Not sure what you mean. So what happens if you power up the unit? Do you get the splash screen? Can you eject and remove the SD? Try re-downloading the SD1 image and try again. That has worked for others. Make sure you start with a cleanly formated SD. Probably should use a different SD. Maybe a different brand. Did the 1.002 update work?

We knew you were coming, so we already did it. See post #1. Then continue reading until you get it.

Then change it so you can. You posted this in the hack/mods sub-forum, so I assume you know how to do the bypass. Why the venting? Fix it!!

yeah, Pioneer's web site appears to be down. I googled "Z110-bt manual" and found this link to Crutchfield's web-site. You can download it here. http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/manuals/130/130avic110.pdf Be sure to save the pdf file to your local computer, so you'll have it for future reference. It is much easier to search the file than try to find something in the paper version.

That is not the correct cable. It is not a CD-IU50V. There is no separate mini-plug cable as you show. So the diagrm on pgs 8 & 9. From the HU cable the is a female USB and mini-jack. The CD-IU50V has an ipod connector on one end. The other end splits into a male USB and mini-plug.

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Navigation/AVIC-Z120BT_InstallationManual0129.pdf Here is the Z120-BT Installation manual. What plugs into the back of the HU is the USB & Mini-jack connector. See pg 8. You said So, exactly which headphone plug must you disconnect and reconnect in order to get audio to work? The mini-jack and plug is not a headphone connection, it is the A/V circuits split from the ipod plug. If you have the connections set as shown on pgs 8 & 9, then it sounds like one of your cables is bad.
-
Why are you using the headphone jack? Just use the Pioneer adapter cable that plugs into the bottom of the iPod. It handles control/charging/audio/video. At the other end of the Pioneer cable it breaks out into a mini plug and USB. They both plug into the Pioneer dongle/harness. Wait, by "the ipod cable pioneer gave with the head unit", do you mean you didn't purchase the iPod adapter cable (CD-IU50V - sold separately)? You're not just plugging a standard ipod-USB cable into the Pioneer USB jack, then conneting earphone out to the Pioneer mini-jack with a stereo jumper, are you???? If

Then the amps are connected wrong. Voice only goes to the front speakers. Switch the pairs of RCA cables going to your front amp.

Page 98 of the Z110 manual. That clear enough for you? Other possiblilies, but with the info you've provided, that is where to start.

I'd try re-indexing your VR Catalog with the iPod. Mine does that when the VR data is hosed. 1st, make sure you've taken the "Pledge". You know, that annoying message you have to OK. Set your audio source to iPod. Go to AV System Settings. Make sure "Change Control Mode" is set to "Navi". Go to "VR Catalog Menu". Turn "VR Catalog Mode" OFF. Then turn "VR Cataloge Mode" ON. Go back to the iPod screen. It should be rebuilding the VR Catalog. It could take several minutes. I think those steps will force it to rebuild. You might have to play around with the ON/OFF or restart. Try thi

Intermittent MUTE occuring and can not be disabled...

I don't have or know anything about the PAC itself, but my money is on the Z120 overheating due to the excess heat under the dash. Make sure there is room for the fan in the Z120 to circulate. From the Installation Manual: Do not install this navigation system in places where it may become subject to high temperatures or humidity, such as: — Places close to a heater, vent or air conditioner. — Places exposed to direct sunlight, such as on top of the dashboard. — Places that may be splashed by rain, for example close to the door and When installing, to ensure proper -
I don't see why you couldn't stream any audio from your BB to the Z120 using BT Stereo Audio mode. But I think I recall some people having BT streaming issues, so YMMV. As far as Netflix, only iPhones and some ipods can play video, via cable connector - not BT. So that would pretty much rule out Netflix on BB unless you have a video out jack....obviously I don't have a BlackBury

Mike, Yes, the configuration needs to be changed when you switch between playing iPod videos and the Pandora app. But really, how often are you playing videos from your iPod? I haven't even bothered trying. Honestly, if I was really going to play videos in my 987 (which I'm not), I'd play from SD or DVD. I'd think you'd be too busy in your 911 too BTW, I think - but am not sure - it is possible change from iPod to AV1 on the scrolling source wheel on the left side of the Z120 screen, so you might not have to go into the settings to reconfigure. I notices one of the icons is a toggle. Pr

Did you install ShortFuse's hack?

Duane, Since you bought from EuroMotorSpeed, contact them for help with the VSS and ILL wire connections. In fact, call. Loi (the proprietor) is an expert; he has a Boxster himself. He lives nearby and came to my house to help with the install. In fact, he did most of the hard stuff himself. The down side of that was I was busy doing other things while he hooked up the VSS. I did look over his shoulder and helped route the wire up there. Mine is a 2010 Cayman, but I don't think the ABS harness changed. Ask Loi how to get to the correct wire. I recall him un-wrapping the tape around the wir

Z120BT Screen Motor: Is it too loud?
RonS replied to noiwontsmile's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
The video sound was low, couldn't hear anything objectionable. The mov file sounded like a cow giving birth. Dude, that thing is broke. Mine sounds like a normal DVD drive tray opening. -
Yes, that's the reset I meant. No other ideas. Well, its got a 1 year warranty. Sounds like a call to Pioneer. You didn't buy it on eBay, did you?

It's not much consolation for us, but I've noticed in various high end car forums (BMW, Porsche) that people looking to upgrade factory units are turning away from Pioneer due to the bad street talk about their BT. Most, although initially favoring the Z1x0-BT series, have turned to Kenwood. I hope Pioneer is listening. You can only dazzle people with bling (the new whiz-bang iPod interface) for so long. "Can't hear on the phone? never mind - just watch the shiney Sphere spin. Kool huh." It's not working. People have figured it out!!!

Start with a Factory Reset. Are you saying that your phone isn't even paired. Is the phone turned on? Which menu are you talking about? The one under the Main Menu / Phone? Or teh sub-menus like Dial pad, Contacts?

Speed Pulse Positive Value when Stopped
RonS replied to sthompson11's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Uneducated guess. A few possibilities come to mind. 1. Bad VSS signal. 2. Poor GPS reception/antenna. ie, Bad GPS signal. 3. Bad Ground connection. Try temporarily disconnecting your VSS wire from wherever you have it connected. It really isn't absolutely necessary, and this should eliminate it as the source of your trouble. I'm guessing your Speed Pulse readout will be zero. If not, you may have a short in this wire. However, if this fixes the problem you can either leave it off, or try reconnecting it (to a known good source). If you still are experiencing phantom movement of yo -
Oh, it didn't come with a manual? Here you go. Z120-BT Search for "factory".

OK I see your situation. So, if you can get to the Firware Update screen in Bluetooth Settings, it would be worth a shot to try the SD2 update. Sounds like you've got nothing to loose. Check out the Hacks forum. There are sticky threads that have the info you need. But you only need the second SD. Ignore anything about installing the 1st and any other update. Prepare your SD with the CNSD-110FM SD 2 image, insert it into the AVIC, and update the firmware through the BT settings menu button. Takes about 5 minutes.
-
Wait, is this a real Z120-BT, or an F20-BT with US software installed? I saw your post about asian fonts. What is the history of this hardware? Why no warrantee? Anyway, I don't think I can help you. Something is screwey with your unit.
-
I am assuming that is a rhetorical question. How could I possibly know what went wrong. Do they have any suggestions? Sounds like RMA time.

What is are greyed out? Can you get into the Bluetooth Settings? If not, then you couldn't know what version you have. When I first start my car and enter the settings menu, it takes 10-15 seconds for the Bluetooth icon to activate. Maybe you just didn't wait long enough. Parrot is the company that provides the BT drivers to Pioneer. The latest is v3.11. Since you have 30+ posts, I assumed you have been on this forum long enough to know about the hacks to upgrade the Z110 to Z120 via two SDs. These can be purchased from Pioneer for $200, but pirated copies are also downloadable using Torr
