amp wire?

There are two power turn on leads on the Z1. One on the main harness (with power, speaker level outputs and VSS wire etc...), this one is the POWER ANTENNEA lead. There is also a second one on the RCA hardness where the preout connections are (Front, Rear, Sub, etc...) that lead is for the power AMPLIFIER. That way if you have a power antennea it can go up and down with the radio, and the AMPS will use a different lead for their power turn on. -Jeff
2. It gets even better... If you do a search by Album, it will show you the name of the album, but not the artist. This is all very poorly organized. Once you are playing the album it's fine, but navigation and selection sucks. -Jeff
3. I was getting Pioneer's site yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if they added it. I know they weren't on Pioneer's list on the old site (for Internet retailers). I'm not too concerned. 6Ave would probably step in and assist if necessary. -Jeff
4. Site's down again. Seems like Pioneer's woes continue. -Jeff
5. I'm just now starting to use the Z1's Library collection. Is it just me or is this thing a PITA?? I would like to be able to browse my music collection, and find a particular CD or song, but once you select an artists name it starts playing the first song from that artist in your library. This may not be the first song of the album I want, which requires me scrolling down to the 15th track or so, and even then I have to memorize what the name of the first song on the second album is. Also, if you are playing a song, and want to browse around, it'll stop playing once you select ano
6. I would figure that they could make a IP-BUS HD-Tuner, but what's the reality of it? What are your thoughts on HD Radio? -Jeff
7. It's interesting to note that the model number mentioned in the previous post is "AVIC-ZH900MD", and I'm willing to guess there is a 99% chance this is a MD player. The same Sony MD format that the unit uses to encode the audio files.
8. We'll see. I called today, and they said the Ipod unit was in, but not the BT. I asked that they please ship the iPod unit seperately, and the guys said he would let the shipping manager know. What if anything will actually ship, I don't know. -Jeff
9. Whew! It looks like it's back on-line now. -Jeff
10. I've been trying to get on Pioneer's site for the last couple days... http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/ So, why has their site been down for so long? Any one have any info? I would like to register my unit, and also check out what info is on there for owners of a Z1. -Jeff
11. So, I have a question... I just installed my Z1, with the DC-BP1 (DucatiBoy ByPass 1). So how do I know if it's working? What features would I not be able to do while driving that I would actually want to do (not watching DVD movies). What features does this enable in the NAVI mode? -Jeff
12. There is a thread on this. Do a search. I would recommend using a laptoip, and transferring all contacts, otherwise it'll force you to do it 1 by 1 (with a MOT phone). -Jeff
13. I would agree silveradojeff, but ths issue is not with the vehicle's location on the map, but the actual gas station and mini-plaza's location on the map. The map should be accurate 100% of the time. The vehicle's location is the only thing that should change (assuming restarants aren't on wheels). -Jeff
14. I installed my Z1 today. I pretty much had the install planned out in my head, but it didn't take long at all. Maybe 1.5 hours total. I will admit that I was replacing an existing radio, and as expected unit unit just fit right in there. Only delays were routing Mic, VSS and GPS antennea. The antennea went under my clock ('04 WRX STI), so it's not visible to anyone. I'll see how reliable it is. So, some questions now... The GPS signal doesn't make any sense to me. I see 8 Sat's most orange one yellow and some grey. There is also the green signal bar. What do the orange/y
15. Ducatiboy, How many of these units have you made so far? I'm just curious how many people have actually ordered the units. Thx. -Jeff
16. I like this unit, and may have a need for an Audio IN feature. Without buying a IP-Bus RCA adapter, can you use the AV Input, and just connect the Audio for L+R Audio input? I cannot find anything conclusive in the owners manual about that configuration. Anyone tried this? AVIC-Z1 Ordered, and in transit, so I have no means of testing this my self.
17. I sent my payment too (a couple days ago). Do you have any ETA on approximatley when the unit will ship?
18. Has anyone tried syncing their phone with a BT enabled laptop, and then transferring from the latop? This looks very straight forward with this approach. You should be able to highlight all contacts, and then send them via Bluetooth. Anyone? Anyone?
19. Pablo, I would rather wait to see what I get. I did receive a confirmation email from them, and noticed they didn't exactly price the items as I was quoted. The only reason I probably got a price break on the BT and IPOD adapter was the warranty. They actually priced the warranty at $215 (not $250), and the IPod adapter at $35 (not $0). The BT was $100. I don't want to sabotage my deal if the sales rep wasn't supposed to cut that much. Are you working with them including the warranty or excluding? Probably makes a big difference.
20. I'm not too sure what I think about my experience at this point. I'm sure a web purchase would have been 100% smoother experience. I noticed today they no longer have a price listed on their web site, just a "Call for pricing" message. I was going to order via the web last night, but thought it would be better to place the order via phone, in case there is a benefit for warranty purposes. The guy quoted a price of $1650 for the unit, and said that the $1499 price was a promotion. After about 15 seconds of "negotation" he quickly dropped the price down to $1550. After about anothe
