  1. I'm already on version 04.0000 so hopefully I'll be able to go straight to 5.0. Many thanks Andrew. Ps, this place is quiet eh?!
  2. Ok, but how is this done? I'm looking for links and getting myself confused.
  3. Ok, since I made the mistake of buying Appradio 1 a few years back, I've been kinda put off Pioneer despite them being my fav make! Long and short is I've now bought a f930bt and I read it's possible to update to f940bt and get much more functionality from the unit. I've read a few topics and it's got a bit too techy at times with stuff. Whilst not an idiot, I'd rather not brick it! Is there a noob guide (European) and also one for updating the maps to include speed cameras? Many thanks.
  4. I just bought this for next to nothing for the girlfriends motor, however it has a really slow screen (when flipping in and out) I'm assuming the runners need greasing etc, anyone know if there is a guide to doing this please?
  5. But surely this has to be a software thing from pioneer? Could you not find a way to splice the firmwares together, to enable the P brake to work the same as non US units, but keep the settings (radio etc) that you guys need over there? Sorry if I'm being stupid here, was just trying to help!
  6. guys, I don't know what's going on here but here's my experience: I installed the appradio yesterday and out of interest I put the handbrake wire to an earth point just to see the routine. To my surprise, it worked, and continued to work even while driving! So, i thought I'd update to 2.45, just incase i no longer worked, but it still did. For your info, I'm thinking this must be a difference in the EU and USA firmware (I'm running the EU/UK version) although I don't know what other differences there would be, I'm guessing the radio for a start, we run different frequencies to
  7. Hi Guys, I've just installed the unit today into a lexus is, but even though i've put god know how many HU's in, I'm struggling with the wiring for the handbrake. Where would i find the power side? Most handbrakes i know are a simple 1 wire earth switch. What I'm actually asking is how to wire the push switch to bypass it? I'm assuming a simple push to make switch will do, but then I'm reading about having it grounded? Can someone explain the switch wiring in terms for a simple englishman? green/white - ? +12v - ? ground - ? (i think!)
