  1. I updated my x930bt to version 5.0, is there any reason to update to 5.1? I read here that I should of access to Pandora app after the upgrade but I don't any reason why? I assume the icon shows up only when you plug in your iphone?
  2. I am about to update from version 3.0 to version 5 for my avic x930bt, it would work without an issue but the only question I have is how do you disable the warning message when you select the Nav icon? I know there is a hex value you need to change but to what value and to what file. Do you change the file on the sd card before you update the system? I do have the parkign brake bypass. Thanks
  3. Hey there, I was wondering where did you end up getting the version 5.0 maps from? Would love to update from version 3 for my x930bt. To disable the Nav screen warning when you select Navigation, what file did you edit and did you edit the file before you updated the the software version?
  4. I am heading on a trip and was hoping to update my maps as it has the orginal maps version 3. I notice I can get the new maps for about $15 on ebay but that is for 2013 maps version 5. I was wondering if they only made 2013 maps for that model? Has anybody update their x930 with the latestest maps if so where did you guys them them from? Thank you
  5. Last year I ran all the connectors from my HU to my middle console on my Ford escape, reason for this is so I can access the wiring from there instead of behind of the HU when I want to plug in an external device to it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bjot7he6yvnmn7l/Photo%202012-03-11%203%2059%2044%20PM.jpg The wiries consist of, Rear Monitor Video and Audio (RCA Cables), AV2 RCA cable for plugging in an device and an Iphone cable for AV1 running CD-RM10 cable, my question is I want to install a rear monitor now for my daughter in the back seat, that wont be an isssue as I already have the wi
  6. Hi edbe, I currently have the Apple 30pin connector plug into my avic x930bt, If i buy this adapter for my S4 would this stream video and audio to my HU? Did you just use a usb cable from your HU to this adapter?
  7. My Avix X930bt currently has a 30 pin apple cable for both audio and video to stream to my screen. However I no longer have an iphone and just bought an Samsung S4. Does anybody know where I can buy and micro usb to apple 30min. If I do buy a adapter would this work with both video and audio or would I have to run a cable for audio? Last resort is just running an micro usb cable to the back of the HU, would they even sell that for the HU unit? The goal is to display video and audio on my HU, any help will be appreicated. I found this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-ipad-Iphone-docking-30pin-fema
  8. I have a 2011 limited Escape and I went through a car wash yesterday and just out of no where 10 minutes after getting a car wash the rear right bass speaker was giving a very loud popping noise and then a A loud pitch and then a loud buzzing noise. It stays on for awhile and didn't go off I tried turning off the car and the sound was still there but fading away. I turn off the radio by removing the security insert as I have a avic x930bt and the sound faded away but was still there. Eventually it was just a low buzzing noise and then it turned off. This bass speaker is attached to the amplifi
  9. For some reason I now have this pop-up parking brake screen come up atleast once a week, I am able to hit Okay and still use the options (Nav, and play video), just wondering why is it doing this now and only once a week. I remember when I got the HU installed the installer has all three wires going into a little fuse box and from there another wire going to the car ground. Can the problem be the fuse not sure why he would do it this way. I guess I should double check the connection again with the mute wire. Also would you guys suggest to add a switch so I can manually change from bypas
  10. I will just tap into the reverse lights in the back, that should solve my issue. I just hope the wires going to the back light is not both positive, if it is then I need to tap into the harness itself I guess.
  11. Do you know how many amp does a reverse camera give it? I guess I got to get a switch that can Handel the current right?
  12. I heard it on this form, I didn't think so as it didn't make any sense at all. Thanks for clarifying it, Im just wondering if this would work if I use a switch and set it up this way instead of using diodes. http://avic411.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=15127
  13. Perfect, I read somewhere that if I do end up installing a switch and when I'm moving forward and decide to switch to rear display by pressing the switch this may cause issues with the HU in regards to gps dead reckoning, your going forward at high speeds but the HU thinks you are In reverse. Anybody heard of this issue before?
  14. is it recommended to tap into the reverse lights in the back of the car or is there any way I can tap into the reverse wire behind the HU?
  15. Thanks loudls One more question, does anybody know where the reverse wire would be on a ford escape 2011, not sure where to start
  16. Hey guys, just a question, I have an OEM Camera for my Ford Escape already installed in my rear view mirror. My HU is an X930bt and I was wondering if this will work, I want to install another camera at the back so whenever im driving I can flip a switch and see on my HU screen for toeing purpose. Can I simply do this, plug the camera power source into my back rear lights (Always on) when the car is on using T-Tap, then running the video to the HU. If I want to switch into the camera mode while driving forward I will need to manually switch it on the HU so I can see the back or connect the
  17. Hey guys, thanks for all the inputs, so if I buy a camera and hook it up using RCA for Video, where do you think I can tap into for the power source, I was thinking either installing it at the front on the dash or the back, reason for the back is because I want one where I can always turn on while driving and I dont have to be in reverse. My OEM in the rear view mirror does this, If I end up installing it in the back, I was thinking to run the RCA cable to the HU, run the power source to the fuse box im guessing 12volt? to a fuse where its always on, but im not sure how the reserve cable will
  18. I was wondering, I have a ford escape that has already a rear view camera and it comes on in the rear view mirrow when the car is in reverse. Can I simply just buy a second camera and install it on my dash and plug it into the video input of the rear view camera on the avic x930bt. I was wondering would the car need to be in reverse for the screen to automatically change to the backup camera option, or can I simply just press the backup camera button on the screen allowing me to view the camera that I have installed. Thanks
  19. Removed my deck today and it turned out that issue was the loop brown wire was grounding itself, put some tape on it and seems to be okay.
  20. Im not sure what can cause such a behavior, especially in your case it was working fine for 2 years whats different now, how often does it happen on yours?
  21. Hi there, I recently got the X930bt installed from FS, however its been over a week know and so far the system had shutoff on me twice for about few seconds and then it comes back up, when it comes back up it resumes back to the original spot it left off at. Can it be a ground wire that is causing this? Any help will be great
