  1. I'm writing Pioneer once a month asking when they are going to release software to fix the routing problem. I think they will have to sooner or later. I have used ever make but Tomtom. Magellan's in rental car and I own a portable Garmin. Both of them are very good. I just know that there is something very wrong when the pioneer actually has you back track down the same road you just traveled on. I'm writing reviews on Amazon as well warning buyers. I want to be writing that they fixed the nav part because the XM and Ipod interface is the very best and it looks great in my dash!
  2. It's just the D-3. Its a good radio but as a navigation device it sinks. I work 17 miles from my work and going to work is ok but coming home it routes me 29 mile. It tells me to go by the turn to my street and drive 4 more mile and than u turn back down the same road 4 miles and than turn on the street i passed 8 mile before. I have reported this to pioneer and they act like they know about it. We just need more people to complain. I would take mine back but after installing it who wants to do that? I just tell my friends not to buy it! Get a Garmin!
  3. The D3 is not very accurate. It should be becuase it uses a lot of satilites and has wheel speed and gyro's but it's not. My old Garmin will put you in spiting distrance of the address and only uses satilites. I'm hoping for new software that will fix the routing and the accuracy. Mine routes me past the street i should turn on and than has me make a u turn and back track down the road i just drove up only to turn down the street i had already pasted. I do get there sooner or mostly latter.
  4. I have a D3 without a by past and the unit was installed by pro's. The routing on mine works great if you have never used anything else. I have used Megelans and own a cheep Garmin. They are way better than the D3. Mine will drive me by the intersection and than have me uturn ,sometimes miles up the road. Than i back track and turn down the same street i just pasted. I wrote Pioneer and they sure seem to know they have a problem and said they would send out a fix if they ever get one. This happens about 40% of the time. Everything else about the D3 is great! It's just how it routes th
  5. You should be worried about the routing on this unit. I have used Garmin and Megelan alot and they route much better than the D3. Mine will drive me by the spot i should turn at and than have me make a u turn sometimes a mile or two latter. It than turns me on to the same street i just pasted. I wrote Pioneer and they said that a fix is not yet available. They sounded like they might do something about it. It drives me to a uturn about 40% of the time. Garmin is way better so far.
