  1. Hmm, what units do you guys have? It could be the gyro coming back to haunt us. The f900bt, f90bt, and x910bt all have the gyro. Did you guys move the and ground the mute wire? Did you flash the winCE 6 as directed on the first post of this thread? I don't have the same issue with my f900bt, I wonder why? You could also try deleting all the data in the iGo save folder except the userlist folder.

  2. Nice, good job on the bluetooth odb. Does it auto-connect after pairing the first time or do you have to enter the pin each time?

    I am not sure why the bypass is not working for you. I have the park brake wire grounded on my unit and everything works. If your settings are correct in the data.zip and you have no access to settings while driving perhaps grounding your park brake wire would be the easiest method.

  3. That is how I did it... Primo would just randomly start every time. I ended up doing a wince upgrade and got it installed. Some of my problems are:

    1. I open primo 2.0, then I close it and I cannot go to any other avicnet options because there is lettering in front of the avicnet icon that says I must restart since avicnet is disabled.

    2. I also could not get primo to get a lock on the gps.... And yes I have wince 6.0

    Use a different version of testmode. I would guess the one you are using is set up to auto-launch Primo each time. As for your GPS fix issues, the portsplitter program is required which launches with avicnet. Find a new testmode and launch primo through avicnet and you will not have any issues.

  4. Ok so I tried to update it. I went into testmode and as i was in there, primo started up... I then pressed menu and it went back into the testmode screen, so I then deleted my old flash disk to copy over the new one. It stopped because it could delete the maps because they were in use by primo which I guess was still in use, What am I doing wrong?

    Close Primo before copying the maps. Make sure no programs are running before copying or you won't be able to delete/copy over files as they may be in use.

  5. Good catch PMS, I guess somewhere along the line I changed hobd.exe to hobdrive.exe. Alternately you could have done the same rather then change all the scripts, my apologies for sharing a script which did not work without modification..

    I commented the commands to wait for hobdrive to start and used a delay because I didn't have much luck with the wait commands and if Primo tries to launch while hobdrive is still loading it bogs the unit down and it is not usable for a longer period of time.

    One other thing I have discovered recently regarding the OBDII reader. Initially I left it plugged in my car and after not driving for a few days it had drained down the battery! I did a little reaserch and it turns out the elm327 I had purchased was pre 1.4b and at that time they did not have a standby mode. I got a new one delivered recently (version 1.5a I believe) and when it is plugged in and the ignition off the single red light dims indicating it is in standby. I have not had any issues with the battery draining since and have installed it hidden under the dash out of sight.

    Has anyone tried a bluetooth elm327? I have played with the bluetooth stack included in avicnet (with a usb dongle) and am curious if the OSBII works. It may require manually pairing each time which would make this method a hassle compared to the usb method. I appears as thought the bluetooth stack does not support A2DP, unfortunately. That would sure make my day if someone could figure out how to stream audio from my phone to my avic!

    djluis2012: Thanks for your support! I feel more compelled to share and help others on this forum when there is activity here.

  6. You know what... i think you guys are right, must be the partial startup. Made sure I start the car right up the last 6 times i've started it now and it hasn't happened a single time. Good catch guys, thanks!

    Going to try and get the italian forums UI tweaks added to mine. If I get it all working, I'll post up an addon zip that ryar can add if he wants..

    Sounds good, I look forward to your addon with the UI tweaks you are using.

  7. Hey Ryar,

    So I purchased the full version and just copied the file contents over my current AvicNet2.1 install as I saw a few Mortscript-type things in there that I'm guessin make it go... and it works great. In fact, it now loads noticably faster. One thing that no longer works (though I'm not 100% that it worked before) is that when I configure HOBD to start with "Hot Button", it does put the icon up in the menu, but it won't initiate the OBD connection till I manually get in and start up the HOBD interface.

    My next step will be to copy MyFLashDisk back to my PC and see what Mortscript or config file changes that enabling that Hot Button changed and see if I can slip HOBD and Primo2.0 in there. Though I did notice up there in your quote that you'd like to share your Mortscript (I could help you out with that :mrgreen: ).

    Sure, I attached a package you can copy over your unit. When it is set up to autolaunch it will take you to the main menu (via simulated key presses), launch HobDrive, kill ezrider, and then launch Primo. A couple other additions are the keyboard icon will appear in HobDrive to make it easier to enter settings and hide the keyboard and an icon will appear while in HobDrive to take you directly to Primo. Note it will only work with the full version of HobDrive due to limitations in the free version (poor performance and different process names, ect).

    Instructions: Unzip, copy to your unit. Make a shortcut by tapping Avic Net, Settings, Menu, Programs, Add. Choose a program name (I use HobD and Primo), choose an icon, and set the Program path. It is: \my flash disk\apl4\hobdprimo\hobdpromo.exe. Choose "Yes" for Autorun with start iGO. Reboot and that's it! Note for the timing and file names I set it up specifically for my unit (I start at the AV nag screen disclaimer) so some small tweeks may be required. Post back, let us know how it works. Good luck!

  8. Is there any way that primo 1.0 can boot as the main gps when the map button is hit?

    I find it annoying to go to the menu button each time to get back to the primo map.

    The buttons are only "seen" by Primo when it is an active window, when it is not they are "seen" by the unit. There are 3rd party programs which can use such as AEKmap but implementing them would be difficult.

  9. - Still getting random AvicNet 2.1 initialization screen followed by a reboot when starting up the car. Doesn't always happen, but maybe 1 out of 3 or 4 times it does.

    - Still starting up to the main screen instead of the last used AV source screen frequently.

    Hi Mach1Chris, I noticed if the unit is in the process of booting and then the unit is interrupted (key on/off) it will initialize on the next start-up. Could this be the cause of your frequent initializations?

    The AV is a pain and I am having the same issue, hopefully someone can figure out how to load to map or main menu.

  10. Any chance this would work on a AVIC Z120BT?

    hey guy, just wondering. I upgraded my X920bt to v3.0, will this mod work on my H.U. ?

    No, so far as I know it will work on the following only: F500BT, F700BT, F900BT, F90BT, X710BT, and X910BT. You can try and launch the HOBD standalone from the winCE desktop, but you will need the drivers installed first. They are in the HOBD package on post #1. Good luck!

    The only problem - does not work parot - software found ....

    Your welcome Patper! What do you mean by the parot does not work?

    On another note, do you know the which bmp file is for the AvicNet 2.1 at "Top Menu" screen?

    Jimbo

    I believe they are in the MainRes.res

    The only problem I have is that I can't get tts voices to work in IGO.

    If I select selena, I get the ding but no announcement.

    I have the voice files and the scansoft directory. What am I missing ?

    To be honest with you Blankers I never even tried TTS on the stock iGo so I'm not sure why it isn't working. Maybe try copy them onto your unit again, select the non TTS voice, reboot, then select Selena? Beyond that I don't know what else you could try.

    I think Ryar has developed it on f500bt and f900bt.

    What's under my skin now is that HOBD seems to take quite a while to start up; not only to start up initially, but if I go to navigation and then go to switch back to HOBD via the engine icon that's on the main menu (cool feature by the way). I am going to try replacing with the full paid version so maybe that could change things, but is there any sort of tweaking that might allow me to switch back and forth a bit quicker?

    Also, no matter where I am at in the menu systems or navigation when I shut down, my unit always starts up on the AVSource page of whatever source it's playing. For short trips I just leave it on iGo so I'd prefer it to launch to map. I figure that's got to be configurable, but my searches are not bearing fruit lately. Is there a good thread that discusses the basic iGo menu configuration?

    Hi PsychoMcSatan, thanks for all your informative posts. Please note I didn't really develop anything, I just found this Russian mod and translated bits and pieces of it to English, as well as customized some areas of it to suite my needs. The real credit belongs to the Russian geniuses who developed it.

    I am also having the issue of the unit starting at the AV screen. I wrote a mortscript file which auto-launches hobdrive then Primo 2.0. I would like to share it, but there are differences in the hobdrive free version and paid version and for some reason the free version slows the unit to a crawl with Primo 2.0 running simultaneously. Also, the task name for the paid version is hobdrive while the free version is /hobd which mortscript simply will not recognize (perhaps the / is messing it up). Anyways, if you find a way to have it launch to the map or main menu screen please share.

    I believe the reason hobdrive takes awhile to launch and even display after it is running is because it uses .NET Compact Framework. There is no way around this that I am aware

  11. Thanks Ryar, I'll give it a shot. Hopefully it solves the SD card issue I'm having. Few questions: 1) Is the uploaded version defaulted to NA setup? ie: is the sys.txt for the "UC" version? 2) Are the XM files and VBT files included? 3) Are you using an F900BT? If not, which model? Thanks!

    The device is selectable in the sys.txt. It is set by default: type="PIONEER746UC"

    The VBT files are included (APL2\VBT), I am not sure about the XM files however. Where are they usually located? Note this mod is Russian originally so it may take some work to get it to work fully-functional with our NA units. How is XM/Sirius running off our units? I just use a portable unit and connect it via an AV cable.

    I use a NA F900BT in my car but also have a F700BT and 2 F500BTs for testing. I can't help myself when a unit is stuck in a boot loop and sells on ebay for dirt cheap ;)

  12. Thanks Ryar.Great that you are still continuing to share your work with us.

    Thank you ovalball for continuing to answer questions and help others in these forums! I'm glad there is still interest here and that with our "old" avic units we are able to run programs such as Primo and Hob Drive which even the newest aftermarket in-dash GPS units are incapable of doing (thanks to manufacturers going out of their ways to make them mod-proof). Long live the AVIC411 community!

  13. I uploaded the version of avic net 2.1 which I have been using for the past few months. I trimmed it down and only included Primo 1.0 and 2.0, gone are OziExplorer, Garmin, and TomTom. The driver for the OBD II reader now auto-loads so you don't have to run the driver CAB file every time you hard reset. Details are on post #1. Please post any bugs you find. Note Primo 2.0 still does not have working sound regardless of sound or working hard buttons; Primo 1.0 has these features working which is why I left it in. You can now use the avicnet menus while Primo 2.0 is running. Enjoy!

    Edit: I hope this works for both NA and EURO users (I can confirm if does for a NA unit), please post and let me know if you are having any issues.

    Make sure to read the change log!

  14. Hello ryar,

    I have read what you wrote and I'm sorry if you thought this.

    However I have updated my guide on the Italian forum, quoting your name in the OBD program.

    As has also written Mach1Chris, I had already quoting avic411 in the guide and in various posts of the thread.

    Believe me, it wasn't my intention to get a merit that I haven't, I only translated the program in Italian. My only intention is, and remains, to share with as many people as possible these great mod for our nav, I never asked a cent and I never will, only then you could give me of thief... don't you think?

    Fair enough. Take what you will, all I ask is you give credit to those who have worked hard and were kind enough to share with others.

  15. Thanks for the info. I've been using AVICnet 2.1 (Russian source) for the past 4 months or so and haven't noticed any vast improvements. One nice change is when you change the language to English it now changes all the menus as well, and there is no need to comb through the ui_pioneer folder and files to translate. For those who are interested in newer versions of AVICnet follow the forums on forum.gps-club, the link is here: http://forum.gps-clu...p?showforum=349. Use Google chrome to translate. Keep in mind it is a Russian program therefore anything you find elsewhere is dated and has been taken from the Russian forums originally. What I am really hoping for is that they mod the primo.exe file for Primo 2.0 so that we can have fully working sound and buttons.

    I really wasn't pleased with Bagua's wording when he added the OBD to his version of the mod as it appeared as though he took credit for the hard work despite the fact that he just took everything from this thread. Understanding the drivers and getting them to work took me hours of work and frustration, not to mention finding an OBD II program that would work with winCE which was visually appealing and not grossly outdated.

  16. Hi friends!

    Maybe I'm totally stupid, but I can not figure it out how to do it .....

    You can not enter the menus with Primo 2.0 running. It is possible if you used some low memory requierments settings in the sys.txt and did not kill the ezrider process. You would also need to prevent the soft reset "button" program from running when Primo is launched. If you would like to do this, delete or comment out the following lines in the My Flash Disk\APL2\Primo3\Run\primo.mscr file:

    kill ("ezrider")

    kill ("ezrider.exe")

    and

    Run(SystemPath("ScriptPath")\"Button\softreset.exe" )

    As for the low memory requrement settings in the sys.txt, start by adding these lines and adjust them if you are still having issues:

    [debug]

    max_memory=35000000

    reserve_memory=1700000

    cache=600000

    On another note, Ovalball for some reason the link you gave with the voices for Primo 2.0 did not work for me, perhaps due to my IP address beinging in North America? If it isn't too much trouble could you please re-up it? My SSD bit the dust awhile back so I lost alot of files and whatnot :(

  17. I've tried that with no luck...I am able to enter the service menu select Format SD and it starts to read/write the WinCe. Sometimes it gets to 65% and sometimes it gets to 100%, but regardless it goes back into a boot loop.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    John

    Are you copying all the files back onto your unit after updating winCE? If so and it is still in a boot loop try using a different SD card as it may be corrupting the files. Make sure you are copying all the required files and not just the supplied files for a mod. The FX 3.1 thread will supply you with everything you need.

  18. Hi there Patper! For your camera problems probably the best solution would be to install from scratch and after all your settings and favorites are set up back up your my flash disk in case you start having issues down the road. I run Primo 2.0 and my f900bt changes to and from the back camera without issue when reverse is engaged, I'm not sure specifically why you are having this problem.

    You can't enter the avicnet menus while Primo 2.0 is running; part of the launch process kills ezrider in order to free up memory. If you need to change any settings from within the avicnet menu screens make sure to do so before launching Primo 2.0.

    I have never used mapchanger, depending on what skin you are using it may be worthwhile to visit a forum where the skin is located for directions on how to use it. I found the following info with a quick google search, hopefully it helps:

    Mapchanger operation

    You should have the maps from the different map providers in separated subfolders within the Content folder. I presume you have currently one map folder in Content folder. Prepare two additional: the map_nt and map_ot. Copy the TeleAtlas maps to the map folder, the Navteq maps into the map_nt and the other (e.g. local CEE map providers) maps into the map_ot folder. Finally include the below section into your sys.txt as well. Take care about the name of your storage media in the path! Wayteq devices call the (micro)SD cards SDMMC.

    [switchmap]

    changer="\SDMMC\Primo\Utility\MapChanger.exe"

    1=",map_ta,\SDMMC\Primo,,"

    2=",map_nt,\SDMMC\Primo,,â€

    3=",map_ot,\SDMMC\Primo,,â€

    During the operation no maps are copied at all. The application mapchanger changes only the name of the map folders. The folder holding the actually selected map set is named: map, the other two are map_ta or map_nt or map_ot depending on the selected one.

    Good luck Patper!
