  1. No Problem ... what really got me drawn to it was the fact their module paired up with a Android/iPhone Mimics Module (Redfly) would allow me to use all the apps on my phone on the screen. Matter fact I emailed their tech support and asked the compatibility question and one tech replied "it can be done but there are a lot of modifications involved" ... So I wonder if it's even worth it.
  2. To all, Has anyone heard of DirectusNav Prodigy One Module ? I was wondering if it can be installed over the Z series ?
  3. No I haven't worked on it yet. But once I get it done, I will mos def post an update, because I'm sure someone else could benefit from it.
  4. Here's how I got it setup now. (see attached drawing)... My homework is to find a (when the car is on) power source somewhere in the back and wire the cam so it'll be on when I try to use the "Backup Camera" feature.
  5. So I guess my best bet is to go with another power source with a rocker switch spliced in. I really appreciate the input.
  6. As a matter of fact, yes it does get its power from the (+)wire of the B/U Light. But if I hook it up to a ACC wire, how's that gonna work with the reverse sensor wire (green), plus having it hooked up to an ACC means that it's gonna reduce the life of the camera because it's gonna be juiced up whenever the car is on even when I'm not using the cam ? Right ? What's ur input on that?
  7. I GOT THE Z110BT, WITH A BACKUP CAMERA WIRED TO THE REVERSE LIGHT WIRES. IT WORKS PERFECTLY WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, ETC... NO PROBLEMS THERE. NOW, WHEN I GO THRU THE MENUS I SEE AN OPTION THAT ALLOWS YOU TO GET A REAR VIEW BUT WHEN I PRESS THAT NOTHING HAPPENS. IS THERE A SPECIAL WAY TO WIRE THE CAM TO GET THIS FEATURE TO WORK WHILE THE CAR IS IN DRIVE OR PARK? HAS ANYONE DONE THIS ?
  8. Yeah it's real tight in there, and it won't come off just by simply plugging your ipod in and out of it. You'll have to progressively get the hole to the size it needs to be to get the tight fit. I started with a 3/8" drill bit. Then You'll have to cut the bottom of the expansion nut cuz there's a threaded metal end to it. you'll need to cut it so you can push the actual jack (from the pioneer H/U) in there. then the rubber washer is just for cosmetic (to match my USB input next to it)
  9. No actually I got the pinout configured but it never worked. Maybe my soldering job might have been crappy. The logic behind it was simple though. instead I did something else: used the actual input from the pioneer headset, and attached it to my dash with some rubber pieces I bought from Home Depot. I posted the pictures in my post previous to this one. Easier that way !
  10. What do you mean by "dont wire to the reverse lights". That's how i got mine wired to work, but I dont get rearview when I try to use Rear view option in Park gear. How you got yours wired ? BTW what's VR ?
  11. If I were you I'd return the PAC-SWIPS and get the Axxess ASWC intead. That way u wont have to deal with programming buttons for the steering wheel. http://www.axxessinterface.com/products.aspx?s=ASWC For the Camera once you pick a spot to install it, just run your (+) and (-) wires to one of your reverse light bulbs wiring to power it up. Your RCA cable is for video off course (it's labeled). The camera wire running from the back of the head unit (purple/white) connects to your back-up cam (+) wire.
  12. After many attempts I couldn't get Plan A to work with the 3.5mm Panel mount and the whole soldering deal, so i went with Plan B. Neoprene Washer & Expansion Rubber Nut
  13. If someone ever put the hack on video while they go through the process, it'll be cool to post it online (youtube) or something.
  14. Yeah, that's where I get to test my patience. I'm gonna cut the cable once I get it and play with the leads position on the Calrad 3.5mm Jack until I get the right pinout before I solder them in place.
  15. If anybody gets the USB Cable (P/N: USBCBL) and install it on their dash. I'd like to see your pictures. BTW I ordered the parts I need to get the 3.5mm A/V Jack fabricated, i'm just waiting for them in the mail. What I'm gonna use: Dorman Nylon Rivet (Part No: 961-055) --- >$2.99 (at your local autozone) Automotive Glue (Part No: 160012) --------- $4.99 (at your local autozone) or any strong glue for that matter. Calrad 3.5mm AV Jack (Part No: 30-712) --------------------- $1.07 (http://store.svideodotcom.com/30-712.html) Any standard mini jack to 3 RCA Cable ----- $0.99 (Ebay
  16. @ RonS, Yeah I did some copying and pasting and a little bit of creation myself to put the diagram together. Thanks for the idea, ... it got me searching the net and found something that might actually do the trick. I found a 3.5mm snap-in jack from CALRAD (Part No: 30-712). I'll have to do a little bit of soldering but this looks promising. But before I start soldering I'll have to figure out the pinout for Pioneer's plug i.e. 1)Ground, 2)Audio Left, 3)Audio Right, 4)Video or 2314 or 2341, etc... So what do you think about it ?
  17. I've looked around and no luck so far. Do you already know of one that could do the trick ?
  18. What's the buzz on getting an alternative to replace this module ? or use this module with another service other than MSN ? has anyone heard anything ? Is anybody working on this ?
  19. Yep rgarjr is right, PAC-Audio iS335 is only a audio cable and not a video. There are 3.5mm jacks with 3 pins and the ones with 4 pins. So when using the Pioneer ipod cable (CD-IU50V) you won't be able to get your videos to work on the Z110BT... you'll hear the sound but no images. I'm working on an alternative. If I complete it successfully, I will post a detail thread of the results. . . it's gonna be some fabrication involved.
  20. I just wanted to share this with y'all, just in case y'all wanted to do something similar in your vehicle. The bottom two inputs are made by PAC-Audio and they sit flush on your dash. Part Number: iS335 (3.5mm input) and Part No: USBCBL (USB input)
  21. I wanna make it look like this picture below. Actually thats what i'm using right now, but because this pac cable only does audio and not video I can't get my ipod/iPhone movies to show on my Z110BT. So here's a picture from the manufacturer: And these are from my installation in my 2007 Ford Expedition:
  22. Excuse my ignorance, i'm new to this forum, but what is cracking this upgrade allow you to do with the Z110BT?
  23. Has anyone found a clean (factory look) way to mount the 3.5mm (iPod Connector) on their dash ? I went with the iS335 or PDM35 at first but it only does audio and not video. Any suggestions ?
