  1. I don't think the version matters, except if there's a minimum requirement so you should be fine. I'm running 3.0. Hardware-wise, I assume that the x920bt is similar enough to the f900bt that it should be okay. I think Ryar has developed it on f500bt and f900bt. -PMS
  2. Just writing to say that I've had a chance to go on a few quick trips and Ryar's AvicNet is awesome. I'm even starting to like that Primo 2.0 since the customizations on Igo8 are not what I'm used to and Primo does look much more slick. I still haven't totally wrapped my head around how to set up the system so everything starts the way I'd like it. Again, I haven't had too much "in-car" time, but I like having HOBD running and switching between it and Primo 2.0. I only just found that "Hard button" setting, but not quite sure how it works. I set it to start HOBD, though it puts a quick sta
  3. Hey Jimbo, I live in Canada and the only thing I altered with Ryar's flashdisk was adding the Canada map and POI's so I believe the licensing is fine as is. I haven't had too much time to play around with it yet, but it did seem pretty solid so far. Actually, I also added back the TTS voice files, but I don't think that would cause your issues. I completely cleared my flashdisk before copying over. I have a F900BT and I think that's what Ryar's flashdisk is defaulted to, so if you have a different model, you may need to edit the sys.txt file? -PMS
  4. Awesome, thanks ryar for the update. Really appreciate all the effort guys like you put into making my impulse buy easier to justify to my wife. To be honest though, I was shocked to discover that she doesn't see the importance of being able to monitor fuel trim and throttle percentage on the dash. Oh well. I appreciate it. Thanks! I'll be installing your 2.1 tonight. -PMS
  5. Thanks! Though this looks to be just the Primo 1.0 addon. Anyone have the main North American package (AVICNETenglishNA.rar) and Primo 2.0 addon? Thanks, PMS
  6. Thanks for the find! Just loaded it with the fixed sys.txt and looks like I'm in the exact same boat as you now. Got it English for the iGO and main menus, Bluetooth is working fine, but it just stays on the "Now Loading" for SD music. I'll poke around through the forums for a bit so see where that is configured. I also tried out Primo, but that's still in Italian. Hard to find a settings menu to switch it to English. Doesn't seem to be picking up the maps either. I'll also search the forums for that to see if there's some help somewhere with Primo menus. Still thinking that Ryar's ver
  7. Cool, looks like you're on the right track. As for my getting English turned on, still no luck after 3 tries. Perhaps it may have to do with how the system is restarted after copying over the MFD? There's either the physical restart button, the restart icon on the WinCE desktop, or just shutting off power. I'd think that the icon would be best at closing things down gracefully, but I'm pretty certain I've used that on at least one of my tries. I'm just not getting the expected process to choose your options on the first boot up. -PMS
  8. Just read through the whole thread (phew!) and so now I'm not sure what advantage that this Italian version has. So I went to download Ryar's from Post#2, however it looks like it's been taken down. Or at least, the download site is saying that only the uploader is allowed to access the file so he needs to login. Does anyone have Ryar's NA version that they could re-upload? Thanks, PMS
  9. I haven't taken a look at that Stan/Andr mod yet so perhaps I'll give it a try. I'm fairly new to this, but I'm guessing if you can "insert" primo into the menu system, I should be able to figure out how to stick the OBDII stuff in there. Though I'm guessing it's a bit more complicated since there are drivers and COM ports and what not. I guess I have a lot of reading ahead of me. Thanks, PMS
  10. Looks like I'm also having the same Bluetooth issues as you. I checked Blankers WinCE and it's the same Gyro disabling one. I'll try switching back to a regular WinCE since I'm not a fan of that Primo anyway. I've got an f900bt as well. In fact, I'm mainly interested in the OBDII stuff as I got one of the USB readers from eBay. My preference for navigation is Daftia's mod, but I read somewhere that it's resource heavy so it would be hard to integrate into AvicNet. Anybody know how difficult it would be to add the OBDII functionality on top of something like Daftia's mod? Thanks, PMS
  11. Just reloaded again and I'm still getting Italian. I noticed that I don't get the initial setup process, but I wiped 'My Flash Disk' clean before copying over. Any ideas? Thanks, PMS
  12. Looks like I've got the same problem that you had with it being stuck on Italian. This was before trying trying your DATA.zip. Tried that one but no change. So I guess I'll need to clear 'My Flash Disk' and copy the files over again, but which DATA.zip should I use? Thanks, PMS
  13. Put this one together for fun when I first got my f900bt and now the kids won't let me get rid of it. -PMS

  16. So this thread looks like it's becoming my monologue, though I think I may be done. Got the Power Tamer hooked up with the top half of the AVIC.PDF battery circuit and it's working great. The only question I have left is, what type of batteries would work best in this situation? I was planning on using NiMH (~1500mAh) AAs, but the store had NiCD (600mAh) as well so I went with those as it matches the original design. They work good, but in terms of long-term use in this situation, would the higher capacity NiMH's work as well or better? I started reading up on battery recharging, and the
  17. I received the 'Power Tamer' and it seems it does keep the ACC line on, however, since my battery drops below 10V during ignition, so does it's ACC-out line and I still get a reboot. So I'm going to add a battery, but looking at the AVIC.PDF diagram, I'm thinking I'll only need the top half since my ACC drop issue is already fixed (I don't need to touch the ACC line). I just need to keep the battery level going in to the Power Tamer from dropping those couple volts. Therefore I think I'll just need a 12v battery, two diodes, a 10 Ohm 10W resistor and a 10 uF 25V capacitor. For the batt
  18. Hey all, Accidentally posted to a simillar thread under the the Z model forums, so reposting here as I've got the F900BT. New to the F900BT, but this reboot with ignition is already bugging the heck outta me. I've read through a couple threads on the subject with a variety of solutions and I like the ease of this PAC TR7 solution since I wouldn't feel safe with putting something I soldered together myself under my dash. However, I'm not sure if the PAC TR7 will normalize the voltage to address such a voltage drop. While reading up on all this, I found on eBay a cheap used "Power Ta
  19. Hey all, New to the F900BT, but this reboot with ignition is already bugging the heck outta me. I've read through a couple threads on the subject with a variety of solutions and I like the ease of this PAC TR7 solution since I wouldn't feel safe with putting something I soldered together myself under my dash. However, some posters have reported that cranking the engine will cause the voltage on the yellow line to drop enough to reboot as well. Does the PAC TR7 normalize the voltage to address such a voltage drop? While reading up on all this, I found on eBay a cheap used "Power Tamer V
