  1. You mean remove Screen every time before you start, reset and install again? Is that acceptable? Mine only had bluetooth issue hanging when I start, not while it connected. I think Pioneer need to step up quickly and fix the problems. Did you report the problems to Pioneer yet?
  2. Did anyone sent the unit to Pioneer and got it back after fixes? Also, wondering why this forum is so passive(esp for this unit)? Like hardly anyone responds, or give advise etc?
  3. I think I am already getting tired of this unit. I hardly used the system, in 4 days I used, its bluetooth module hung thrice. The symptoms are, bluetooth does not connect. But when to click on Phone button in Menu, it goes to phone screen and shows Bluetooth off and connections button disabled. When I click on Bluetooth to turn it on, it keep circling and nothing happens. Trying to do a F. Reset does not do any good. Only way to get it working again is doing Hard reset by pressing the small reset switch on LCD frame. This does fix problem, but also resets everything else. Phone Book i
  4. There is not much information for this unit sofar. I was hoping I can use the NavTeQ database which is 100times better than the TeleAtlas.
  5. But how do I select SD card as source on AVIC-U310BT, there is no option in 310BT. Only option for SD are Eject SD, Data Import/export options. Thanks
  6. Hi LifterGuy and whodat90, Thank you very much for detailed replies. I posted here and Kia Rondo forums. As you expected I installed it on long weekend. Nevertheless it is helpful to see how you installed on your vehicles. Hats of to you whodat90 for drilling through the roof, I would have never dared to do that.!! But that is one slick install. May be you could have used existing antenna base!? Anyways, I started a separate thread in AVIC-U310BT forums about my install, and provided some pictures. I did not want to modify or drill any factory stuff, so I came with my own con
  7. Ok, I think I did a mistake in install and did not connect the Antenna Power lead assuming antenna is not amplified. I checked FM stations as usual, and I was getting all channels I usually hear. But today I checked AM, and not getting any AM channels, where as my other car is getting lot of AM channels. After little research on Kiatechinfo site, I realized Rondo has amplified antenna. Arghh... Now I need to open the dash again. Though it would not take too much time, it is still a pain. Anyways, finally I connected remote amp power lead from Radio to Antenna power lead on Rondo harne
  8. I have been playing with Microphone since yesterday as I have been observing some boomy echo on the other side. I observed when I keep my hand behind Microphone, there is no boomy-ness. I think voice is bouncing of wind shield and feeding into Microphone from behind and this is causing the issue. It seems Under rearview mirror may not be the correct position for Kia Rondo. I applied some velcro over the two holes on the sides of Microphone and it seems it improved, but it is best when I keep my palm behind the Microphone. I felt current position is ideal, so that both driver and passen
  9. It seems very good idea. We may even be able to initiate call from the contact(as POI). I will give it try and see.
  10. Yes, I think Garmin Mic fixed the Microphone problem(Much, much better now), but still it is not as clear as my other car, not because of Mic, but because of static. It seems some phones are better and other are not.
  11. Hi Guys, I think I did enough research on this. It is the Microphone problem. I posted a mini review and also provided info about Microphone. I replaced mine with Garmin Mic like few people suggested, now it is much.. much better. Actually it was not usable at all, with new Garmin Microphone it is reasonbly good, but not as good as my other Bluetooth system in my Prius. Here is link for Mic at frys, it is very cheap. http://www.frys.com/product/4865730 Hopefully, this will solve your problem too.
  12. Ok, I went ahead and installed the Garmin Microphone. Though length cable is shorter than Pioneer supplied, it is just enough for my car(barely) to be able to mount it under my rearview mirror. But, this is best improvement you can do to Bluetooth on this unit. It is improved to substantial and now it is usable. This is Garmin Microphone from frys http://www.frys.com/product/4865730 is definitely worth, and I would say don't even bother to install Pioneer supplied one. I had to remove everything again to replace this. Now, Navigation, it felt better on a longer route, but it is still
  13. I asked some questions in this forum, I did not see responses to my questions, so I went ahead installed my Pioneer AVIC-U310BT. But I installed it little differently than whodat90 who another member installed F series on his Kia Rondo. I installed the antenna on the dash itself, but under the center speaker plastic cover( I do not have center speaker). I did some tests before finalizing that location. I installed it temporary on roof, tried it, put plastic cover over it( the center speaker cover) and tried it. There is no difference in signal strength. Then I tried on dash with and wi
  14. Hi, I also have 2007 Kia Rondo LX V6, and looking for some help on routing the GPS antenna to location you are using. I bought AVIC-U310BT few days ago, and planning to install coming weekend. How did you route the antenna wire? Do you have some pictures you can post? Also did you run the USB and AUX cables into Center Console? Any thing that I need to aware of that is specific to Rondo( Mine in Standard CD player, not infinity system).? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Chinna
  15. Since several people are having this problem, I thought it is something to do with Firmware, not hardware. Did you send whole unit, or just the NAV unit(Screen) ? Sending whole unit would be PITA. It seems the whole unit is rushed to market, and several people has several issues with this unit. I got my unit today, hooked on bench and started testing it. Some of the controls did not feel intuitive, but that's ok. The problem sofar I observed on bench are, it did not read couple of USB drives, even after format and kept giving me Error 23 on the screen. So, I connected my iPhone
  16. Sorry to hear that it freezes pretty much every time. Did you get a chance to call Pioneer? Based on symptoms you mentioned, it seem something to do with battery in that detachable screen. May be it is not holding the charge, and that is causing issue? You can try this, bring that detachable screen to inside home, keep charging whole night, and check next morning if it still freezes after install the screen.
  17. I read the manual, they state if we want to keep the GPS antenna inside over plastic, we need to use that silly shiny metal under the antenna. It makes it look ugly. As per A2DP, iPhone 2G is one of several phones I have(I have multitude of 3G devices, many win mobile devices). Also planning to upgrade to 3GS soon anyways for daily use phone.
  18. You mean only once it happend, or everytime you start the car?
  19. Hmm.. It sucks to hear about GPS Freezing. I think I already heard this from few people. Did you call Pioneer about this issue? Any info from them. Hope it can be fixed with firmware updates. I preferred this unit because it is simple and has the all the functionality I was need, and of course GPS functionality is one of the main functions.
  20. I bought this unit on eBay couple of days ago(Not received yet) and intend to install it in 2007 Kia Rondo. I was wondering how/where you installed the GPS antenna. Can you run the wire all the way back and put on the roof behind the Radio antenna? Or is there a better place to put this antenna? Also, for Microphone, which is better place, Visor? or in the Center over the Dash? Did anyone use this 2G iPhone? Any issues with that. It seems this unit does not support A2DP audio streaming from phone? is that correct? I intend to install it myself and any hints, tips and tricks for t
