  4. i dont think thats the isssue cuz the temperature has dropped latley and the screen works fine. do you guys think it could be due to over heating?
  5. I AM having the exact same problem could someone please help
  6. well guys im just about to throw my n2 out of the window while driving a buck fifty on the highway. here is my latest problem. when i get in the car and turn it on, the n2 turn on and music plays just as normal. but the only problem is the screen doesnt want to slide out. when i press the button the screen eject button is makes the sounds its supposed to but no screen comes out. now if i leave the car alone for a few hours or a day and i come back it SOMETIMES works and the screen will eject and work perfectly. also the auto slide back feature of the screen likes to work whenever it feels
  7. well i have finally gotten my unit back from pioneer after 2 months. lol aside from the wait which was kind of annoying it wasn't so bad. i sent my unit in for the flex cable issue. got a call after a month saying that there was something else wrong with the unit aside from the flex cable and it would be 150 for repair. i said go ahead and it was done. what i was impressed about is that pioneer did not upgrade my navigation. and they were honest. i forgot to take one of my cd's out and they returned it ! and i even forgot to take off the cage and they returned it. maybe this was a
  8. well i rarely do travel outside the city in my car. if i do leave town im either flying or renting a car. considering mine is getting pretty old. but i do see the real benifits of soldering. i guesse i just don't feel like opening my unit up. but its good to know that my way will work with the 60 mp disks.
  9. i have a feeling that my method might work with upgraded 60mp disks. i guesse ill try it when i get my unit back from pioneer.
  10. i would much rather have the factory navi of that car than the n3. factory navi has gotten pretty damn good. my friends 745il 2003 navi is better than my n1 i think
  11. hey slyk, i hope everything works out for you. I just sent out my unit to Markham faecility today. jeez all these horror stories are trippin me out. i hope i get mine back in working order
  12. man you guys need to relax, i read the posts and i couldn't figure it out. but after that link u sent me, ive found my answer. now all i have to do is wait to get my unit back from pioneer so i can test the cd
  13. no this is not a solder technique. the avic n1 knows your moving via 3 things. the vss wire. parking brake. and gps map. essentially what i have done is hooked allthree up to a switch. when i want to have navigation switch on. booya, navigation works. i want to watch a movie? switch off. booya, video works. however you cannot have navigation while watching a movie. also lets say you switch navi off drive to teh other side of the city switch it on give the unit about a min and it will find your location. im pretty sure the edition of map disks you have doesn't affect t
  14. ive searched but im still not confident on how to do this. ive downloaded the 60mp west cd. i have 2 files one is a .mdf file and the other is a .mds file. how do i go about burning these on a dual layer so they work right the first time around. exactly what do i need to do step by step. i know im a newb
  15. lol its going at 1 kb a second man, ive been downloading for 2 weeks straight
  16. could somebody please start seeding the 60mp disks through torrents please. im 80 percent done the west disk, the one i need the most and theres only one person seeding now and its taking forever
  17. im not sure if this has been mentioned here or not. but my avic n1 is bypassed with relays that are hooked to the vss wire. im not sure exactly how its done but basically the vss wire and the gps antenna were cut and relays were insterted and wired up to a switch. when i want navigation i turn the switch on. when i wanna watch video's while driving i hit the switch off. and watch away. while watching movies its as if navigation antenna is off and the vss aswell so the unit thinks its parked but im actually moviing
  18. currently my screen has that light sensor and i was wondering how i could change it so i can change the brightness of the screen myself. i prefer a bright screen. but don't know how to go about doing this.
  19. what about the warranty some members were talking about? i heard pioneer is fixing these ribbons for free? is it even the flex cable?
  20. the buttons on the right side of the removable faceplate no longer work in my n1. like my eq, and selection joystick. also sometimes my screen doesn't wanna slide out. ill press the button it will make the noise but he screen wont slide out. if i leave it over night it usually will come back out. do you guys think this could be a flex cable issue? is it possible to hook up a d1 to a n1 brain? incase its not worth it to fix my n1.
