  1. Sounds like you have a weak transistor or something controlling the switching of that circuit. I wonder how long Pioneer let the unit run for and in what conditions. I would hate to have to remove mine and frigin sent it back a bunch of times. I don't even like to halfway take it out just to run more stuff to it. If they find no fault then they should be able to replace it with another one. That would be a fair trade, no? A "good" unit with another?
  2. The camera is powered all of the time and the switch just sends a ground into the Avic. I figured it would be a conflict between my speed pulses and the fact that the radio thinks it's backing up. I was hoping there was some type of software upgrade, but the way I'm using the system is kind've taboo, so Pioneer probably doesn't even know about it.

  4. From what little research I was doing last night, I did see a LOT of complaints about temperature related video problems. My question to you is; Do you not even see the "caution, image may appear reversed" at the top of the screen. I'm just wondering if your unit is not physically switching or maybe just the video is not getting there. Like if the "brain" to the camera is failing and not the Avic (assuming your using a Pioneer camera).

  6. So, I know that you can drive around with the split screen function to view the camera and map. I added an extra switch to activate the back-up camera function while driving to see it in full screen. It just parallels (did I spell that right?) the reverse light switch. When I flip the switch while driving, the unit stops navigating. When the map comes back up, the position is the same as when you first flipped the switch. Then a few seconds later, it recognizes and corrects (if you're moving fast enough). Normally, I would not squawk something so stupid, but I am also using this vid
  7. I personally don't like the display in night-time mode. Also, I like to have the parking and fog lights on during the day. I have the Illum wire hooked up, but I changed the setting to not switch automatically when the lights come on. Now, at least I still have the option to go into night mode in case my passenger cries.
  8. It's as though we need to install a multiple poll relay that brings all gyro directional voltages down to there idle reference points. Or something NOT requiring us to take this thing apart. This sucks...
  9. I just took a look at the manual and it seems that you need to go through the TV tuner (which is like pretty much obsolete now) to get the video patched through from the Ipod. Any thoughts?
  10. So I've noticed that you can't play videos on the Z2 from you're Ipod. Am I nuts or is this true? I haven't looked into a way around it yet, but if anyone has any input before I start, would be much appreciated.
  11. So what I did was I used a DPDT switch that would normally let the speed go to the unit and not the parking brake. Then when I switched it, the speed cut off and the parking brake went in. We have all heard of this before, right? What it did was let me use the functions while driving for about 20 seconds (which was enough time to dial a number or change a route) then it would detect speed again and cut out. This would work over and over again. However, it turns out that when the unit detects the speed, then I cut it off and I'm still moving, the GPS goes WAY off and does NOT come back
