  1. Sorry, no. It would involve installing the port splitter and having it auto-launch as well as gpsgate. Gpsgate alone causes the unit to freeze which is why both are required. With avicnet when it gives the message "initializing avicnet, please wait" and it reboots it adds/changes many registry settings including many which are required for the port splitter. If someone could find a way to remove the "System Startup, Please wait" message upon start we could do away with iGo8 completely and replace it with Primo. At that point I would be willing to put in the work to install and auto-laun
  2. You can use that one if you wish. Delete everything in the Primo and Primo2 folders except the run folders and their contents. Copy the contents from the Primo folder in the other thread into the Primo folders of your avicnet. Change the sys.txts to port 6, and add the following lines to the sys.txt in the Primo folder: [debug] max_memory=35000000 reserve_memory=1700000 cache=600000 You do not need these lines in the sys.txt in the Primo2 folder. Can I ask why you prefer that one to the one in avicnet currently?
  3. The full version? Sorry, I don't follow. What do you mean?
  4. Still no fix after the patch on post #3? That's weird because the included files corrected my non-fix issues. You could try a few things, first after installing the patch do a soft reset. Try using the original sys.txt, and then do a Reset to Defaults within Primo. If that doesn't work you can configure gpsgate to give you a different output port settings. To do this tap avicnet, programs, WinCE and then Total Commander. In Total Commader go to My Flash Disk\System\gpsgate\gpsgateCE.exe. The first time you tap it it will launch, the second will give you some options. Choose settings, and
  5. Good to hear! Note if you don't have the utility folder with the proper files in the Primo folder the utility line in the sys.txt won't do anything. I didn't find a difference while using the utility, I think it was implemented for phones running Primo which had their GPS signal cut in and out every few seconds. I had that problem on my Tilt 2. If you disconnect your speed wire Primo will get a fix even while driving (or at least it did in my case).
  6. You can boot Primo automatically using option #3 in the first post of this thread. It is possible to boot Primo automatically off an SD card but I wouldn't recommend it. It will be much slower running off an SD then off the AVIC's my flash disk.
  7. Sorry, I don't quite understand the question. Are you asking if you can install and boot Primo from an SD?
  8. With my unit previously Primo could not get a fix when the vehicle is moving, now after the update it does. If yours still doesn't want to get a fix it is likely an unrelated issue which I have no idea to solve since I do not have the same problem. edit: After implementing the fix I hooked up the speed wire and once again experienced the same issue. It is apparent at this point that the speed signal from the VSS is interfering with Primo's ability to get a GPS fix and display the location on the map. To see if the fix will work for you do a hard reset. Launch Primo and wait for it
  9. Hold up, I found a bug. I will re-up it with the fix shortly. edit: Done!
  10. I believe I've found a fix for f900bt and x910bt users who are having trouble with Primo displaying their GPS location on the map. I have tested it thoroughly on my f900bt and can confirm it fixed the issue. Would anyone like to try it and post back if it worked for them? The files are on post #3 of this thread.
  11. Bad news everyone. I did some more troubleshooting on the display location on the map issue but had no luck resolving it. I sent Chuck a PM and he replied; I was under the impression he was using a x910bt trouble free but it is a x710bt which he is not having issues with. Anyways, I came to the conclusion that Primo does not like the f900bt and x910bt' gps signal while in motion which is possible due to the VSS (speed wire). I tried hooking up the VVS, grounding it, and leaving it disconnected and the result was always the same. With the VSS hooked up the stock iGo sees the speed with no
  12. You can download the tool from this page: http://gpsundergroun...d-protocol.html It is a utility that will find your GPS port, speed and protocol. I never heard of and AVIC F series that ran on another port besides 7 but maybe there are a few exceptions to the rule. Run it from test mode. For myself, all I have on both my f900bt and f500bt as port 7 and baud 9600. You can also look at your backup my flash disk and see what is in the stock iGo's sys.txt.
  13. Download the voices from post #2 of this thread and copy them to the Primo directory. Make sure to copy the tts_nua_v5 folder to the Primo directory and the voice files to Primo\Content\Voice. Check you sys.txt and under [folders] there should not be any commands for tts_nua_v5= or voice=. If there are comment them out (put a ; in front of the command) or delete them.
  14. Copy from the Euro or NA download this folder to your unit: my flash disk\user\userdata\iGo\SAVE\userlists. In that folder there are all the settings for menus, ect to display all the programs on the avicnet menu.
  15. Another solution would be set iGo and Primo2 sys.txt to port 7 in the sys.txt and shut the port splitter off. Make sure to launch Primo w/o iG08 so that the stock iGo is shut down; if it is still running Primo won't see the GPS and give you the "detecting GPS" message.
  16. Hi Jimbo, it looks like you are having the issue discussed in post #70. Start up your unit, do a hard reset after it has launched (it will then restart twice), and start Primo. Make sure you do all this with the vehicle stationary, when you are moving and launch Primo this bug seems to occur. Make sure when you start/stop Primo from now on you are not moving and it will work. You can shut off the car/closePrimo/or exit through the GJ skin, so long as you are not moving.
  17. Nothing in the Italian forums that I can recall. I tried the exact release of Primo from their mod and had the same issue. I am curious if all in-dash units are having this issue or just some. I didn't have it happen to me for the first 2 weeks after I installed my f900bt, I must have launched Primo before starting to drive. The only thing I could find online is that it is a baud issue; I tried several baud settings and had the same issue. I can confirm with certainty that my f500bt is able to launch Primo while driving and that it has not had this bug, and I have been using Primo on it s
  18. If your ports are set to 6 in Primo it is likely your port splitter is not running. Tap Avicnet, then settings, then system settings. Make sure port splitter is set to on. If it is and you are having issues start total commander and go to \my flash disk\system. Scroll down to portsplitter.exe and launch it (double tap). You input should be set to com7, baud 9600 and output to com5 and com6. If it isn't, stop splitter and change the appropriate setting, then start splitter. Tap exit, and relaunch portsplitter.exe. It should have saved the settings you put in and it will auto-launch with
  19. That is a different issue all together. Check Primo's sys.txt and make sure under gps it reads: port=6 and baud=9600. If you shut off your port splitter you need port=7 and have to kill iGo before launching Primo (Primo w/o iGo8). Note Primo w/o iGo 8 is loacted in the APL2/Primo2 folder.
  20. Thanks for the response Jimbo. One more question; does Primo display your position on the map after a hard reset (assuming you are stationary when you launch)?
  21. Well, I found out a little more regarding the not displaying location on the map issue. I can get it to display my location by remaining stationary when launching Primo, and at that point it navigates as it should. If the car is in motion when launching the issue occurs. After it happens once it is only possible to reverse by doing a hard reset (reset button on the face of the unit or hard reset option in Avicnet settings) and remaining stationary until it reboots twice and launches Primo. edit: Upon further testing the vehicle does not need to be stopped for the entire hard reset, jus
  22. Sorry Pat, I don't quite understand what you are asking. Can you please rephrase the question? Edit: A little off topic but what model do you have? Is it a f900bt?
  23. Palexr, thanks for the info on which files you replace to regain the map position. I tried it and it worked once, but not a second time. You are right, deleting the save folder worked yesterday but doesn't seem to every time. What I have found to work best is change the sys.txt to gps port 5, launch, reset to defaults, delete save folder, restart unit, change back to port 6, launch. It worked each time I tried it so far, but it isn't feasible to do every time. I can confirm that each time I allowed the unit to shut down properly it restarted with no issues what so ever and my location is
  24. You should be able to unless they are licensed for your other unit. I remember The microphone can be removed in the settings, but I can seem to find where! In the menu settings you can have iGo close when you start a new application; I don't think it frees up all the memory using this method however. You can put a kill command in the .mscr file for what you are trying to launch. For example, the primo.mscr in the primo2 run folder has the command: kill ("ezrider") kill ("ezrider.exe") which successfully ends the ezrider and frees up most if not all the memory it was using.
  25. It would be nice, but I wonder how many USB wifi sticks come with Windows CE drivers and software? That's good to hear! I am still anxiously awaiting my OBDII reader and have located a few more OBDII Windows CE programs. Man, shipping takes forever from China!
