  1. Which Ipod cable do I need for my old Ipod Video 30GB unit so I can have steering wheel control and feed audio/video to head unit on NEX8100. Thanks
  2. Hi I own a 2013 Nissan Altima SV with Factory Navigation. It never was what I wanted it to be, and now I see the Avic 8100NEX. I would like to have this in my car but not at the nearly $2,000 some dealers are quoting. The unit can be had for $899 on Amazon, but these are my specific questions and all advice is very much appreciated. Somehow I read that Factory NAV units cannot be replaced by aftermarkets, only standard radios can be replaced, is that true? I know I need to purchase the Metra Double Din faceplate for the Altima, but what else do I need to do this myself
  3. It has Two Cameras, rear and passenger side mirror. This technology is so new but yet so exciting. There are also stand alone android nav, but forget about getting hybrid display over those. I want my cake and eat it too. Mainly I just want Android Auto.
  4. This new unit is what I have dreamed of. I am purchasing a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid next week and I do not know which model/trim level would marry best to the AVIC? If anyone has a avic8100 or even avic 8000 married to a 2014/2015 honda accord hybrid I would very much care to hear from you as to how everything was configured. I wish to keep hybrid display statuses. Just not sure if the Pioneer picks up where the Honda leaves off. The Accord top of line has 2 monitots a 8 inch non touch display and a smaller touch display. The smaller touch display is removed to make roo
  5. Just found out about the 8100 and will purchase it soon either for $1,400 from Pioneer or cheaper if it is on Amazon. Some questions from the experts here. Having a Samsung Note 3 and 4 which are running Lollipop, will this marry well to the 8100? Will contact photos be displayed on the 8100? Is there any hack that will allow complete mirroring where any android app can run and be seen on the 8100? I would like to do the install myself, where does one buy the dashboard frame to mount the unit to? Lastly, I am buying a 2015 Honda accord hybrid, this car has multiple angl
  6. I'm desperate too with my z120BT. If I buy a parot mic, can i just cut the head off the existing pioneer mic and splice the new one in? Is swapping out the pioneer stock mic with an aftermarket one the issue to improve bt quality with an avic z120bt? If the mic is the issue, why would Pioneer supply an inferior mic? Jeff
  7. Ok, Here it goes. Z120BT LATEST firmware. Mic has been relocated to every conceivable place. Still, people on either a landline or another CP think I'm in a tin can which is under water being hit with a hammer. Movin ON in Nassau County where I bought it says there's nothing wrong....but obviously there is something wrong. Is there a real cure? My old rosen entertainment gave me landline quality where this pioneer is no better with bluetooth than two tin cans with a string. Is switching from the standard pioneer mic to another one such as a parot mic a solution
  8. Well, I'll give it a few more days and then either have a Parrot system replace Pioneer's BT ot request a new head unit. Jeff
  9. Well, honestly I just returned from my mountain home where i did the update to 2.03 from 2.01...fringe reception there. Now back in NYC area, people say they are hearing me. I will pair it with an iphone and keep testing, and perhaps still if problems continue, get a parrot blue tooth and disable the BT in the 120. Do your callers hear you as being on a speakerphone? Jeff
  10. I don't understand, are you saying don't buy a 120bt (i already have one) or don't buy a parrot blutooth which I tested and seems awesome since there seems there will never be a Solution for the pioneer 120bt Jeff
  11. If i cant get a solution and the parrot mic does not do the trick, I will simply turn OFF bluetooth on the 120BT and get a complete Parrot bluetooth system using my cars audio system, hopefully the 120bt will allow integration but man am I ever turned off, disgraceful about pioneer, thought I was getting the best and got the worst.
  12. So I gather you downloaded the latest 2.003000 for your 120BT? And 3.11 is the lastest bluetooth Firmware? I just know my Rosen entertainment NAV for my other car had unbelievable bluetooth, of course ipod control sucks. Do you know if the 120BT can display photo contacts or just text? EDIT: Just updated the software to 2.03...Called my GF, still like I have a bad throat and am under water. Hopefully the Parrot dual mic will do the trick or Bluetooth firmware 3.12? if it comes out. UNBELIEVABLE that a top price, high end Pioneer has a bluetooth system which is barely a
  13. Hi All, In the past I have addressed the problem with my Z120BT Bluetooth. The sound quality is absolutely a disaster. I have moved the pioner mic from the left side to right under the mirror, renamed my phone, use 3 or 4 other phones to pair with and called several people on multiple carriers, put tape along the opening of the mic.. EVERYTHING...NOTHING Helps, it stinks, It sounds like I'm under water to the other party. I hear them well enough too. I have done everything I can possibly do including renaming the phone, every possible setting, volume up and down on the handset and
  14. Yes Mike, I have firmware 3.11 I have already in the past restored the 120BT to it's factory deafault and paired from scratch. I guess I'll get a new Mic...Love bluetooth but not on this, On Rosen entertainment system, it's stellar...on the pioneer it's awful. Jeff
  15. What do you mean by renaming? Changing the identifier the AVIC sees my phone as? For example last night I called a friend, she heard me perfectly, I was amazed, I called her back from my same location and she could hardly hear me, so would a parot mic make a difference? Thanks, Jeff
