  1. Thank you for you input. I appreciate your candid response and you are right I may very well be over reacting. But for me a company like Pioneer needs to be held accountable for the level of service they provide, how they interact with the public and should stand behind their products and be held to a higher standard. Yeah I could be wrong about the map database, but Pioneer needs to make sure their people are responding accordingly to the publics needs for information. I feel like I was mislead by them and I want to be heard and have it resolved in a fair and equitable way.
  2. Progress is being made not sure how they plan to resolve it but I am being heard. Case Number: XXXXXX Dear Mr. XXXX: Thank you for contacting Pioneer Customer Service. 3. Funny this topic has gotten a little off topic. What I really wanted to know was what system you had: Z-1 or Z-2, what Tele Atlas database verion you had and what year and month you got your unit. Just wanted to get an assessment of whether or not I am overreacting or have the basis for furthering my case with Pioneer or just dropping the whole issue and buy the damn upgrade CD. My Tele Atlas database version is: 01.0000. I got my unit around Oct/Nov of 2006
  4. My wiife has the Lexus GX470, she loved my 4Runner so much had to get her something comparable but with a bit more class. When we test drove the GX470, we put in our home address and it found it immediately. Now mind you its a factory nav in the Lexus, but we bought both trucks new in 2006. Bought the Z-1 new as well and was top of the compared to everything else in teh markest at the time. So I'm more than a little disappointed I could not find our address after spending so much for an aftermarket unit that in my opinion is a much better unit than the Lexus Eclipse AVN product she has.
  5. Well the lawsuit would be for more than just the map issues. I have been dealing with Pioneer for almost a year with a variety of issues with this product, screen freezing, camera issues, voice recognition etc. and its really starting to piss me off. I could have gotten factory nav and not had some of the issues I am having with this Z1
  6. Dear Mr. XXXX, Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics. It seems as though you are speaking on two different issues here. The mapping UPGRADE is available for purchase from our parts department. An upgrade is will include new streets, freeways, or any other mapping information that Tele Atlas has gained. The costs of the discs are set forth by Tele Atlas for their licensing fees. Tele Atlas nor Pioneer claim to have covered the entire United States for navigation. There may be some locations that are not available. An UPDATE is created only when necessary to change an operat
  7. You're right I'll move this to the original thread.
  8. Yeah technology is pricey when you are on the cutting edge. I'm considering buying the low end Driv-N V17 Car PC for about $1,094.00 with basic configuration you can adapt it to the Z-1 or Z-2. Then volunteering my vehicle as a test platform for the integration of the 2 units to see if they will allow some sort of discount.

  11. My first strike at Pioneer and their "customer service" team. To Whom It May Concern: I am a registered Pioneer product user. I initially called in an issue with my Pioneer AVIC Z-1 when I originally purchased it back around October/November of 2006. I was given a case number for my original complaint. My complaint then was that my unit did not have my home address listed in the map database of the navigation system. My house is 5 years old and I was surprised that it was not listed with the database version dated from 1984 – 2006. The map Tele Atlas date is 2006. My software v
  12. Can anyone tell me what tele atlas database version they have in their AVIZ Z-1 or Z-2? I purchased my unit almost a year ago and I was appalled that my home adddress was not listed in the database. I called Pioneer then and filed a complaint. They took my name and address etc. gave me a case number and told me an update disk would be available in the spring of this year and that I would be added to the mailing list and that when it became available it would be sent out to me. Well spring came and went and of course I started having the screen lockng up issues during my waiting period. I cal
  13. My SN is a name I was considering taking when I was about to convert to Islam. I never converted but I kept the name as an alter ego, SN, Alias etc. No I'm not Jewish I am African American.
  14. My unit was doing that for awhile as well. I had to do a level 1 reset on at least 4 occasions. I noticed that it kind of corresponded with times where I had used the bypass so I can access fucntions while driving. Have you been using the bypass?
