  1. Well I just assumed the touch would see the iphone as it does any other wifi network. I can't try it yet as I am on 4.1 on my iphone so I can't run mywi yet. So once the Greenpois0n jailbreak comes out for 4.1 I will give it a try. But theoretically it should work. I have never used the mywi app. But if all it does is publish a wifi connection why wouldn't the touch or any other device be able to connect. Isn't that the whole point of the app? I must be missing something. I am pretty sure this is what a lot of people are doing with their ipads that didn't get the 3g version. So
  2. I had this problem initially too. After playing around for a while I resolved it by going into setup where you can select new backgrounds. I did not change my background or even have a background on my card. But once I went into that setting the SD icon showed up for me as a source. I will check the exact menu at lunch when I go into my car. Try it and it might work for you.
  3. I also have a lot of music on my iphone. I use everything as I drive a lot. So Pandora, iphone, hd radio. No Sirius though. It can't unless you jail break it and use the app MyWi. http://www.rockyourphone.com/index.php/mywi-4.0.html It allows you to turn your iphone into a wireless hotspot. And since the ipod touch can connect to a wireless network....
  4. Then I was mislead as well. Thanks for the correction.
  5. Very cool. I was actually thinking of doing something similar. I am going to get a new ipod touch 64 gig and then jail break my iphone so I can use it as a hotspot and connect the touch to the head unit. My reason for this is the lack of storage on my iphone. I am glad to know that this will work.
  6. You were mislead. I think the CD-IU50 worked with some older units. From what I read, the reason for the change in cables had something to do with royalties that Pioneer had to pay apple. But by separating the audio/video signal they got around this. Not sure if this is true, but thatis what I read somewhere. Regardless, that cable will not work.
  7. Yeap, I made the same mistake. I thought there would be new buttons as well. And hopefully ios will add metadata eventually.
  8. Can only answer a couple. 1. I have not had any album art issues with songs on the ipod. 3. The lag for start up is about 10 -15 seconds. After that I have not noticed any issues. Blue tooth and Pandora connections can be a little touchy, but all the time, not just at start up. 5. I can confirm no Album art on SD. I was really disappointed on this one.
  9. Another update. After doing a RESET (Power+Home buttons) on my iphone I am able to use Next Track, Previous Track, and the Start and Stop buttons. Keep in mind there are no new buttons on the screen, you use the hard buttons on the left side of the unit. Also, so far it appears ios 4.1 does not support meta data. So none of the meta data shows up, but still need to find confirmation on that.
  10. Just a quick update. After searching for about an hour, looks like it is an iphone 4.1 problem. Apple is not saying what features/version they implemented. I am following the following post in the Apple forums. I am going to log an issue with Apple. The more they get the more likely it will get fixed. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2576854&tstart=0
  11. No, I don't either. I have done a lot of research on this. In the manual the X920BT says it supports AVRCP 1.3. 1.3 includes play and stop, next and last, and Meta data. So I need to do 2 things. 1. See if 4.1 really did implement it. Did not read any confirmations yet. 2. Call Pioneer and see what they say. It clearly states 1.3 in the manual. Maybe it is only 1.0 On page 130 the manual says it supports meta data (no album art though) but does not mention Next Track or Previous Track. So at this point I don't know if it is the unit the iphone or both. I will let you know
  12. To answer the original post. I put some music on mine, but disappointed that album art is not support through the SDHC card. Oh well.
  13. From what I have read, you need the pioneer one. It is not just USB but also has an audio/video cable that needs to be hooked up.
  14. Most likely meant the new 4th generation ipod touch. It runs the same firmware and similar hardware as the iphone4 which I have, so it "should" work. I would call pioneer customer service to be sure or just buy it at best buy or another place that has a good return policy just in case.
