Sounds like there might be an issue with the unit. I don't know what you could possibly be doing wrong to cause it to freeze.

Better yet can you just stick the SD card in a PC. Copy its contents to another SD card? I am wondering as well because I put the 310 in my car and my wife's car. I would hate to spend 200 bones just for some POI's.
