you are using an IPOD. Now when you are going to use the IPOD you must put the AV1 on the IPOD setting and when you will be usin
  11. I bought a carputer for my vehicle. I was going to get rid of my 700 until I figure out how to use it along with my F700bt system.
