  1. use 7zip, but do not unzip: just open the archive, and edit in place. After saving the edited file, 7zip will ask you if you want to update the zip with the saved version. for now, you will need to get your backed up DATA.ZIP, and start working from that one. Weo
  2. BT = BlueTooth bear in mind that by "other" I mean "not the one you are using right now". Basically if you have 3.3, you should go to 2.9, and vice versa... Weo
  3. All, I own a F900BT (upgraded to 3.01). In the spec it said it also uses a gyro sensor for when the GPS signal is lost. However on several occasions when driving through a tunnel, the Red Arrow (which I belive to be me ) just continues straight ahead. Has anyone figured out how to verify the internal sensor(s)? I found one post that on the F500 there is a 3D hardware menu for doing this, but I haven't come accross any menu like that on my unit. thanks Weo
  4. use the other BT firmware level than the one you are using right now. Weo
  5. it should do this automagically. However, I never got mine to work like this. I'm doing this via testmode now. Anyway, the POICON speedcams are far from accurate. Try googling for a (free) speedcam.txt, copy that to the appropriate folder, and the AVIC will convert it to a SPUD file. Weo
  6. guyz, just a question: did anyone notice there are actually 2 data.zip in the APL2 folder I posted? I was browsing through my unit and found this out. One is in \My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo, and the other one is one level below, in CONTENT. Of course this could have to do with an old mod I did in 2.x, because there is an info.txt inside with a reference to Yuri theme. But I just wanted to make sure... Weo
  7. done ...but brianF already noticed
  8. guyz, please do not try to get it yet: 16*20min is a long time. The first 100M file is nearly finished. 5I should not have announced it yet: this will only be done tomorrow!) Yes, I did upload to turboss.com. 7z is a open source software, able to write 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR. It can read ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, DEB, DMG, HFS, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MSI, NSIS, RAR, RPM, UDF, WIM, XAR and Z. just check out http://www.7-zip.org/ weo btw: how did you guys unpack image.res and data.zip if you do not know 7zip???
  9. bad news: I keep getting timeouts when uploading I have now split the 7Z in 100M fragments, and am uploading one at the time, but this could take some time. I have 16 fragments, each taking 20 minutes according to winscp... (I only have 512kbps upload) can you make sure nobody is locking the files in between?
  10. uploading now - in EUf900BT will be finished in 5' (if all goes well)
  11. All I am in the same situation as our Dutch friend: free upgrade to 3.010. I have made a full backup, but no place to store it online. Does anybody have some room to spare? Weo
  12. of course you could also use Outlook as your Phonebook DB editor http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=171817#p171817 (hint hint)

  14. Hi MustangAvic, glad to see somebody is interested in this code. I developed this using Outlook2007 and Vista, but there should be no reason why this does not work under XP/OL2003. A quick check on such a machine did reveal a quirk: importing the file creates another module, which then can not be "executed". OL2007 also defined a generic Folder type, which in OL2003 needs to be replaced by MAPIFolder So I suggest the following: [*:2pzctsjy]start Outlook [*:2pzctsjy]open VBA editor by hitting Alt-F11 [*:2pzctsjy]copy/paste the code from the cls file in the module ThisOutlookS
  15. All, the 2.3 testmode relies on mortscript 4.2. So I edited the CopyTool.mscr script file to emulate the MiTACAP folder functionality. here goes: Run( "\Windows\explorer.exe" ) CreateShortcut("\Windows\Desktop\Total Commander.lnk","\Storage Card\Testmode\Utils\cecmd.exe") #CreateShortcut("\Windows\Desktop\Tascal RegEdit.lnk","\Storage Card\Testmode\Utils\TRE.exe") #CreateShortcut("\Windows\Desktop\WR-Tools ResInfo.lnk","\Storage Card\Testmode\Utils\ResInfo.exe") #CreateShortcut("\Windows\Desktop\DiskRW.lnk","\Storage Card\Testmode\Utils\DiskRW.exe") CreateShortcut("\Windows\Des
  16. All, just wanted to let you know this mod works on the new 3.005 firmware. I just added the 2 lines in the appropriate ui, and added the 2 icons, I did not use the ui in the zip file, because there are some more or less differences with 2.x 3.010 has the same ui, so I am fairly confident this will work too. Weo
  17. have to correct myself, I made a mistake in the mobile and work index (dwType 3 = mobile!). So to all who already downloaded this code, please update...
  18. I think I understand what is going on. The thing is: you will have to copy the file FROM your avic TO your PC, edit it over there, and then copy it back to the AVIC. 1/ boot into test mode 2/ go to flash disk \APL2\iGo - there you'll find the actual sys.txt 3/ copy that to your Storage Card, and shut down 4/ take the SD card to your PC, and edit sys.txt. take a (mental) note of the timestamp 5/ go to the AVIC again, and boot again into test mode 6/ copy the NEW sys.txt to your AVIC (verify with the time stamp you noted) The second copy process can be "automatigicized" by putting t
  19. all, had much of the same problems you guys were having. You might want to check out this post: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25308 weo
  20. Apparently the forum did not like the CLS extension, so I added an extra ".txt" Take that off, and you'll be fine sorry about that weo as per below remark, I had to make some amendments to allow for Outlook2003. Do not try to import the file, as this will not be "executable", go for Copy/Paste instead Weo export-phonebook.txt
  21. All, love this forum, so I decided to do something back. I own a HTC Touch, with a problem for the phonebook: it does not recognize the number properties (mobile, home, work, ...). I know it is possible to copy the Phonebook db from the Avic, edit it via SQLite (love the FireFox extension, btw) and then back to the Avic. But that is tedious. So I wrote a small Outlook macro to do this for me: it loops through all my outlook contacts (synced with Touch), and writes a SQL script. Optionally it also executes this script and writes the actual DB file in one go. How does it work: for ev
