  1. Thanks for posting this! I just ordered my 920bt, used Google Checkout (had to re-use the coupon there, but it worked). Still the best deal on this unit I've seen, and from an authorized Pioneer dealer at that.
  2. The manual states that (as with most modern Nav systems) it does take a few hundred miles of driving for the unit to fully calibrate, so if this happened on the way home from the install I wouldn't worry. Also seconding making sure the speed pulse was hooked up as the more I research these units the more I find they do make a big difference in maintaining your precise location. Everytime you lose the sat signal, even for a few moments - and it can happen more often than you think - that helps in maintaining your current position.
  3. Ok. I may hook mine up anyway unless it interferes with the bypass. From what I understand it's mainly for driving in long tunnels and such where you lose the lock on your GPS, but supposedly it also gives you a more accurate position even with a lock. I guess I'm just going to go ahead and install it and see what happens. From what you described it sounds like I will need to dremel a few millimeters off the bottom inside lip of the Metra dash kit so it sits flush, right?
  4. Huh, I had read that the Titan harness didn't have a ground, I though I was going to have to ground it separately. So you skipped the speed sensor then? Is it not needed.
  5. Crap. Well, that's why I have a Dremel. I think the 920bt might even be a little deeper according to Crutchfield so this should be interesting. How'd you ground it, and connect the speed/e-brake wires?
  6. Awesome. Thank you very much! I'm using the Metra DD kit, does it stick out at all? Was it a super-tight fit or more or less normal? Would you be willing to share any particular "gotchas" with the Titan? I've installed systems before, but not GPS. I'm concerned trying to find the speed-sensor wire and the parking brake wire - was planning on using vampire clips for those. Also did you just ground it to the steel bar that runs behind the dash? I was thinking of clamping it on there. Thanks again! I'll be an AVIC owner soon enough now.
  7. Can anyone tell me how deep the 920bt is? I am trying to mount it in a Nissan Titan that has 6.5 inches. Pioneer's site says the 920 is 6.5 but Crutchfields site says it won't fit, that it's 6.8.
  8. Hopefully someone can help I am ready to buy the x920bt. Crutchfield claims it won't fit my truck, a 2008 Nissan Titan, because the Titan is listed as being able to accept up to 6.5 inches in the dash (with a double din kit of course) and they have the depth of the x920bt depth set as 6.8 inches. Now, I still may be able to get it to fit even if it is that deep. But Pioneer lists the depth of the 920bt as 6.5. I like Cruchfield but they have been wrong before. Does anyone who has installed one know for sure? By some off chance has anyone put one in a Titan yet, or for that matter the
