  1. Maybe the division between east and west is the Central/Eastern time zone line with some overlap thrown in for convenience. Just based on a personal theory, but the eastern side of the US has many densely populated areas that are close together. Just look at the major cities along the I-95 corridor. From DC, it's 1 hour to Baltimore, 3 or 4 to Philly, and 6 to New York. And that’s just going north on 95. Now think about all the streets in those areas that might be needed by any one of us. I use my east disc all the time. It has worked for all of my trips back home to Mississippi an

I'm using the CNDV-70MT discs. With the purchased disc in my DVD-ROM, I don't see that any of the image files are 0 KB in size. BGOPEN2.JPG is 115 KB and is dated 2/28/2007. The PIM2DIN directory is present as well, with a date of 5/22/2007. As I said before, I simply copied the purchased disc to my hard drive, inserted my own files, and burned a copy to a Verbatim DVD+R DL. I'm using a Plextor burner, and the free version of Roxio 6 that came w/ the burner.
  3. Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. Kind of a shame, really. Seems like a real simple thing to offer the AV inputs to the rear output while driving. Are you 100% sure about that. My harness has a tag that says "Sub/Non-Fading" and on page 99 of my user manual it says that when Non-Fading is selected, it is full range (does not pass throught the low pass filter).
  4. The only two symbols listed on Dow Jones' web site are DJ and DJIA... I guess it depends on what you want... the company or the industrial average. XM's website has no reference. Have you checked your user manual?
  5. That's an image I'd recognize anywhere. What's up Josiah? ~ Nyte

For all of you that are asking, YES I was able to add my own custom backgrounds. Using Win XP Pro, I copied the DVD to my hard drive, inserted my desired files, and burned a dual layer DVD using Roxio 6 and the "create ISO" setting.
  7. I've been searching here, on Pioneer's website, and in my user manual, but so far no luck. I guess I'm not using the right search phrase. I even searched in the D2 specific forums as well as the entire forum. So... I know I can use the "Sub" out in Non-fading mode to supply audio to the AVD-W7900 display I just ordered for the rear seat. I plan to install this on the back of the right headrest using the "stalk" for now. I know I need an external DVD player, and unless I get a Pioneer unit, I won't be able to control the player from the D2. But given all of that, my question is,
  8. I wondered about this w/ my D2, but have learned to live with it.
  9. I'm thinking that not many of you have 3 year olds that scream, "I WANT TO SEE THE GPS!!!!" or, "I WANT TO SEE THE CLOCKS!!!" (vehicle dynamics display). AVD-W7900 ordered.

I stand corrected. The actual disclaimer reads... "Data for the Map Database This database was developed and recorded up to April 2006. Changes to streets/roads made after that time may not be reflected in this database" That's what I get for not checking more closely. I apologize for the earlier mistake. It is 2006, not 2005. Maybe it's time to get my eyes checked.
  11. yeah... I'm the same. Wife didn't have a problem with it, now she has a Z2.

Yes, you can still enter information via touch screen. My wife's Z2 has a QWERTY keyboard, not the alphabetical order keyboard that you and I have. I read another post where someone thought it might just be a simple software upgrade. Well, if it is, it didn't get put on this disc. The disclaimer section of the upgrade instructions states that the map data is through end of April 2005. Now I thought maybe it was a typo, but the same statement is on both instruction sheets. I'll double check the disclaimer again. I'll check my wife's Z2 manual and see if there is any comments abou
  13. Just a theory: You may want to check your burning software and make sure you didn't check (or it isn't by default) the "insert 2 second gap between tracks" function. It doesn't seem like a long time, but if you add 2 seconds to the gap that is already present between tracks, it will be noticeable.

CORRECTION: Map data is AS OF APRIL 2006 Well... will wonders never cease. I got home last night to discover that UPS delivered my packages a day early. Two boxes, both the same size, and both wrapped w/ the same "REPACK" tape. I'm not sure what happened there. Anyway, one box contained the remote I ordered for my wife for her Z2 (CD-RV1, but that is another thread). The second box contained my update discs. I haven't seen any posts talking about the upgrade discs or how to perform the upgrade, but then again, I didn't search... anyway... here's my experience: They came

According to UPS, mine didn't ship out until the 12th, despite the Pioneer website stating they shipped on the 10th. I ordered a remote for my wife's Z2 and thought it odd that they shipped my products in two different packages. I wonder if my discs were almost declared on backorder as well. Oh well... according to the UPS website, both packages arrived in MD today and should be in VA tomorrow. Of course, UPS won't deliver until the scheduled date, so I won't get either package until Wednesday.
