  1. I have a 2005 Z71 Suburban with a Z1 installed. I noticed your picture with the GPS mounted all the way forward in the dash. Have you had a problem with getting it to work? I tried a few spots in the area where you mounted yours and no matter what I did it wouldn't work. I drove around with the HU out and I was moving the receiver all over the inside of the car and it would not acquire a satellite. The minute I put the receiver out the sunroof it worked. I had to punch a hole through the firewall and route it up the driver side door to the roof.
  2. I have the same issue. I am planning on pulling out the antenna tonight and setting on the dash to see if that fixes the issue. The unit worked in another car just recently, just not my Suburban. Everything that I have read including the feedback here has me thinking there is just something wonky going on where I have the module located.
  3. Thanks for the reply garrett. I was hoping that wasn't the case but oh well. I'll pull the unit out and have a look. Just for giggles, I attached some pictures of the service disk GPS options in case anything looked out of the ordinary. Sorry for picture bombing the thread. One other item, in one of the screen shots it lists the version and it says Z2. Should it say Z3 since I have updated it?
  4. Hoping some of you can provide some insight into an issue I am having. I just updated my Z1 with the instructions provided in this thread. After the upgrade I have done a complete reset of the unit and I can not get the GPS unit out of the "initializing" mode in the 3D settings. I have checked the hardware status option and the GPS icon says ok but there are no satellites that are lit up. I booted up the service disk and went to the GPS menu options and I dont have any satellites listed and I do see that the "RTC Error" indicator says "NG". Any idea on what is going on here or any rec
  5. Go here and plug your info in and it wil tell you. http://www.axxessinterface.com/vehicleguide_new.aspx
  6. Do you have the correct GMOS adapter installed? Mine (GMOS-04) stays on after I turn the car off until I open the door.
  7. Hello All- Been lurking here for quite some time as I have been preparing to install my Z1 and I've run into an issue that has me stumped. I have a 2005 Chevy Suburban Z71 and while installing my Z1 I could not get it to slide back into the space of the original head unit due to a metal pilar/bracket that runs vertical back inside the dash. Has anyone run into this before or heard of a work around? Not sure if I can cut the bracket as it looks to mount to the dash. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Can someone please seed the maps image? Right now there are only 2 seeders and its saying its going to take 104 days. I got the service test disk at about 1.5mb/s so thanks to those seeders. In return, I will leave them up for a few months.
