  1. Oh my.. it works! You have really saved the day. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Now I don't have to use my phone to look up addresses anymore, and most importantly... deal with Pioneer's run around tech support.
  2. That's not a bad idea, it certainly would be easier than uploading. I wouldn't mind doing that either.
  3. I think the easiest way at this point is having someone with the newer v2.001 SD card to upload the contents for us. That is if there's anyone willing to do it.
  4. Did they required you to send in the original SD card back?
  5. Yep. I transferred all of the contents from the AVIC-U220_POI.zip file to a completely different card.
  6. Very odd... I've followed the steps on the Pioneer update page exactly also. Pioneer must have changed something on the newer cards to accept the update file (if yours was purchased recently). Hopefully they'll have a fix soon for those of us who still have the error.
  7. What are the exact steps you took? I've just tried downloading the file again from Pioneer's update page and I still get the "Cannot be used with this version" message. The link on my update page points to a file named AVIC-U220_POI.zip, which seems to be the update data for the U220. Is that the same file you've downloaded? I've bought this card way too long ago and would be really nice to finally have the POIs working. Thanks.
  8. The system and map update is actually a $120 SD card from Pioneer. There are updates available on Pioneer's site, however, those are fixes and minor revisions to the existing software.
  9. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to default to the audio source screen. Even with the new system/map software update, the screen will default to the map once the unit is started.
  10. In case anyone is still wondering on an update on the POI update fix, here is the latest e-mail I've received from Pioneer... "Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc. The engineers are aware of this issue. They are close to coming out with a resolution. There is not ETA yet, but should be soon. Your information has been captured under case # 280XXX. You will be notified when there is a resolution."
  11. I would try posting the question in the Z120BT forum. Hopefully someone will be able help you out there.
  12. I haven't fully tested the POI portion while moving, but it does let you choose it, however the only option it lets you choose is "Nearby By" POIs. I haven't gone further than that. I'm assuming it will let you browse and select POIs from the catagories, but won't let you search for a specific business or place.
  13. Wow, what douchebags. Why the hell do they go to such lengths to prevent us enjoying their product? Guess I won't be upgrading then. At least not until somebody finds a work-around. Hopefully one of us can come up with a bypass soon. Hopefully.. I'm wondering if the relay method would work. I've also found that it doesn't entirely block all items from the navigation and phone menu. It seems to only block items that require inputting, such as entering addresses or using the dialpad. So it's not entirely unusable. You can still access your destination history, favorite addresse
  14. Thanks! I will give those settings a try.
  15. Odd. I have the parking brake wire grounded as well, but once I'm moving some items will get grayed out. If the video player is running, the video will pause and the screen will blank out once I start moving, and will resume again once I stop or slow down. They must have forgot to correct the bypass on the F310BT update.
  16. Thanks. I've been experimenting different video configurations after installing the CNSD-130FM update and your video settings seems to work the best so far. However, it still skips some frames pretty consistantly, even if I decrease the bitrate down. Are you experiencing the same too? I'm currently using XVID @ 480x320, 25fps, ~1000Kbps, MP3 128kb/s 44.1KHz. I might try lowering the resolution to see if it helps any.
  17. Yes. Well, it allows the ability to run applications downloaded from AVIC Feeds, which includes the Video Player app. So it's not quite integrated into the system software. Here's the link to the Video Player app if you want some more details on it.. http://www.avicfeeds.com/avicfeeds/appl ... layer.html It's pretty picky on what video formats it can play, and specific sizes and bitrates for it to play smoothly. I've tried encoding a few video configurations for it to play smoothly, but it still occasionally skips a few frames.
  18. Thanks for the update! That's also very disappointing to hear.
  19. I've just bought this update SD card as well for my U310BT, which includes the updated 2010 TeleAtlas maps, a system update, and (supposively) the additional 12 million POI's. Like everyone else who bought this update, the additional POI update did not work. I think the problem is they provided the wrong PIO update which was supposed to be for the U220 unit. As for the system update, there is now a home screen, similar to the other higher end models of the AVIC series consisting of three large icons (Navigation, Phone, and Applications). There is a customizable shortcut menu which is acces
