  1. The 3.0 you just flashed your AVIC is the 120$ update! To update the 3.0 to 3.01 visit pioneers x910bt update page and download the firmware update form the link. Instructions on how perform the install are on this page as well.. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/In-Dash/GPS-Navigation-Systems/AVIC-X910BT? Just follow Pioneers instructions; it's pretty straightforward.
  2. What do you mean when you say "went straight to the desk top"? Are you referring to the AVIC Main Menu (Destination, Contacts, AV Source)? So you got to the Service Mode blue screen and what... saw there was nothing to select and reset the unit? or did you select something and it kicked you out of Service Mode back to the Main Menu? It would really help if you gave detailed specifics on what steps your taking and the immediate results of those steps. If you had no option to update the WinCE files I can't see how you would've been sent back to the "desktop". You have to manually Reset the A
  3. Wow so I finally got it working! Thank god! Sadly all these days of scouring the forums and reading and re-reading hundreds of posts, I think it came down to the fact that the files I was using somehow got corrupt or didn't transfer properly from PC to PC. I think my problem was a rather isolated incident so for most of you this probably won't apply but for the sake of documenting one more solution I'll explain: BTW; MyItGuy's files worked fine. Use the Megaupload linked files not the torrents since they're probably not seeding anymore. So what I was doing was downloading the fi
  4. ~EDIT~ Turns out the Testmode Folder was not the current 2.3? I don't know but at any rate I DL'd a different Testmode file found in another thread. Now I'm able to boot into Testmode, however when I copy the contents of My_Flash over to the My Flash Disk drive and reboot I get the splash screen to black screen again... still. and NO I'm not copying the FOLDER "My_Flash" over; I'm copying the CONTENTS within the "My_Flash" folder over. Please help!
  5. Did you ever find a solution? The same exact thing just happened to me after trying to upgrade to 3.0. Got as far as updating the WinCE files and now it shuts down after resetting. Someone; Pleeease
  6. I'm not sure where the 3.0 attempt went wrong, sometime after updating the WinCE files in the service mode. I use the Ultimate 3.0 Guide and some other files located deeper in the thread (earlier ones were defunkd). After updating the WinCE files I inserted the what I thought was a working Testmode folder on the SD card and kept getting the Black Screen. Turns out the Testmode file from the download was not the latest one. Now I'm booting into Testmode with the proper Testmode_2.3 file. I can see the directory and I'm able to transfer files to and from my "Storage Card" to the "My Flash
  7. I'm using the files from MyITGuy. I booted into service mode and followed the first few steps to upgrade the WinCE files. Everything went okay and upon completion got the "CE Upgrade OK Please Reset Your Device". However when I reset the device the system reboots to the Pioneer splash screen then shuts down! I have to press the Reset button to turn the unit back on but then it shutsdown after the splash screen again. It will not boot anymore regardless if there's an SD card in the slot or not! Please help me. I'm using two SD cards, one had the WinCE update files (WINCEIMG.BIN & W
  8. Thanks for the reply! I had my Firmware version numbers confused in my first post. I said the Pioneer site only offered an update to "2.01", where the actual firmware is v. 2.006. Regardless, I've updated the unit from what appears to be the stock firmware of 1.xxxx (or whatever it was, I know it was 1-something) to 2.006. So regarding to the post above can I still update to 3.0 from 2.006? Or does it have to be 2.1? Also, please confirm that this will work for U.S. models?
  9. Hello, I'm about to buy an AVIC-F700BT from a co-worker. I know nothing about these units but love hacking/modding all things electronic so I was pretty stoked when I stumbled on this forum! I'd like to get some clarification regarding firmware updates. The Pioneer site only offers a firmware up to rev 2.01 but I see many comments regarding a 3.0 firmware. Is this 3.0 available on the Pioneer site or is it located someplace else? I.E. is it a unsupported, 'modified' firmware ? I should also mention I'm in the U.S. and this is a US sold unit, so I'm not sure if the firmware is region-spe
