  1. Not sure the differences between your truck and mine. I used the pac os-4 and the swi-ps in my 2008 GMC Sierra which had Bose and no factory nav. But it did have a vss wire. That wire I believe with the factory radio was used to adjust the volume depending on speed. I connected everything including the bypass. Granted when I bought the radio I had it installed there. I will never do that again! They couldn't even get the bypass right nor did they hook up the illumination wire.
  2. I use my usb cable to connect my android phone to the radio hasn't givin me to many issues. I normally get the error cannot read usb device. The work around I have used for that is change it to tether...then switch it back to using the mem card. Then it recognizes the sd card. Hope that helps....
  3. Thats what it was they didn't have the illumination wire hooked up. They also left off one of the wiring harness from os pac 4 which was for the speed sensor and back up sensor. Not at all happy with that install I end up re installing the entire radio myself. They didn't even do the bypass properly they just jammed in a wire to make a loop which was not making a good connection. Lesson learned again if you want something done right do it yourself!
  4. Don't get me wrong I am not really hatin on mac..more like pioneer for not adding additional driver support. I wouldn't really call it limitations with the Android os. It would be more that there is so may different versions of the Android os which im sure makes it difficult. Because in my case with the Evo I have an HDMI port and a usb port which are both able to transfer Video and Data with the stock android os. The only way I will be able to get the Pioneer system to accept it will be a bit of work. Because I will have to convert the hdmi signal to RCA.
  5. Is it just me but I have 2 options automatic (which never switches to night) or Day. It would be nice if it would got to night at night lol its pretty bright in my truck. Or did the install guys just not hook something up right??
  6. I feel your pain I would love to dump this os and run an android os.. I was a bit offended when I noticed this unit only supports Apple..And I am for sure not dumping my EVO for an I phone.
  7. I have been able to connect my HTC Evo I have to do a bit of a strange process though..When I first connect it to the radio I tell it to tether..then I switch it too mass storage. If I do it the other way it will say something to the effect can not connect usb device. Also thinking about the HDMI to Rca soon for like netflix and what not. So if anyone does before me please post an update.
  8. When I plug in my evo I get the error on screen something like cant recognize the device. The only work around I have found so far to get it to work is I switch to usb tether and then go back and select disk drive. Dont ask how or why it works, but after that I have the usb button on the left plane and can play my music.
  9. Here is my thought someone chime in if I am way off. I have searched on the internet and have found some HDMI to RCA converters. (I will also have to install a power converter) So I am thinking of adding the converter plugging that in to the RCA jacks on the back of the unit connecting the HTC Evos hdmi to the converter. This should give you the ability to use your Netflix and other things like that. Has anyone tried this yet? And BTW First time poster so Hi all..First time with the Pioneer unit as well.
