  1. is the setting set to automatic? It is set to automatic. I just installed your V3, which is fantastic BTW, so i'm gonna have to see if it works again, but if you have any other ideas, that would be great.
  2. Hey IDT, Do you know why my NAV does not automatically switch to the night map when it becomes night? I always have to press your button manually. Is it because of your mod or is it just my unit?
  3. Ok so I finally got to really test the new teleatlas 2009.2 maps with a long drive today. An improvement is that it no longer displays King's Highway, instead, it shows the correct name: Macdonald-Cartier Highway 401. I assume it also fixes all other major Canadian highways as well. However, the speed limit on the highway seems to be messed up now. With the 3.0 maps, it displayed correctly with 100KM, but now it shows 161KM. This is 401WB. It also showed 146 instead of 90 on the DVP. Is there anyway to fix this?
  4. sorry to say but i don't have the knowledge to do that that's why i'm kinda satisfied the the fake screen off button, Not a problem IDT. But can please you tell me where I can edit so that I can remove the time when it is off? Whenever you are free, I know you are a very busy person. Thanks. look for this layer on your navigatemap_800_480.ui and comment out the time text in there ui_blankscreen Thanks again!
  5. Thanks for your reply. I think you may have posted this same solution in another thread that I read. I assume from your trials with other cables, that your problem lie in the FEMALE A/V INPUT RCA connectors, rather than in the Pioneer iPod cable. Do you think it would have been equally effective for you to replace the female A/V INPUT RCA connectors with better ones, as opposed to severing and splicing to those wires directly? Just curious, because if I have the same issue (which I probably do), I would prefer this route. I read on the forums that other users tried replacing the harne

  7. You will probably have the same connection problems with the apple cable. I have the 120 gb ipod too and I went thru 3 different apple cables with the intermittent connection issues as well. Only the pioneer cable would have a 99% connection rate, but it did have the speaker channel problem, which is related to its crappy RCA connectors, so I hardwired them to the AVIC and I have never had a problem since.
  8. Hey IDT, I was just wondering if you knew how to change the screen off button you have now to make it actually shut the screen off like in the system settings of the unit. I ask because sometimes when I am about to park in a shady area at night, I like to shut off the screen of my unit so no one sees that I have a NAV unit, but with your screen off mod it still shows some backlight, so i'm hoping there is a way to recode this button. Many thanks if you can help or not.
  9. Using the new Teleatlas 2009.2 maps in Toronto, Canada... I still notice some inaccuracies in the turn restrictions. Can anyone report on any improvement for the NAVTEQ maps?
  10. I too would also love to have a thread with some more information regarding this EZrider.
  11. Hey man don't worry about it. Take all the time you need and get fully rested, your life and health comes first. What you're doing here is all just a huge favour for us, and we are all very grateful for your hard work. Without you, our units wouldn't be worth what they are now. Take care, don't stress out, and hope to see you back feeling better.
  12. I'm wondering if this is why Pioneer has added the Apple authenitcation chip to the new X-Series.
  13. Click the pin in in 2d map mode and then delete it the same way you added it.
  14. Hey IDT, Thank you very much for the mod, I am really enjoying it. I was just wondering if you could let me know how to move the compass down just a little bit, because my HU is at an angle where it is kinda hard to see the compass. And is it possible for me to modify it to be a bit larger? My eyes are very weak Also, maybe it's just me but somehow I can't seem to get that pretty sky background going. It's just a flat sky blue colour. Is there a reason why? I can clearly see the cloud picture files in the zip. Thanks again.
  15. Hey, thanks so much for helping us out with the files! Just a small question though, what are the other two files (AV, Video) for? I didn't seem to see them in the original upload from the creator. EDIT: Nevermind, I looked at your previous posts and realized it's for the reverse camera warning message. Everything works great, no more NAV warning messages. Thank you all for your wonderful work!
  16. Hi, What are the arrow file names that need to be replaced? There are multiple files. Thanks for your help. *Edit* Nevermind, was looking in the wrong folder.
  17. Hi, When you have time, can you please upload the files again. It seems to have become corrupted. Possibly when the AVIC database crashed. Also, can you tell me where to add the file? Many thanks for your hardwork!
  18. Don't you actually have to pay to insure the NAV system in order to get coverage once it's stolen?
  19. I don't think clicking the icon and getting it's info is possible, unless maybe someone can mod it. However, what you can do is click on the Map Confirmation Screen button (under the 3D/2D map button) and then click on the Info button, which should then give you a list of all the POIs in your current position.
  20. "Clip the RCA connections and hardwire it". Really, I would like to see pictures of that. I have switched to my third iPod cable for the RCA hook-ups. I using a Monster cable now, I'm going on 3 days without the audio dropping to one channel. I'll keep my fingers crossed. This is the cable I'm currently using. Monster iTV Link TV-out AV Cable for iPod http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21221 I'm curious as to how you hooked that up. In the pictures, it doesn't seem to have a USB connector. How is the sound quality with this cable?
  21. After replacing the cables several times with apple, rocketfish and pioneer, along with trying every available solution found on this forum, I also finally gave up and decided to hardwire the RCA connectors together, using pioneer's cable. I believe the sound quality seemed to improve a bit as well, but I'll have to do more listening to really tell. I only did it today as well. What I did was cut off the RCA connectors, soldered the wires together and then shrink wrapped it. Oh and FYI, the only problems I had with the apple cable was that it had the problem of not being able to connect to
  22. Just wanted to report back and say that the problem has returned. Damn you pioneer for your crappy cable!!
  23. wow... $30.00 more than US. What a rip!
  24. ditto... that's how i got mine working too
