  1. Im thinking on purchasing a Ipod Video to have a library of mvies on the go for my son... How is everyone hooking them up to have the vid/audio sent to rear screens
  2. I was just about to post that also... I think a few ppl can eat my ass for the comments...ok ok..Ill accept an apology
  3. It is heat related, but not from the hdd being too hot
  4. The issue has nothing to do with hard drive heat. The fault lies in the cable connecting the drive...the current speed is too high thus resulting in errors being transmitted while data is being sent from the drive to the board... The fix...slow down the data
  5. LOL...would you happen to be the tech I just spoke to? Funny how his name is Neal, and works in the Ohio service center....small world!
  6. I was enlightened by a tech at the Ohio service center that they have in fact found a way to resolve the freezing on startup issue. It is to be fixed by way of a firmware upgrade (cd), possibly to be realeased by today he said.. Dont shoot the messenger, Thats all I know about it right now and will update as I know more. Tim
  7. Class Action anyone? There has to be an attorney amung us
  8. I feel for you guys...but I doubt its heat as I am on my second unit (warranty replacement) and its already doing the same as the first after 1 month..it will do so weather it is 90 or 70 degrees out. if it is heat why dont htey program the fan to cycle while the car is shut down?? just a thought...it couldnt take that much power from the batt I am still awaiting a call from a pioneer customer service manager, its only been 3 weeks whats the rush?? I am very tempted to flebay this unit and spend a bit more money on a WORKING alpine system
  9. Update on my warranty replaced z2...it froze up on me this am just like the last one.. It was parked in my garage overnight, it was 83 degrees in the garage when I left and it never booted up en route to work...ac blasting at 65,,no luck. Funny thing is it has been in my truck with all windows closed in 104deg temps...so im sure the interior was into the 140/50s and boot ups were not a problem.. but a few hours overnight in my garage with the windows open and 83 degrees kills it.. Doesnt make a lot of sence to me...
  10. I can relate...I was in the same situation 2 weeks ago. Now I have a new warranty replacement (since friday) it came with the updated software ready for the wire bypass. I called the location that serviced the unit and spoke to a head tech..Ohio location his name is Garrett...very helpful...had the new unit sent out same day they received the old.. So far so good
  11. Well if your lucky enough to be still under warranty..you can send it back...get a NTF code...install and have the unit screw up again..or not install it and call the next day saying its still doing it (because it will weather you install it or not) and have pioneer send you a new unit in retail packaging with all accessories as they did for me, unit to arrive today. Unfortunately, the warranty is not reset and is still from the date of purchase for the original unit Your stuck as the unit will only become worse freezing up more often over time. Seems to be luck of the draw...some do it..
  12. Dont feel bad..My unit was delivered to Ohio on Monday the 23rd..and I now have to wait Aprrox. 2 weeks for a new unit from California...they ship ground..Im in Ga.
  13. You have to steal a pin from a unused wire...I think its the cell phone mute wire...not sure of the color.. Maybe someone else can back this up..
