Any chance you pulled the battery? Mine does all kinda weird crap. When I turn off the car, sometimes it will stay on and freeze like that. When i return I need to pull the battery, reinsert it and then it will power on normally. Mine turns off randomly when playing music videos, figure that one out

that isnt exactly the same problem i have. your seems more like a lack of 12v memory being applied/accepted. mine is always different. i turn off the car and it turns off. when i start the car it will do one of the following: *Bluetooth indicator comes on but nothing else, i have to press power to start it *unit comes on, almost as if it tries to resume itself from before car was turned off, then it turns itself into standby and i need to press menu to start it up *unit turns on for a few seconds then shut off and i need to press power to get it back on. its annoying. if it was co

What did you mean by "hardware mod alone won't work"? Hardware mod is better in most cases if not in all cases. i mean that just grounding the parking brake wire wont work, once i start driving i get an error message stating the parking brake is improperly connected. ill.die.trying....thank you for the help. i got the software mod completed and it works great. greatly appreciate the help now i just need to figure out how the unit is supposed to power on and off and be consistent about it.

I have a F500BT that is hardwired and as far as I can tell, should turn on and off just like any aftermarket headunit would. The yellow wire is a constand 12v and the 5v input is connected to a switched 12v source. With the unit powered up and in use I really have no issues, but when I shut the ignition off, sometimes it will come back on and resume itself as it was before being turned off but other times it goes through the complete system startup like it does after being powered down manually. I found the thread that mentions changing the value to bypass the parking brake restriction, but as far as modified data.zip files on the forums, what do you mean? how do I backup files? thanks again

Been reading a ton of stuff here lately and im well aware that almost all mods are software related. So far I have downloaded Testmode and MiTACAP and with the SD card loaded into the unit I was able to access the systems "Windows" root. But I am a little lost as far as what order or additional things I need to download are. I havent found any good step-by-step directions, just alot of vague bits and pieces. I want to do a parking break bypass on our F500BT and im pretty sure after reading quite a bit that the hardware mod alone wont work. So can someone help me out here and give me

Is this possible? I have been reading thread after thread for the past few weeks since I got this device and the only thing that comes close is a link in the FAQ thread that shows the hardware bypass for the 700 and 90 but nothing for the 500bt without the software mods. I dont mind messing around with CE, but if I can achieve the same result with the connection of a wire or 2, id rather do it that way.

I am looking for the same info as well. The link you posted shows the hardware bypass for the 700 and 90, unless I missed something it only mentions a SOFTWARE bypass for the 500BT
