  1. Can someone confirm that new X940BT (and Z140BH) has testmode?

     

    How to enter to testmode (based on previous models):

     

    Push and hold HOME button, turn on ignition, keep home button pressed and press previous button, next button, previous, next and so on while keeping home button pressed until the unit restarts, it should enter testmode.

     

    On

    (thanks to JasonH) you can see how to navigate in testmode and now it looks like. Jason uses testmode.key file fom here to enter testmode but it is not nessesary.

    2. move down and enter FILE MAINTENANCE,
    3. go to USER, select COPY on the menu,
    4. move up, and go to SD,
    5. select PASTE on the menu,
    6. once it finish - BACKUP IS DONE. It may take up to 15 minutes to finish.
    7. now hold EJECT button for 5s to get to sd card, take it and connect to pc,
    8. copy USER directory somewhere safe on your computer.

  4. 1. No. looks like it is blocked at OS level.

    2. No. But com7 is suspected.

    3. We have 4 copies of OS image. Two of them in hidden partition.

    We can extract files from image, but do not know how to save changes in these images.

     

    EU090PLT.PRG first 0x200 butes - header, there is CRC32 and size.

    then 0xC0000 Unknown area. It has some info but we do not know such format.

    Than image in nb0 format - use something like dumpromx to read it.

  5. As far as I understand, software inside X930BT and F930BT is identical. At least USER folder. Difference is inside NDATA folder - we have different maps.

    BUT according to service manual we have different chips PEG745A8 or PEG747A8 on circuit board as well as resistors that define region. One guy in Russia even resoldered resistors according to different region but even radio friquency hasn't changed so I think main thing that defines region in our devices is PEG745A8/PEG747A8 chip.

    Here is little "How To" set different language for menu and AV part in your unit:

    For instance I have X930BT that made for US and it has only English, French and Spanish languages in menu, But I want it to use Russian. It is possible because in \USER\PRG0\Apl\LANGDATA\StringData\ I have list of 21 languages, I just select language from selectable for instance French (Sorry guys I can't speak French!) I move UCCAFRC.LNG somewhere safe and rename EURURUR.LNG to UCCAFRC.LNG

     

    Then select French in menu and ...Ta-dammm... I have Russian menu.

     

    How to select rigt file? just open file that you suspect contains language you need in text editor and you will see plain text. Enjoy!

     

    BTW if your unit have been updated you have chance that you need make changes in \USER\PRG1\Apl\LANGDATA\StringData\

    Now we have map from Australian F930BT so we can get non-Australian units to work-ish here in Australia.

     

    Map works but search is not working, Because it expect zip code in field of "City". So it jumps to the cocpit view (crashes?) so we need someone who can fix this issue.

    Now we can scroll and select destination or we can create custom POI using smartphone and feed it to the unit by AVIC ActiveFeeds which can be downloaded from Pioneer's website.

     

    Ok How to make map work:

     

    ALWAYS MAKE BACKUP FIRST!!!

     

    First of all:

    • go here and download testmode.key file (it is inside condihack archive)
    • or you can get it here as well.
    • or just use keys combination to get into test mode manually by following: remove sd card, turn on ignition, keep home button pressed and press previous, next, previous, next and so on while keeping home button pressed until the unit restarts, it should enter testmode.

    You can work in testmode or hack your unit - it is up to you. All respect for this step goes to our friend Condi

     

    Than get use to navigate using testmode,

    is youtube video that shows how to navigate in testmode. (Video by JasonH)

     

    Backup your NDATA folder - it can take up to 2 hours (for US units) and store it somewhere safe.

     

    Second: download this archive with Australian map

     

    than delete folders listed below from NDATA on your unit

     

    For US unit like mine they should be folders:

    00, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 0A, 0B, 0C, 0D, 0E, 0F, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1F, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49,4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4E.

     

    But DO NOT DELETE FE folder!

     

    Full list of folders you can check in NDATA\00\ZonelistOnFlash.txt open it with any text editor and you will find:

    first line - Number of folders with map in HEX format - for my US map it is 42 so 4*16+2=66 so 66 folders contain map, then list of folders (missing 00) and last line- FE - But DO NOT DELETE FE folder!

     

    Third: Open archive with Australian map and copy folders 00, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, blackspot to your NDATA folder.

     

    Last step - Reboot unit and if you have your position somewhere in Great Ocean

    Push "Home Button"> "settings"> "Navi Settings"> "Modify Current Location">

    Zoom out, Pan the screen and Zoom in to desired location and hit "OK"

     

    Clock can be set 12 hours behund and they will show something that looks like correct time. %))

     

    Disclaimer:

    Its working on my unit perfectly,

    but I am not 100% sure that it will work on yours!

     

    If you not sure which folders you need to delete form your non-US unit post contains of your NDATA\00\ZonelistOnFlash.txt here.

  8. ...Is it possible to copy somehow the maps from the f930bt to my f920bt?

    1. Make an backup of your complete NDATA folder in case if something will go wrong.

    2. Then copy NDATA folder from newer unit and select folders called like 00, 02,03... 1A, 1B... ect. (theay are all numbers in hex representation!) and folder L3D and copy them to your unit. Do not copy folders AV BG BT FE INIDATA SDUSB SKY SOUND SYMBOL TEL TTSData VBT. Only copy them if you have problem.

  9. Ditto, I have ttc formats and the cab file doesn't have any "asian" .PGF, Can somone upload a copy? would be a great christmas present as i have to drive around Brisvegas and it's hard to tell the difference between ???? and ???

    I google it a bit and it is look like Sony PSP(2?) has fonts in .pgf format. Is it the same format?. It is even possible to download TTF-to-PGF convertor... may be someone can dig this question deeper?

    Or we have to search for Asian version of Pioneer HU. I hope if Japaneese version of F930BT exists, it should support asian languages.

    And i understand this is possible. (my english is regular) first delete the files and later Copy the new maps.

    Unfortunately new line of pioneer HUs like we discuss here do NOT uses IGO anymore. So it is no point to update IGO maps yet because IGO runs but still doesn't detect GPS port.

    Question regarding adding/restoring fonts. Has anyone sucessfuly managed to get the stock pioneer software to display Asian fonts using this hack? I've got hold of the Cab file that's apparently works on the other models, but as someone else said before, canot execute the file?

    Can you just open this CAB file?

    we have system font here USER\PRG0\FONTS\tahoma_09H.pgf here. If you can open CAB file and get font from there and replace it.

  12. Hack mode load up but can't really do anything.

    Can't copy files, can't execute (exe), nothing in control panels works.

    Taskmanager, reg editor, and sirftech works I think.

    You can copy files. You can't replace files- delete files first then copy new files.

    You can run some exe files. It is possible to run IGO and some other exe. But not all exe files works.
