  1. How can I do this with a mac? These programs are pc only! HELP!
  2. sh*t... this is a D3 post...sorry guys. Anyone got help for a mac/D2-er?
  3. Seems like from what you guys are saying is that I can just pop in a CD-R (not a DVD-R) into my imac and throw some appropriate sized jpgs on it with some "dummy" word files on it, so the disc is full with at least 150mb of data (as i read in another post). Then I put this disc into the DVD NAV slot on my AVIC-D2 and can just select the background picture i want and eject the disc and insert the original dvd nav dic back into the slot? Seems too easy and illogical seeing as the D2 doesnt have a writable hard drive...right? From reading the walkthrough on how to do it with a pc its much more co
  4. ok, making an image is the easy part.... im with this guy...how the hell do i put it on the dvd? As far as i am aware, you do need to copy the navi dvd and replace some of the files in order to get the backgrounds onto your avic. I have also read the post about how to do this on a PC, but how do i do it on my mac? Usually things are pretty straightforward on macs (drag and drop) but with this i get an error message "The finder could not complete the operation because some data in ALLDATA.KWI could not be read or written", so im thinking I need a third party application in order to make this ha
  5. Thnks for the help guys. It was my own duma$$ fault in the wiring. I hooked up the blue wire from the harness labeled "power antenna" to the wire on the D1 labeled "auto antenna remote control". WRONG. Once i disconected this wire and hooked it up to the other blue wire coming from the D1 (which was spliced by the previous owner and isnt labeled), all systems go. Cant say thanks enuff for everyone who posts on these forums.
  6. sounds like a possibility. It does load and the tracks pop up but only with a line, no track names. And the song count is going at the top right hand side off the screen like its playing but no sound. I guess ill try undoing the wiring to the harness and rewire it up. I hope thats the only problem!
  7. yeah, its not a ripped cd. Its a store bought cd, and ive tried several different ones too. Only other think i can think of doing is to cut all the connections i have made to the wiring harness and rewire them (maybe two wires arent all the way connected). I appreciate any help.
  8. I just purchased an AVIC D1 for my BMW 330i. Wired it up and found out that it wont play a cd! This seems like the most simple function of this unit (other than fm) and doesnt seem like there could be much room for error. Can anyone help! - oh, and I got it off ebay
