the issue hasn't happened again after the service but im damn sure waiting for that firmware update before my year warranty is up.

Sent out to service and no problems were found. SMH I put back in my trucka nd just waiting for it to happen again to get it swapped out at audio shop.

i sent out for service and ofcourse there was no problem found with the unit. So I just put it back in the truck today and we will see if it freezes. Im sure it will since they didnt fix anything but when it happens the audio shop is going to swap out with a new unit,.

I finally had the steering wheel controls removed and my HU still froze. I plan to send out to service. SMH

My screen was freezing to and when i called Pioneer the guy said it could be from the steering wheels controls being hook up. i just bypassed the steering wheels controls to make sure its not the radio and hopefully the car audio shop will find another replacement soon.

is anyone experiencing issues with the avh-p8400bh and the touch screen not respond to touch intermittently? this happens to me atleast once a week where i cannot change anything on touch screen no matter what source it is on. There isnt any specific way for me to make it happen. i can drive for 2 hours in the trucks and its fine. other times on way home from work (30 minute drive) it will freeze. The only fix so far has been to turn off my truck and back on and back to normal. i called pioneer and they asked if I had a wired remote (for steering wheels controls) which i do and they said

I have the 8400bh. When i use the advanced app mode i get the maps app from my iphone which works perfectly for me. there is also another app called extra mile that is free that will give you turn by turn direction. I chose the 8400 to still get the navi without paying the navi money. Plus its a 7in screen.

i had mine installed on Friday and had the same issue with the bypass. The install shop finally wired a switch with the parking brake bypass as a temporary fix until someone posts how to bypass correctly. Basically the radio boots up and i have a switch that I turn on every time I turn on vehicle and I can view video. Its works!
