  1. i was wondering...i brought my d3 in to be installed by a pro and when i got it back, the screen sits about an inch inside of the actual face plate. it makes it hard to adjust the volume knob, and makes it look a lot smaller than it is. i asked him if it was possible to make it sit more flush and he said that with the brackets, they can only fit on the specific holes that are given on the unit itself. and it is not possible for it to be pushed out some more. i mean, there are some pluses i guess, it is barely visible when at night even looking right through the window. but the look is not
  2. no no...i meant you told me i could reverse it by unscrewing the back and changing it around...that's what i meant...my bad...
  3. if you read the post before, the guy told me to splice into the black wire with the pink stripe. can you help me locate the correct wire then? thanks...
  4. I spliced the purple and white wire onto the black wire with a pink stripe. When I open the doors the camera comes on. When I close the door the camera goes off. I put my car in reverse and there is no picture. Is the black and pink wire the correct wire?
  5. aiight..i'll see what i can do...so that's all i need to do then? spice the purple/white wire to teh black/pink wire and i'm good to go? and that makes the camera work when i put it in Reverse right? thanks buddy
  6. sorryabout that..thanks for the help.. it is a 1999 ford explorer xlt thanks for the help...i'll be waiting for the reply as i put it in...
  7. can you try to be more specific? i'm lost in terms of wiring. maybe a step by step? thanks.
  8. i had everything hooked up yesterday only to find out that the cam pic is upside down (misfit told me i could flip it) so that's not a big deal. could you guys help me with the wiring info? how do you have ur camera hooked up? when you engage in reverse? or how else do you have it done? i don't know much about wiring. all i did so far was put the plate up and run the wire to the front of the car. the installer left me some white/purple cable but i do not really know what to do with that. he told me to run that wire to my reverse light? i'm not quite sure what he said/what to do.
  9. gotcha...hold down on it right? don't just push it. thanks
  10. i just installed my d3 today and i also came across this situation. so is there any way besides having to manually turn the knob or buying the remote? i'd have no other use for the remote otherwise. there must be another way...any ideas? thanks guys
  11. sweet, that's what i thought, but i haven't had the chance to do it yet. thanks for the info anyways tho!
  12. i finally got my d3 installed after much thought and work. got it installed in my 99 ford explorer xlt. sits a little far back, but it's fine. avoids any sun glare and it's hard to see through my tinted windows because it's further in. for the people using the boyo license plate cam. because i have my trunk handle there, i had to turn the camera upside down. i'm assuming that the image will show upside down as well. is there a way i can turn the camera around to flip it? if not, i gotta sell it... i'm putting in my avox as well, but i realized the one they gave me was faulty...when i

    AVOX Jukebox

i tried using the wire and it did not work. it got stuck in the head and will not come out and now i'm stuck with a broken adaptor. it powers on for a second and just shuts off. the same as without the electrical wire. wtf am i doing wrong? are there any other suggestions as to another adaptor i can use? i'm really stressed. i have spent the last 2 hours trying to get it to work. help me please!!!! i'm desperate for some help
  14. my question is.... when i create a playlist, is there a way i can keep it? everytime i close the avox, i lose all the songs that i put in there. i chose to put a folder full of my songs, however the only way i can play them randomly is if i put them in the playlist tab. but everytime i turn it off, i lose all the songs that i had to individually put in the playlist tab. is there a way i can play the songs randomly under the music tab? is there a way i can select all when moving it into the playlist? i had to move them all one by one only to have them disappear when i turned it of
  15. sorry if im not getting it. but they are doing the bypass for me. why would i need to do it myself after they install it? shoot. i might as well forget about the switch then. what good does it do me?
  16. hey guys, thanks for all the input so far. but i cant figure out if you guys are for it or against it. are there any cons to having the switch? is it inconvenient to use at all as opposed as just turning it on and having it bypassed 24/7? thanks guys.
  17. yea i know what you mean, but what im saying is this even possible? i guess there's no real point to having a toggle switch to begin with.
  18. hey guys. i have finally decided on a place for the install. they are charging 180 for the d3 with bypass. this is exactly what he said " yea i can do the bypass. i'll put a toggle switch for you so if the cops pull you over, all you have to do is hit the switch and it will run the factory style. you don't want to get points for that." is this really necessary? i feel like just telling him to make it a normal unit with the bypass, no switches no nothing. but then, the idea sounded kinda neat i guess? have any of you guys done this or heard of it before? does it/will it work well?
  19. since paisan is currently chillin, i got the avox unit. unfortunately, i have not been able to hook it up to my d3 yet because i cannot find the time to install, but so far it's pretty cool. you can get teh avox through newegg.com and i'm using a seagate 120 gig hd for the memory. only downside to this is that you cannot control the music or video through the HU. the avox comes with a remote that you use to sort through the music and videos. but 120 gigs and the avox unit for the price (less) than a 30 gig ipod. i thought that was worth it to me.
  20. is the VTL 400 better? it does not look quite the same. the VTL 300 actually has a plate border where the 400 is just the bar. any ideas?
  21. i see it online for also 150 i guess that sounds about right. a lot of the vlt120 are online but it seems like the 300 is the way to go. did you happen to compare it to the bc2 at all?
  22. when are we gonna all meet and show off our units?
  23. is that easier to install than the nd-bc2 where can i find it?
  24. the people who have the license plate camera...what do you think of the quality? any regrets? i kinda like the idea that it's less noticeable and i don't need extra drilling. any thoughts?
