  1. Hey Chuck, hows it going? Are you using any HNR files (pre-defined routes) with Primo? If so, did you find any for Canada specfically or are you using the NA HNR files which are 50 MB each (200 total, ouch)? Do you notice a difference? I just found some newer maps and whatnot here, I didn't realize there was an update til now and have not tried any HNR files yet. Any thoughts?

  2. Hi there! I was trying to download these files as they aren't included in Chuck's mod. Could you upload them again? Thanks a lot for all the work you've done here!

    My SSD crashed and I don't seem to have a backup for the voices, I lost alot of other important files too! :( Could someone upload them and I will change the link on the 2nd post?

    Hi Ryar and others,

    I was just thinking: maby there is some win ce fm tuner program available that runs from SD? So we can navigate with primo 2.0 listen to the radio and have voice announcements.....

    I've just looked around and found a programm PowerRadio 2.3.2.0 (just google it) but have no idea on how to get it running form SD.

    Hope this might resolve the no soud issue.

    Cheers Ragstar

    It sounds like a good idea, I see that power radio is for HTC devices however so I am doubtful our hardware will work with this program. Honestly, 95% of the time I know where I am driving and mute the TTS anyways, the other 5% of the time I use Primo 1.0 with working TTS regardless of audio source. I guess I am happy with things and am not ambitious enough to spend anymore time on this.

  3. Thank you Ryar, I did get IGO to grab the Map From the SDcard by Putting this code under folder

    content="Storage Card\Content"

    However I try doing the same step to primo and it doen't work.

    Not sure bud, it should work if the lines in the sys.txt are deleted. Since Primo shares content with the stock iGo, why not run if from your units flash disk? It takes minimal space without content.

    I know this is going to sound greedy...

    Has anyone managed to get TMC working in Primo 1.0? I've got it working in 1.2 and 2.0 but I'd really like to have it in 1.0 as well as that one comes with audio enabled automatically.

    Alternatively, are there any signs of 1.2 or 2.0 getting audio to work automatically (ie without playing an audio file from the scdard before launching).

    Not sure about TMC but we need someone comfortable with decomplining exe files in order to get audio to work regardless of source. I have an idea where the issue lies but am not skilled enough to pick apart an exe. As our units are aging there is less interest in modding them, at this point unfortunately it appears as though we will not get sound working in 1.2 and 2.0.

    Too bad, I was playing with one of Pioneers new in-dash GPSs at the store the other day and the stock gps program is terrible compared to Primo IMHO. A good example of how newer isn't always better.

  4. Ah, dang it, got the VSS issue with PRIMO.

    Just to be clear.

    1. Unhook VSS wire.

    2. Hard reset.

    3. Restart unit and open PRIMO

    4. Once GPS is locked I can reconnect VSS?

    Is this correct?

    The VSS doesn't matter, it is the gyro which is the problem on the f900bt. You can hook it up and it will work fine.

    I use diMkaWA P1.51 skin and didn't have the frame rate problem. Make sure that you use the GJ skin destinated for Primo 2.0.

    I wouldn't say there is a framerate problem, I was just making an observation Primo runs smoother without custom skins.

    Alright, sorry for the questions, but when I haven't hacked in awhile, I get a little mixed up. I am trying to put PRIMO 2.0 on this thing now to check it out. I put the Prim3 folder in the APL2 folder and no Primo 2 icon. So I deleted everything out of the APL folder except iGo folder with maps, etc and installed the PRIMO3 folder and still nothing. Could you direct me a bit, please?

    Make sure to copy the files in the USER folder, these are the ones which will give you the new icon to Primo 2.0.

    main package links not working?

    I will re-upload this weekend sometime. Thanks for letting me know.

  5. can someone help me I'm trying to run the app of my SD card, I try the step in the installation post but it doesnt since to work for me or I would like to put the content folder on my sd card and have IGO and Primo Grab it form there. If Anyone know how to do it plaese reply with the code so i can copy and pasted on Sys.text under folder. Any help will be appreciated. thank you

    Make sure to delete all lines under (FOLDER) in the sys.txt. Primo will then look in the content folder for maps, ect.

    Please excuse my unknowing. Is there a specific model we need to look for when downloading maps for TomTom or Garmin? I didn't see any specifics on that.

    Also, is there a way to make the PRIMO the default map? When I load Primo, it loads the Primo w igo8, when I hit map, it reverts back to the w/o igo8 map look?

    Going to try this out, just installing now. Coming from Abb's mod that has been installed for over a year, needed a change for a bit. Looks good, hope it runs good. Installing on a f90bt.

    For TomTom the maps must be activated to your specific unit which is a bit of a process, do a google search and it will yield results on how to do this. I got the maps working and then deleted them to make room for more content for Primo, TomTom is lightyears behind Primo IMHO and not worth the space for maps. For Garmin it is a little easier, you can located and download pre-activated maps.

    The button mappings only work on Primo 1.0, however for 1.2 and 2.0 the buttons will have the same functionality as stock. It seems NNG is buckling down with newer versions of Primo to handicap many functions on devices which were not originally shipped with Primo.

  6. Hey Ryar,

    Just happen to pass-by and glad to see you're doing great. You're almost the only one right now to make the forum run and everyone owes that to you. Continue my friend! :)

    I see that you have also made Primo 2.0 working great too and I'm really interested to see its new functionalities. I would incorporate it to my existing mod instead of using AVICnet though, but I believe that it would be only for my own usage, since my thread is now almost dead!

    Not too late still can say Happy New Year to everybody!

    Chuck.

    Hey Chuck, it's nice to hear from you! Happy belated holidays to you as well. Unfortunately there are few new features with Primo 2.0 however I find it to run much smoother with higher fps which is a welcome and impressive change. A few things I have noticed, the upload on this thread has a custom skin built in. One thing I have found is after updating to GJ's newest skin Primo wasn't quite as snappy, be warned it is best to use it as downloaded for best performance. I haven't attempted to get TTS working with 2.0 however for those having issues make sure to use TTS files which worked with 1.2 and not 1.0. I believe they are on the 2nd post of the Primo thread.

  7. Hope I'm not being a numpty by asking, but with Primo 2 the POI seem to be a bit scrambled. I can't get speed cameras to appear (which isn't a POI I know but still...), some don't appear, others appear but are not designated as what they are, ie I get a Bar for a Parking? This isn't consistently so, but is there an issue, or have I missed something?

    Hmm, I didn't notice any difference. I only use 1 POI file, I believe using multiple map files with Primo has caused other grief in the past. Maybe try just 1? You can comment out or delete the lines for the shared POI filets in Primo's sys.txt file. It is:

    poi="..\..\IGO\content\poi"

    You can then add which POI files you wish to the Primo3\content\poi folder. Hopefully this will help, if not try deleting existing POI files and udpating.

  8. after installing hobd driver and copying everything from that folder i cant get the obdii working i have f900bt and the same elm adapter connected to the usb of my unit wanter to make sure that i have connected it to the right usb dont know if there is a usb in the back of my unit.. any help would be appreciated i tried different port numbers could not get it to work..

    OK, try these steps in this order:

    1) Install driver (cab file)

    2) Soft Reset

    3) Check ports (My Flash Disk\System\serialports), make a note of which ports are used.

    4) Plug in OBDII reader

    5) Check ports again (My Flash Disk\System\serialports), OBDII should be on port 3, which was not present earlier.

    6) Run HOBD, select port 3 (assuming serialport program shows OBDII as port 3)

    The driver should auto-load when the OBDII reader is plugged in after the cab file is installed, checking the the serialport program before and after is a good indication if it is recognised.

  9. did just watch this though... VERY impressive and desireable, but he didn't even play any music, lol...

    http://www.youtube.c...bed/gwHOtPJxJd4

    It's the same thing, just an Italian version of avicnet. The creator has been watching this thread and added hobd and Primo 1.0 with sound and buttons which he got here. To answer your previous question all music and bluetooth should work as it did with stock.

  10.

    I looked in the User\userdata\igo\save\userlists\navigation_83.txt and ther is a line there that says: Primo 2.0;;\\my flash disk\\apl2\\primo3\\run\\run.exe;;icons/igoprimo1.bmp#3;0;0.

    So I am guessing that it can't find icons/igoprimo1.bmp#3. Where would I find to see if that is in?

    Jimbo

    Oh, I see what the problem is. I thought Primo 2.0 was giving an error after launching that it couldn't find some files, but it is avicnet missing an icon for Primo. I guess I have an extra icon named Primo1.

    Change:

    Primo 2.0;;\\my flash disk\\apl2\\primo3\\run\\run.exe;;icons/igoprimo1.bmp#3;0;0 to:

    Primo 2.0;;\\my flash disk\\apl2\\primo3\\run\\run.exe;;icons/igoprimo.bmp#3;0;0

    I will update the package, my apologies for the bad shortcut.

    Edit: Updated link in post #2

  11. I found some informations about this mod, It's an alternative to AvicNet. Can anyone provide download link ? I would like to test it because if it worked as well as AvicNet, we can use it to make a release with primo only. Or with some small installation of stock IGO only for booting purpose and kill it after boot. Or not ?

    I couldn't find a link to ExtLauncher 2.3, if you come across one would you please share?

  12.

    I was unable to open navigation when starting. It says "unable to open apl4/icons/igopromo1.bmp. I can't find the icons folder. Can you point me in that direction?

    Thanks

    Jimbo

    APL4? The application shouldn't need to look for anything in APL4. Did you try the download from post #2? Make sure the Primo3 folder is put in the APL2 directory. Delete the save folder inside Primo3, it could be what is messing things up. Next look at your sys.txt and make sure only the following lines are under folders:

    [folders]

    has_secondary_root=0

    sdcardpath="\my flash disk\APL2\"

    maps="..\..\IGO\content\map"

    buildings="..\..\IGO\content\building"

    dem="..\..\IGO\content\dem"

    poi="..\..\IGO\content\poi"

    New version of AvicNet

    Guide updated

    Main changes from previous version:

    1) First Igo is now available with the audio always enabled (even without the SD card inserted)

    2) Fixed some bugs and add new functionality on Igo First, among the main ones are:

    - Ability to share maps, POI, etc. ... from the same folder of Igo 8 (AVIC).

    - Adjust the functionality of the multi-control wheel.

    - After viewing the image of the rear view, if we were on Igo Igo Primo Primo will remain on ... instead of being in the navigation menu as before.

    - Added new skin (unfortunately not translated right at all in Italian)

    - Added speed cameras in 24 categories, updated in December 2011

    3) Fixed bug button in the main menu that shows TomTom in the foreground.

    4) Added Italian voices (female-male) for TomTom voices + themes + + alternatives to camera navigation arrow.

    5) Added OBDII interface program (to display the control parameters) and translated completely in Italian.

    greetings

    ???

    It seems someone has been keeping an eye on this thread and took all our tweaks and added them to their own AVICnet. Fair enough, hopefully they have something to offer us. Any idea where I can find a link?

    Edit: Found it, it is in the Italian forums. The keymappings I set up in the sys.txt for Primo 1.0 are there, even the lines I commented out while experimenting are intact. The driver for the OBD is the exact same, it looks like they got it here. No Primo 1.2 or 2.0. It is still based on AVICnet 2.03. I'll dig through it when I get a chance and see if there is anything we can use.

  14. Hm, I make some tests today od my avic unit not in emulator. But this release works great in emulator..

    Maybe I make some progress with avicnet on primo. I find modified skin in stock igo8 which included avicnet buttons and scripts. It explains, why avicnet stops working when we kill ezrider.exe from stock proces -> we kill avicnet too, because it's part of igo main menu. One option is remake avicnet skin modifications for primo (avicnet launcher before main igo screen, on something like this) but here is a problem (only for me probably) Primo uses .lua skins, stock IGO have only .ui skin files and second option is to intergate avicnet menu to different place of the system. Something like this :

    TM

    That looks like extlauncher, a different Russian mod from AVICnet. I can't seem to find a copy anywhere, info is on this page but all links are down: http://www.alfessa.n.../121-679-1#6194 and here: http://pioneernavgat...net/?t=3732677.

    Indeed, the avicnet menus are part of the ezrider process which is why they are inaccessible after killing ezrider. Thats why I replaced the AVICnet icon with an icon to do a soft reset. Killing ezrider is a good thing, we need all that memory freed up to run some of the newer versions of Primo. All avicnet menus are in the ui_pioneer folder as you have discovered. If you really wanted to access the menus while running Primo 1.2 or 2.0 you could add the sys.txt commands for running at a lower memory requirement, such as:

    [debug]

    max_memory=35000000

    reserve_memory=1700000

    cache=600000

    However, it will have reduced preformance with these commands in place. To keep the exrider process running you would also need to delete or comment out from the run\primo.mscr file:

    kill ("ezrider")

    kill ("ezrider.exe")

    I think the biggest improvement we could make at this point is to get Primo 1.2 and 2.0 to work with full sound regardless of audio source as the copy of 1.0 in post #2 does. I beleive that would entail modifying the Primo.exe file. By change do you have any experience decompiling exe files?

  15. Thanks for the info on Primo 2.0 Patper, and thanks for throwing it together Timemaster. After killing ezrider I ran it through a 12 hour simulated route last night and didn't get any memory errors. It seems have higher fps while navigating and seems to run smoother. I uploaded it and threw it in post #2 as a 3rd option (Primo3 folder). It only takes about 68 mb. Hopefully some talented modders such as GJ make up some skins for it. No sound without SD unfortunately.

  16. Oh - and I apologize... :oops:

    No need to apologize my friend, thanks for the link! I didn't try it yet with native 800x480 support, just with a stretched lower resolution. I'll give it a go and add it to 2.1 when I upload it, it is newer and runs fairly smooth. By any chance did you find a cracked exe for 9.6.2.209584 on any Czech sites? I can't find anything on any English sites that I frequent.

  17. My double start issue was caused by the voltage drop when I start my 4x4. I fixed it by running the main 12v wire (the yellow wire) from my aux battery (dual battery setup).

    I went 4 wheel driving the other weekend and really liked the Oziexplorer maps, very helpful :)

    The only thing I would like to change is the default igo program with the one from Diaftia's mod as it look better, but I think I read somewhere that it would be too much work to do???

    I would like to get the default as daftia's mod too, I agree that it looks better.

    I believe some custom mods use more memory then others which could mean less for secondary programs such as Primo and OziExplorer, even if all the files in th ui_pioneer are set up to work on Diaftia's it may produce negative results. Hold on a bit, i'll up avicnet 2.1 one of these days when I get a change to finish translating it and whatnot, it has a custom mod preinstalled. It isn't Diaftia's but it is much nicer then stock.

  18.

    Shweeet. Thanks, Ryar!

    Btw, I was wondering. Would there be a fix to my not being able to add Favorites after doing this mod or ABBs v5. I deleted the IGO user settings folder like stated and now I can't enter any favorites. The option is grayed out...

    Deleted iGo user settings? I don't recall doing that. Primo has it's own in Primo/SAVE which is separate from iGo8's. Maybe try putting the files you deleted back?

  19. I don't see anywhere where you can add custom codes in HOBD.

    To answer your other questions,

    1) I wish we could replace iGo8 with Primo, but unfortunately we can't just yet. I tried replacing the stock ezrider.exe with a Primo exe renamed ezrider.exe and Primo does boot but the "System startup, please wait" message does not go away and the unit reboots in about 5 minutes. The system seems to be looking for some confirmation from ezrider that iGo8 booted OK and Primo does not provide that confirmation. I searched and searched but couldn't find anything on how to remove that message, You can set Primo to autostart, it is a minor inconvenience waiting a little longer but at least the unit boots to Primo.

    2) I think Primo was designed for dash-top units with batteries and it seems to get confused and display that message. There are many sys.txt commands and their explanations on many sites, maybe all it would take is the right one to insure that message does not appear. Again, it is a minor inconvenience that wouldn't be worth the time it would take to find a fix.

    3) Maybe, try the auto launch option. The AV windows seem to go overtop of the window to the program they see upon launch (Igo8). Note if it did display that information it would overlap the bottom of the screen where Primo has it's info bar.

    4) That would depend on the skin and their aren't too many fro Primo 1.0, especially for 800x480 devices. When I started using Primo it was on my WiMo phone with it's tiny screen, and large signboards were required to view them properly. Perhaps that is the reason they are so large, because it was made for devices with smaller screens? Funny, I remember preferring to use my Phone for navigation over my AVIC just because I found Primo so user friendly. Anyways, look around and you may find a skin for Primo 1.2 that allows for smaller signboards.

    On another note I see that there are versions of Primo 2.0 available here and there, with licensing issues unfortunately. I can't wait for a cracked version with 800x480 support :)

  20. I copied over the files from Primofordiaftia3.6.rar and I see the icon. the odd thing is when I press it I get a white screen with text:

    "Reset your device to store mappings"

    "keypress 0000"

    I'm running Diaftia and have an X910bt.

    Any help would be great.

    thanks.

    Edit: Helps if you put the actual Primo files on the flash disk not just the skin files. Working now :-)

    Haha, you had me stumped. Glad you got it working!
