pretty much anything related to automobiles!
  1. They replaced my 700BT for me but only after the 5th repair! The pico fuse was replaced, maps reloaded, navboard replaced, The operating sofware was corrupted and had to be replaced as well, new updates were also added. Luckily for me i live 40 mins from pioneer canada were they do the repairs, but still i've had the unit since sept 2009 and it's been repaired that many times. Hope you have better luck getting a new unit from them. You may have better luck with the place you purchased it from.
  2. When i brought mine in for repair i spoke to the technician at length(I live a 40 min drive from pioneer headoffice in canada were they do repairs as well) apperently he was one of the technicians resonsible for the firmware upgrades. His explination for why it happens is that when the unit starts up it checks all of the digital media slots for firmware updates, starting with the SD slot(why it checks USB as well he couldn't explain) It has to go through it's procedures and loading the nav info(hence the start up times) first before it will play music. The track resets because the unit doesn't
  3. Yes the 45 seconds is normal, before the firmware fixes,it was worse up to 90 seconds or more. I do belive the back up cam will show right away though. I've installed a few and I don't remember having to wait. There are a few things that will work right away. The radio begins playback with in seconds of power up as well as the CD player. All digital media takes the full 45 seconds as the unit loads all of the nav stuff first.
  4. There is no fix for this particular problem. I sent my unit in for repair because I thought this was not normal. I have 3 other pioneer units that pick up from where you left off but not this one. Pioneer told me this is normal operation for the unit. You will also notice that if you have an SD card and a USB pluged in at the same time on power up the SD card can take as much as 45 seconds to show up, this is also normal operation(so I'm told by pioneer themselves)
  5. i've got a AVIC F700BT and i'm having a problem with avic feeds. Everything seems to work properly accept the fuel report. when i try to open a file for the fuel report it will only look at .csv files even though the help page say's it will accept .dat as well. when i try to open the .csv file it says " cannot read file". the help say's to change settings under the help function and i've tried all of the changes and nothing works. Has anyone got this feature working and if you did, how did you do it. Any help would be appriciated.
  6. if your alarm has AUX outputs and 98% do(for example mine has 2) you could use one to power the relay to turn on the AVIC. For example mine has the ability to provide a latched output(it will stay on) for up to 90 seconds. So i've used mine to power up my AVIC before i get into the car. I can also keep it running while cranking the vehicle using the same output
  7. powering the ACC with a relay will also be a problem if you don't isolate it from the rest of the car. If you provide ACC power(remember that ACC is just a TRIGGER to turn on things) and it's not isolated you will provide power to everything else on that ACC circuit. Now with that being said, that may not be a problem in the OP vehicle becasue if my memory serves me correct that vehicle has 2 ACC wires one for the rest of the trucks accessories and one for the radio. Some cars, like mine have only 1 ACC wire. You would need 2 relays to properly isolate.
