  1. I put one in an 04 F250, I think you have the same dash. The factory radio was not quite double din so required a little triming of the dash opening and a metra 99-5805. Like you I wasn't thrilled with the Metra kit, you might try the pioneer kit ADTVA133, they are about $40 on Amazon
  2. In the hunt for an AVIC - Where are these promo codes being published?
  3. Sadly my F700bt was stolen, I am looking to replace it but it sounds like Pioneer took a big step backwards with their navigation on the X series...so...the question is should I find a used F700BT/F900BT or go with the X920BT/X930BT??
  4. Nice, I guess I should read up on what I install, I thought what I installed was only removing the warning messages
  5. I installed this and a couple of other mods, compass delete route, mute button and disable navi warnings. For some reason when i go into system information to view the map version it shows a bunch of diagnostic options including the option to launch windows explorer? Any advice appreciated?
  6. Thanks, so it sounds like this upgrade is worthwhile on top of the 3.0 update? This download is a joke...
  7. What maps came with the 3.0 upgrade if any? Has anyone noticed improvement over the 3.0 maps?
  8. based on everything I read I decided to go the IPOD route, I had a small 4 gb SD card and found the performance to terrrible particularly at startup and when changing between folders etc. I got a 30gb IPOD on buy.com for $99 shipped....that is pretty tough to beat considering I would have spent at least $50 on a similar size SD or USB drive.
  9. Thanks, I got it in The unit had to be mounted much more recessed than I had hoped, this is because the trim bezel did not fit the radio well and with the metra kit on the unit it was far too wide for the opening unless I had the side brackets sticking out about .5" beyond the front of the radio. The kit does not work great on this application, it would probably have fit much nicer with the pioneer double din sleeve and trim bezel. I might change to the pioneer kit one of these days... Thanks again
  10. N-S-E-W - man...chill, who pissed in you cheerios? If you don’t want to read and respond don’t, go back to your Judge Judy...baby Jesus
  11. I found the metra 99-5805 kit but it did not come with a rear clip and the f700bt will not fit through the opening of the trim bezel provided with the kit. Am I missing something here or is the metra 99-5805 not fit the Avic f700bt in a 2004 F250? Please hel the install is supposed to get done tomorrow...
  12. have you tried any video? What size and brand USB are you using?
  13. I am looking to get either a 16GB SDHC card or a 16GB USB flash drive (or larger) to be used exclusively with my F700BT for video and music. The USB flash drive has the advantage of easily being transported on a key chain or some such and easily being connected to any PC. The draw back of the USB drive to me is that it is going to be a little more of a pain to connect, I will have to find a clever spot to route the USB input cable and place the thumb drive. Any suggestions in terms of performance or other advantages of one over the other?
  14. I can't locate the metra 99-5805, can someone let me know of other kits that will work on an 04 F250? I would like something that I can find local like at a walmart or bestbuy etc. scosche?
  15. Very useful indeed. What type of dash kit did you use (brand and model). I am putting the F series in my 04 F250 - have read a ton of threads on it stating to use the Metra 99-5805 but that is hard to find without ordering online. there are some similar scosche kits at wally world but I am not sure they will fit as nice. Do you have pictures of the finished product?
