  1. ryar, how to select a new SKIN, like the one by GJA in Primo?

    In v1.2, I don't have the fancy interface by GJA as in v1.1 GJA 2.6.

    Thanks.

    Go to settings, Display, then choose GJ_AK v3 10.0 Day for day and GJ_AK v3 10.0 Night for night. Restart Primo and the overview interface will be the new skin. Also, go to Sound and Warnings, voice recognition and disable voice recognition. This feature does not work (on anyone's unit regardless of make) unless it comes stock. It will remove the microphone icon on the overview screen. After choosing a Voice language that is a TTS Voice (street names announced) you can enable TTS Pro features (Read out route summary, ect).

  2. Ryar, take a look at this link:

    http://www.hjgode.de...keyboard-codes/

    maybe can help

    Thanks, it looks similar to the AEKMapScan I used to map the buttons in the sys.txt. It seems as though all buttons are passed through Primo to the Pioneer shell when the MainMenu is running. In this case the menu button brings up the Top Menu (where there is no way to return to Primo) and all other buttons are non-functional. When MainMenu is not running Primo uses the sys.txt mappings which allows the buttons to work. I really don't know where to go from here! We really need to find where the buttons are controlled when the MainMenu program is running, so we can set them up properly. Ideally if we can do this we can map the "Menu" button to minimize Primo (easy to do inside the Primo's sys.txt, it would be xC4 = "Minimize"), and the "Map" button to Maximize leaving the "MainMenu" running in the background (Would be xC3 = "SWITCH_MAP_COCKPIT" if Primo controls the buttons while minimized). I dug through Leetlauncher and the Russian mod to try and find how they mapped the buttons differently but didn't see anything obvious. I guess i'll play around some more when I have some time, in the meanwhile if someone knows what file controls the buttons, please share!

    Also, when the MainMenu process is closed I can verify music still plays (tried off SD on my f500bt) and the volume is controlled by Primo. The volume dial even works with the pesky MainMenu process killed!

  3.

    ryar, do you mean that even the MAP button is working after terminating MainMenu.exe?

    How about the TEL.exe applcation, no more access to bluetooth?

    How to switch to AV.exe now?

    Thanks.

    Map is within Primo, brings you to navigation menu. Tel and AV are still running, not sure how to access them however. The download in post #1 does not include a kill for mainmenu. It looks like it may be a compromise at this point.

    ryar, thank you for sharing ...

    Is GJA's skin for v1.2 having the same look and feel as the one (v2.6) for Primo v1.1?

    It looks great, most GJ settings are controlled through Map Settings now.

  4.

    Well, finally found the gimmick for the sound to work again.

    Very simple and I found that out purely at random, after inserting an USB key with music in that and the A/V was automatically looking to play those songs, and the Primo sound went back to life!

    So USB, SD (or maybe iPod) music has to be played when running Primo to have sound, but Radio alone is not enough.

    Weired behavior but that is it!

    Enjoy! :)

    Wow, good find!

    New download on the 1st page, changes include:

    AVICmod 09.13.11 - Updated to Primo version 1.2, new GJ skin included. Hard buttons working, but only when booting off testmode on SD. Voices omitted, see post #2 for links. All TTS Pro voices now working!

    It seems as though Primo is passing through the hard buttons and not recognizing them. Menu takes you to the stock menu, no way to get back though. I think I'm gonna be booting off SD from now on, the hard buttons are sure nice to have! I played with the [debug] catch_all_keys = 0 ; 0=No 1=Yes (I suppose) command but with no luck getting them working. Any ideas how to get Primo to use the buttons?

  5.

    No lucks! I don't know what was happening. No sound!

    When I exit Primo with the Power icon, the unit reboots! This didn't happen before but now is everytime ... in TestMode it doesn't reboot but still no sound, everything are unmuted!!!

    Everything else works though.

    Mine always rebooted when exiting with power buton, just minimize didn't reboot the unit. Are you sure that is new behavior?

    ryar, you said that you tried Primo 1.2 and didn't like it. Can you share the link for 1.2? I am tired with the sound problem of v1.1.

    Thanks.

    I will shortly, just have to make sure it is stable.

  6. Damn, I started to have problem with the key sound and voice, in fact, no sound at all when in Primo, even after restoring the previous sys.txt and "save" folder.

    Any clue?

    No, I have been running with Primo for a month or so now with no issues. I see there are entries for sound in the data.zip under config\devieces\pioneer749uc, for example. The list below denotes what files exist there. Maybe enter in the sys.txt what your device is? eg:

    [device]

    ;type="PIONEER746UC" ; US F700/900/710/910

    ;type="PIONEER746EW" ; Euro F700/900/710/910

    ;type="PIONEER749EW" ; Euro F500

    type="PIONEER749UC" ; US F500

    ;type="pioneer avic-f500ew"

    ;type="pioneer avic-f500uc"

    ;type="pioneer avic-f900ew"

    ;type="pioneer avic-f900uc"

    Take away the ; for your device and put a ; in front of the others.

  7.

    Great, it works. But what now? You cannot go back to Primo easily ...

    It would be great to make the MAP button works as well :).

    What file controls the mapping of buttons when ezrider is not at the forefront ie. when in the menu screen? Leetlauncher has them mapped custom, so they are possible to mod. If we could have the map button trigger a mortscript file which uses an 'if' command to see if ezrider is running to send it there or to Primo if it is not. I learned a little from some mortscript files in the Russian mod, it doesn't seem as though it would be that difficult. If anyone knows where the buttons are controlled from, it would be of great help!

    Ryar, I can't launch Primo with the Windows CE 5.0 Emulator. Did you succeed to doing so?

    Never tried yet.

    On another note, I see there is a GJA skin for Primo 1.2. Didn't try it yet, but will see how it works and upload it when I get a chance. I have all the voices working from Primo 1.2 on my Tilt 2, maybe we can be rid of Samantha once and for all!

  8. ryar, there is another mean to do so: you first launch Explorer, so you will have a bottom status bar, then you launch Primo.

    Within Primo, you show the highest level menu, then press the red power button, then click on MINIMIZE. Primo will reduce itself into a taskbar icon, which is much better if you want to go back after performing Top Menu operations (i.e. not have to wait 30 or 60 seconds, fix delay).

    To restore Primo, just click on its icon.

    I can modify my mod to auto-launch Primo if wished, when I have time to mess with ... let me know if your people are insterested.

    Hi Chuck,

    I understand that you can minimize Primo to view the Top Menu and then go back through Explorer, however this is tedious and requires the use of a stylus and is not safe to do while driving. I just wanted an option that is finger friendly!

    I'm not sure how many other people are interested, but an auto launch would be great!

    Man, I searched high and low on how to map the hard buttons and had no luck. It seems the iGO8 method does not work (FFkeymap and keybind inside data.zip) and modifying the sys.txt has not worked either. Do you have any ideas, Chuck?

    edit: It looks like Amigo had done away with the keybind inside the data.zip. Keys are set up through the sys.txt in such a fashion:

    [keybind]

    ; x0D="TOGGLEMUTE"

    xA8="TILTDOWN"

    xA6="TILTUP"

    xAE="VOLUMEDOWN"

    xAF="VOLUMEUP"

    ; x26="ZOOMIN"

    ; x28="ZOOMOUT"

    xD5="ROTATELEFT"

    xA7="ROTATERIGHT"

    I ran AEKMapScan and put the results in the sys.txt both as 00A8 and xA8 for example and still no luck.

  9. It is now possible to reach the (stock) Top Menu through Primo. This will allow for changing the backlight, AV source and various other settings that Primo does not control. The procedure is a little unorthodox however but should do for now until a better substitute is found. To reach the Top Menu in Primo from the overview screen, press Menu (bottom left), then More, then External Programs. You will have 2 options, Top Menu 30 seconds and Top Menu 60 seconds. Press one of them and the Top Menu will come up for the allotted time and then automatically restore Primo. I will put these files in the main file but in the meanwhile the files that need to be added are available in the link below. Download, unzip, copy to SD card and then replace files on unit.

    TopMenu.rar

  10.

    I am having this problem during normal driving, not navigating. I have a feeling that Primo auto-zoom when get close to an important/big intersection or highway split, even when NOT navigating.

    Can anyone confirm this?

    That is weird, I never noticed that problem. Did it happen before deleting the save folder? Like I said, mine was acting a little funny after doing so but it seemed to be while navigating.

  11. Hi, I have a problem - 1, does not sound at Primo

    2, says that looking for satellites and yet are found ....

    P. S. Thank you for your work.

    It should be seeking satellites, it took mine quite a bit longer then normal the first time. If the message on the top of the overview screen reads LOOKING FOR GPS SIGNAL then it senses your GPS receiver, if it didn't it would read DETECTING GPS RECEIVER. If it doesn't get a signal after 15 minutes with a clear view of the sky while stationary maybe reboot and try again. Oddly when I tried to run Primo atop Chucks mod it would not detect the GPS reciever, this is why the exrider process is killed upon launch.

    As for the sound, maybe you muted accidentally? Tap the top right icon for the overview, then the speaker on the bottom left of the next screen.

    Chuck posted that if the save folder is deleted then sound won't play, if your unit wasn't muted unzip and add this folder to My Flash Disk\APL2\Primo: SAVE.rar

    The map tilt level change by itself sometime, don't know why yet, v2.6 Data.zip or the one that was included initially. :?

    Any clue?

    In GJA settings, then Overview Settings I believe there are settings for overview zoom level and overview distance on. Maybe it is zooming in as you get closed to your next maneuver, and zooming out after you turn?

    I noticed strange behavior after deleting the save folder, which seemed to go away after putting it back in.

    Very strange ryar, if I delete the SAVE folder, I cannot get sound, even after building a new one with Primo.

    If I use your SAVE folder, I get sound.

    X710BT.

    Any clue.

    I just followed GJAs instructions and deleted the save folder, it looks like we need it after all. I will re-upload with an included save folder.

  12. Try doing the following (you've probably already tried it but ....)

    . Start up normally Avic

    . Select a radio

    . Click "Map"

    . In Chuck's choose "Primo"

    . Does the radio stops working?

    I can not do this test because I have installed the "Diaftia's mod" on my F900BT

    Best regards

    I'm not really sure, unfortunately. I have a F500BT which I only use for a gps so I couldn't tell you if the radio stops working. Note that when Pirmo is launched, only the ezrider process is killed. AV and Main Menu are still running in the background. Do you know what process the radio is? If it isn't part of ezrider then it should stay on.

  13. Congrat ryar for your contribution.

    I answered your questions in my thread for the icon.

    BTW, I downloaded the Primo v1.1 GJA's mod v2.6 through mobilepassion, just the data.zip, and testing it now. Perhaps you should also replace the data.zip of your RAR with the most up to date one ...

    Thanks!

    Sweet, I will check it out, thanks. I couldnt even imagine how GJA could make it any better!

  14. Main Package

    http://hotfile.com/d....11.11.rar.html

    Voice Files

    Below are link to the English TTS voice files. Download, unzip, copy to SD, copy to Primo folder in My Flash Disk.

    http://hotfile.com/d....part1.rar.html

    http://hotfile.com/d....part2.rar.html

    Other Files

    For those of you who would rather launch off Diaftia's mod download the files below and copy them over "my flash disk". A small icon will appear on the top menu upon startup, simply tap it to launch Primo.

    Primofordiaftia3.6.rar

  15. By copying the below files you can try out Primo on your unit. Be warned, you will not have the same functionality that you did with the original iGO. With a f500bt this is not an issue as I only use mine for a GPS, nothing else. With other models which are used for radio, ect some of these abilities may be restricted while Primo is running. Primo does not replace the stock iGO on your GPS, launching it merely ends the process of ezrider and then starts Primo. Upon a reboot of the unit all original functionality is regained and the unit will load normally.

    Warnings

    Before attempting install and run Primo make a complete backup of your current AVIC My Flash Disk just in case something goes wrong. You are and only you are responsible for your AVIC! Note I have tested it on a F500BT and I am not sure how it will behave on other units.

    Launch Options and Installation Instructions

    At this point, you have several options to launch Primo;There are some caveats with each, they will be described below.

    Option #1: If you use Diaftia's mod downlaod the main package and the update in post #2, and copy to your unit.

    Option #2: Install Chuck's latest Mod. See post #1 of his thread: http://avic411.com/i...ted-2011-07-15/ You will have to launch Chuck's Mod and start Primo through a shortcut in his Apps #2 menu. Using this option your AVIC will still allow the back-up camera to kick in when in reverse, and the unit will properly go into standby when the vehicle is turned off. Chuck has reported that X710BT, AV playing fine, able to switch between radio and SD MP3 music. **TTS voices are no longer included, see post #2 for link. Chuck has included this version of Primo in his latest update.

    Option #3: Use the provided testmode to auto-launch Primo when your unit is turned on. This method can be used with any mod, for those of you who are not using Chuck or Diaftia's mod. Note that if you launch this way the unit will turn off and restart when the ignition is turned off/on and the unit will not go into standby.

    To launch using this method, follow the directions below:

    Option #3:

    1. Download the AVICmod file from the link in option #1.

    2. Unzip, copy to SD Card. Insert card into unit. If you are using another Mod beside Chuck's, delete the ui_pioneer folder (found in ALP2\iGo\ ui_pioneer) from the SD card before copying to your unit.

    3. Boot you AVIC. From the SD card, copy the Primo folder (SD Card/My Flash Disk/APL2) to you unit (My Flash Disk/APL2). Ensure a path exists on your unit which is My Flash Disk/APL2/Primo/Primo.exe.

    4. Download this file: Testmode.rar

    5. Unzip, copy to SD card. Insert in unit, boot and Primo should launch upon startup.

    There are other methods to use Primo on your device (such as the Russian mod, found here: http://avic411.com/i...__1#entry221492 ).

    Important Notes - read on

    To enable sound on your unit put in an SD card with music on it before launching Primo.

    Enjoy everyone! Please provide some feedback and feel free to offer any advice on how to better integrate Primo into our units.

    Thanks to the creators of GJA for modding this awesome version of Primo and to Chuck for his awesome mod, and for dedicating so much time to help people with their AVICs.

    Changelog:

    -AVICmod 10.11.11 - Chuck's UI files removed as he has provided Primo as an update in his thread, a few other tweaks.

    -AVICmod 09.22.11.2 - Chuck's autolaunch is now included.

    -AVICmod 09.22.11 - Cleaned up sys.txt file, soft key enabled in stock Top Menu to bring you back to Primo, many schemes deleted to save space, HardKeyTest file included (launch through quick menu/external programs) to enable hard buttons within Primo; buttons restored to default upon reboot.

    -AVICmod 09.13.11 - Updated to Primo version 1.2, new GJ skin included. Hard buttons working, but only when booting off testmode on SD. Voices omitted, see post #2 for links. All TTS Pro voices now working!

    -AVICmod 09.10.11 - Updated data.zip, GJA 2.6. Primo Icon in Chuck's mod now working. Save file deleted, all settings are default.

    -AVICmod 09.09.11 - Original

  16. ryar, in the meantime before you can start a new thread, I made an icon for your Primo link from my mod v3.3. You can use this code instead of your in chuck88.ui:

    <script sc_run_primo>
    run sc_run_base_mortscript
    100 run 'START_APPLICATION "Extension\CwGoPrimo.mscr" ""'
    </script>

    Then change the name of the icon link (2 places) in chuck88_800_480.ui to the one attached herein. Don't forget to rename your CopyTool.mscr to CwGoPrimo.mscr under the Extension folder.

    You can safely delete CopyTool.exe.

    I am having a little trouble here. I changed the name of your icon to primo and moved it to the extensions folder. In the chuck88_800_480.ui I changed

    ";Chuck88: TBD - Primo

    <BUTTON xxx bmp="CW_icon_explorer.bmp#2" x=498 y=150 z=10 onrelease='run sc_run_Primo' to

    ;Chuck88: TBD - Primo

    <BUTTON xxx bmp="CW_icon_primo.bmp#2" x=498 y=150 z=10 onrelease='run sc_run_primo' ?

    Where is the second spot you are referring to?

    I am getting an error reading the CW_icon_primo.bmp cannot be found, then an out of memory error. I have a feeling I put the icon in the wrong place, where would I put it?

  17. ryar, in the meantime before you can start a new thread, I made an icon for your Primo link from my mod v3.3. You can use this code instead of your in chuck88.ui:

    <script sc_run_primo>
    run sc_run_base_mortscript
    100 run 'START_APPLICATION "Extension\CwGoPrimo.mscr" ""'
    </script>

    Then change the name of the icon link (2 places) in chuck88_800_480.ui to the one attached herein. Don't forget to rename your CopyTool.mscr to CwGoPrimo.mscr under the Extension folder.

    You can safely delete CopyTool.exe.

    I didn't see this til now, thanks!
