Ok i figured this would be super easy....flip the switch at the bottom of the headunit and id be driving watching dvds no problem.....but nope. I flipped the switch and nothing....it still gives me restriction of not being able to see dvds in the front seats when car is not in park....type of message. All it takes is to flip the switch right? what am i missing....

crazycaucazian86 replied to crazycaucazian86's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
yeah i had gotten it fixed doing that 3d calibration thing, worked like a charm, i plan to get the brain screwed into some board and then place it under the seat so its more secure than it is. Thanks for the help guys! -
car appears side ways on map

sweet deal man, thanks for the info, its barely moved under the passenger seat...so even when i move it....which is with very little slack it moves maybe a few degrees just me moving it manually....and yes i did look at the top of the brain...i knew before i even had purchased the thing that it was supposed to be like that. ill try that tomorrow, im too tired to go back into my garage and mess with it now. The unit was bought from a retailer....so hopefully it wasnt a second hand (but you never know these days...) Lol otherwise if i left it just the way it is....id have the worlds long -
just finished installing my avic n3 and i must say, wonderful piece of equipment...especially since this is my first time owning a new headunit and installing it myself...also did the rear view camera and the ipod adapter....went smoothly with no problems....im finally feeding good sound to my aftermarket speakers too which is a plus. now my problem is....just today i noticed on the way home that my arrow...or car on the map is angled slightly when on the road....and is now completely perpendicular to the road....its noticeable in the Drivers View option that the road i should be going str

crazycaucazian86 replied to crazycaucazian86's topic in Vehicle Specific Wiring
this is probably really stupid too, but im guessing just like i did with the speaker wires from the harness to the pioneer headunit wire harness thing....i do the same thing with the color coded wires....crimp them together....but i need to confirm this so i dont mess up lol.... -
Ok im doing some prep work with my headunit to harness, doing some crimping....for my 96 civic harness to the wires on the avic n3, the only wires i have left im confused about crimping is the red 12volt ignition switch and the orange wire thats for dash illumination, the yellow which is 12volt battery constant, and the black chassis to ground wire. I have the red and orange wires from the pioneer wire harness with the fuse resistors, do i connect the red wire w/ resistor to the red on the civic harness? do i also do the same thing with the orange wire with the fuse resistor to the orange

1996 Honda Civic Wire lookup
crazycaucazian86 replied to crazycaucazian86's topic in Vehicle Specific Wiring
thanks so much! so what does the cruise control module look like lol? i had taken out the dash the other day to just plan how i was going to get in and out of it...and seeing how to get through the firewall (which i was able to find), i had noticed a blue white wire going through somewhere at the glove box and i was like hmm i wonder if thats also the vss wire and not another type of wire... -
Before I start installing this stuff next week, I want to verify the wire locations and colors with you pros out there. I need to know the color and location of these ... VSS (im positive its blue/white, but locations tend to vary on different sites i see, some say to go directly to the 20Pin Fuse box or go to the VSS wire just below the Thottle boddy) Brakes Reverse

Whats the best way to tap into the VSS wire?
crazycaucazian86 replied to crazycaucazian86's topic in Vehicle Specific Wiring
im fairly confident in doing any method really, ive worked with wires before, especially when having to wire two amps on my 04 gti, this stuff really isnt new to me...but it is my first time actually installing a headunit and a brain that accompanies it....not to mention rear view camera....and the ipod adapter....and the sirius sat radio lol. Ive done a few installs in peoples cars but none with this much going for it. Generally the easier this can be done...i would like to do it that way.... -

thanks for the input, i saw some of the t taps at the store but for some reason i couldnt understand how it was supposed to work....do you have to expose some of the wire first before using it? and if i did that route which t tap would you recommend...im currently look at this site that has pictures of them http://www.crowbarelectricalparts.com/Scotchloks.htm what would i be looking at? thanks for the input btw guys, you guys are wicked fast with info.
