  1. You could use an AppleTV, or even a Raspberry Pi running XBMC, but I don't know if the HDMI would size correctly to the screen. You would have to route it through the backup camera input. There's also that annoying "image may be reversed" message over the screen.
  2. Found out that AirServer for iOS doesn't support mirroring, so you can play video and music but you can't display apps wirelessly.
  3. The iPod Touch/AirServer method works great, but I can't figure out how to get it to mirror the iPhone 4S screen on the touch.
  4. It's most likely because I'm pulling the app's icon and displaying it there. The image probably isn't a large enough resolution to fill the entire button so it's stretching.
  5. 1. The mirrored image maintains the aspect ratio of the iPhone screen. If I change it to fill the screen, it will be stretched. I also use the left and right bars as the "Home" button so there would be no way to close an app. 2. I don't create the icons. I simply copy them from their respective apps. I'll take a look though. 3. Not sure why the screen gets slow sometimes. I've noticed this too. I think it has something to do with the graphics engine powering two screens at the same time. 4. Not sure about your head unit. On the AppRadio, you just double press the radio's home button and a m
  6. Shouldn't be too difficult. I switched from Rdio to Spotify and it annoys me that there is no AppRadio interface. I'm going to see if I can show the current playing song in the AppRadio app, and then when you press on it a window pops up with the album art and some controls.
  7. 1. Not sure why yours is so slow. I only have an AppRadio 1 to test with but the launch time of the AppRadio app is much faster. Maybe someone else can answer? 2. This is a known issue. Still working on it. 3. I don't modify the audio output in any way. Sounds like an issue with the app or the radio. 4. The steering wheel buttons already work with any app that support the controls on the lock screen/switcher. Last I checked, it wasn't looking too good. AppEx heavily relies on Backgrounder to keep the AppRadio app running while another app is on the iPhone screen. iOS 6 changed a wh
  8. No plans. I don't have an iPad to test with. Not yet. I'm focusing on iOS 6 at the moment. It's still on the list though. I use a manual toggle switch. It's firmware update proof.
  9. Yes, that's a good idea. I'll start working on it tonight. Need to clean some things up and organize a bit.
  10. The iOS 6 update isn't looking too good. Apple changed a lot in regards to multitasking so I can't use the same methods keep the AppRadio app open in the background to capture touch events from the radio. I need to look for another way to do this. I'll keep everyone posted. Still actively working on it.
  11. You shouldn't have to restore. Can you try leaving MobileSubstrate enabled and disable some other tweak one at a time to confirm it's a problem with AppEx? You can do this with SBSettings. I have everything running fine on my iPhone 4S 5.1.1, but I do notice sometimes that the radio doesn't acknowledge the phone. I either have to reboot the phone or the radio to get it working again. Not sure what the source of the problem is though.
  12. Which beta were you running? I fixed a bunch off issues that caused conflicts with the mail app. It's still iOS5 only. Working on the iOS6 update.
  13. Take a look at KillBackground (in Cydia). Just set the accessory disconnected action to use this and it should close all backgrounded applications.
  14. The official release has a bunch of bug fixes, most related to the landscape lock. The settings menu is also a bit different, but it's only a cosmetic change. The AppRadio app should automatically launch when you plug the phone in if you have the latest firmware installed. You just need to set the bypass to 'Accept' in the AppEx settings. Activator (available on Cydia) has a trigger for accessory connected and accessory disconnected. I know you can launch an app when you plug the phone in but I'm not sure if you can kill an app when unplugging it. I'll take a look and see if ther
  15. Just submitted AppRadio Extensions 2.0 to the repo. Not sure how long it will take to become available. If you have any problems upgrading from the beta to the official release just uninstall the beta, delete the data and settings folders, and try again. The settings are stored in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences and some data files are stored in /var/mobile/Library/AppRadioExtensions. Thanks for all of the help!
  16. The settings are stored in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences and some data files are stored in /var/mobile/Library/AppRadioExtensions. The only thing I can think of is maybe the Backgrounder.plist is an old version, causing some apps to act inappropriately. Uninstall AppEx and delete the entire AppRadioExtensions folder from the Library. Go through the Preferences folder and delete the files that start with com.decaro.appradioextensions. Test your device without AppEx installed to make sure everything works fine. When you reinstall it, all of the settings should be set back to their defaults.
  17. No, I doubt they would give me access to the API. I've only tested with the AppRadio but I've heard that it works with other head units that support "advanced app mode". If the head unit works with the AppRadio app, this should be able to work.
  18. Just a status update: Fixed a bunch of issues with landscape lock today. Everything is looking good for a first release on Cydia. Stay tuned.
  19. As far as I know, yes. I'm using an AppRadio 1 with the latest firmware and the most recent AppRadio app. Not sure if it works on the 8400. All of my testing was done on the AppRadio. If the AppRadio app works on that head unit, this should work as well.
  20. I don't have bitesms so I can't test it. Can you try uninstalling the extensions and see if the screen still goes blank when you get a message?
  21. It's not missing. I just changed the name of the setting so it makes more sense. "Force Mirrored Display" prevents apps from using the second display, so the iPhone screen can be mirrored. For example, Navigon added a screen that displays a message stating something like "maps can not be viewed on an external display due to license restrictions". Enabling Navigon in Force Mirrored Display prevents it from showing this screen, allowing the navigation to be mirrored to the radio.
  22. I just tested the newest version of the AppRadio app on my iPhone 4 running 5.1.1 and everything worked fine. Did you try deleting the app and installing a clean version? What is the radio's firmware version?
