  1. After hours trying to get the 140 to do more than play music, I attempted to try and run in app mode. I had no luck getting the android phone to go into app mode except that it wanted to play my music. I am trying to find a way to use a better nav program other than what is in the box, because so many streets are not marked (unless I actually put in a destination. I then downloaded app radio etc on the iPad and it successfully connected. I then ran Inrix and was amazed at the poor resolution on the screen of the nav. Very little could be read once the image was zoomed in at a reasonable level.
  2. Could someone please tell me if it is possible to use google maps and have it show on the HU's screen? If not that app, is there a different way to use an app on android phone that can push to the screen for Nav? Last night I was looking at Copilot and a couple of others but don't know if I can have them displayed on the z140. Txs.
  3. I have been reading on here but haven't found the answer. When I am driving along without setting a destination, even in my neighborhood (Philadelphia) I am shocked at how few street name actually come up. I might also mention that I have NEVER seen a 3d map showing buildings, even when I am downtown. Any ideas folks, or is this just the beast I must live with? PS Can I somehow push google navigator to the HU?
  4. I set up six channels on the radio and cannot find a way to move through them from the steering wheel interface. When I hit seek, it goes to the next channel (either analog or HD) but it will not move me through what I have locked in. Any suggestions, or is this what it is? So far, my review is mixed, but I will do a complete job after a few days.
  5. Thanks VBLUE. I only found one here that was in-depth and was about an install that had pretty good info (even though much of what it said was not that great). I have been scouring the net and haven't come up with much else. I will keep looking, although after Thursday, the die will be cast, so to speak, as I give up the Kenwood 6990 for the 140bh because the latter has voice control for the phone. This feature is a deal breaker for my wife. I have downloaded the pdf and interestingly enough, see little or no reference to the camera, access to it via screens (as with the Kenwood that has multi
  6. In anticipation of my install on Thursday, I have been scouring the net looking for reviews from new owners. I know the unit is new, but wondered if any of you found any comprehensive reviews other than the 1 I found on this forum. Thanks in advance. PS Does anyone with this unit know how to access the backup camera if not in reverse? My current Kenwood 6990 always presents a button to access. Doe this unit have something like that as well?
  7. Thanks so much for the reply. At the present, we both have Samsung/androids. Supposedly, this unit now plays nicely with them. With the Kenwood, we have had lots of trouble with the BT phone where the BT signal would come and go. This was especially evident with the use of Pandora. We are almost at the end of our verizon contract and may in fact, switch to the iPhone. On a scale of 1-5, how would you rate your "voice control" experience?
  8. Thanks for taking the time to give your response. It is of particular concern to me for the following reasons. I currently have the Kenwood 6990 installed and was dismayed to discover I couldn't use the steering wheel buttons to initiate a phone call. That feature is really important to my wife b/c she hates to take her eyes off the road to make a call. The PAC or whatever unit it is will not do that with this unit. So the nice guy at the install shop said the pioneer 140 can in fact do this with the steering wheel module and I can use voice control to do other things like search ipod music et
