Hi All, I've had my D3 w/XM for about a year now. Something strange happened today that hasn't happened....ever. On the way to work, a popup window came up while I was listening to XM. The window said: I said No and it came up again. I pressed Yes, it went to station 168 and then I switched back to the news station I was on (121). Is this a new feature on XM?

Just had the D3 installed in my 2002 Maxima w/Bose a few weeks ago. Use the adaptor from Scosche to integrate the Bose Amp with the D3. Works fine (actually better than the old headunit). My installer wanted to remove the Bose amp and install a new one. I told him to use the kit, works fine.

Thanks I wound up downloading ImgBurn. Worked like a charm.

Looks like DVD Decrypter is not compatible with Vista. I get "UDF File System Parse Error". I tried just moving the files from DVD to DVD+R DL, but I get a read error from the Avic-D3.

Thanks.

I got a set of DVD+RW tonight, but they aren't big enough to load the whole Nav DVD. Nav DVD is 7GB and the largest DVD+RW I could find are 4.7GB. What brand DVD+RW are you guys using to make copies? I tried to get a subset (no XM folders) but it is still too much info for the DVD+RW.

GEX-P920XM == Graphics
2002 Maxima SE replied to 2002 Maxima SE's topic in XM/Sirius/HD Radio and Traffic Receivers
Fair enough, a smiley goes a long way. I disagree, with the logos/graphics stored on the unit they would be available all the time, not just when the DVD is in the player. -

Wow, brilliant. I didn't comment, I asked a question on why it was on the Nav DVD instead of the unit. Thats correct...and what does it have to do with navigation. Nothing. Should have been on the unit, easier to change. -

I may think what? The graphics for the D3 (background, startup screen, etc) are very easily changeable. -

So...after I said DVD=graphics. OK. What does the DVD for navigation have to do with XM. Nothing. Why would they put it there? -

Figured this out on the way home. Navigation DVD in = XM graphics. Navigation DVD out = No XM graphics. Not sure why. -
Hi All, I've got the GEX-P920XM installed with an AVIC-D3. On day one, I had all the graphics (talking clown head for Comedy, moving saxophone for Jazz/Blues channel) plus the colorful titles. But for the last two days, they are all gone now. Anyone know whats up?
-
This is odd. All day on 4/17 I had icons/logos in XM. All day today, 4/18, I had none. Is this a setting?
The GEX-P10MT is the digital NavTraffic unit. It uses IP Bus for audio, and a special Data Cable, for well, data. This is why it shows as not connected, because there is no data cable. When using the 10MT, you get station info (logos) as well as navtraffic.
I've got the GEX-P920XM and I get logos...but no status information.

2000 Nissan Maxima w/ Bose D3 Install
2002 Maxima SE replied to AL55ES's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
You'll want this kit from Nissan for the dash: http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/ ... 8750-VENTC -

Hi, Attaching to hear input. I agree on splicing/heat shrink. That seems to be the best way to go for connecting the harnesses.

Preparing for my AVIC-D3 Install: Equipment ready; wiring?

Thanks Necro. The wire shouldn't be live as the plug will be left hanging with the rest of the harness (not plugged in) after the install. -
Preparing for my AVIC-D3 Install: Equipment ready; wiring?
2002 Maxima SE replied to Blizzard's topic in General
Wiring and OEM Harness Integrity: Hi all, I'm trying to maintain the stock wiring as much as possible. I'm using the integration kit as suggested. I'll want to reinstall the factory radio when I go to sell the car probably. I know different installers have different ways of doing installs, but what is the proper way to do wiring? For example. There is a harness on my Maxima that controls the steering buttons and trip computer (mpg, temp, dte, etc). After SWI-PS install, it is said I need to cut one of the wires from the OEM harness and ground it to regain use of the trip comp -
Thanks! I can see you also have a Nissan. So, if I don't program the the trip and cruise control buttons, they will function as before? This poster on Max.org posted that I should cut the wire off the OEM harness and ground it: http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.php?p ... stcount=16 Did you have to do this?

On my 2002 Nissan Maxima, I have the following buttons on the left: Vol Up Vol Down Mode (Source?)--switches between CD/Radio/Etc Trip --Switches the info center for Temp/MPG/Avg MPH Track Up Track Down On the right: Cruise On/Off Cancel Accel/Res Coast/Set I see on the SWI-PS PDF: http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Manual ... 7SWIPS.PDF That I can set most of these. So, my questions: 1)Are Mode(Nissan) and Source (PAC SWI) the same thing? 2)Do I set the Trip function? I don't want to lose that info center. 3)Do I set the buttons on the right for Cruise Control?

Wish I lived closer to him (Raleigh, NC). He's been a great source of information on this forum, and for that I thank him.
