Let me guess: The "hack file" was Condi's HackMode? So now the unit is screwed up.... welcome to the club.
Good luck getting the unit back in working condition.
-
Like shown in the movie, there's no "user" folder to look for the password file... where this file is placed then?
Impossible. The user folder is in the root directory. There has to be one or your unit will not work at all.

Do not remember, witch better?
I believe fat32
It's not a question of which is better, it's a question of support. The X930BT does not support NTFS so your media (SD card, USB stick, etc.) has to be FAT32.
-
I have AVIC-X930BT, I used 4gb micro SD card, After putting the SD card and power it up, It told me on the screen (This SD Card cannot be used on this device) wonder why??????
Was it formatted using FAT32?

Good! Condi will only brick your device if you don't know what you are doing.
You don't need condi for anything. You only need supertestmode key.
condi is a tool ONLY for tech savvy people to use to explore the capability of their units.
It has and will create a brick out of your unit.
Being an expert is irrelevant. Hackmode modifies your system file upon installation and that may brick your device regardless how good you know what you're doing. Unfortunately, the admin of this site doesn't give a shit.

Hi everyone, any way use this hackmode or just testmode on AVIC-F970bt/dab series (for password reset) ? No SD card slot on device, only 2 USB ports.
Don't know, but TESTMODE (not Hackmode) is harmless. It can't hurt to try.
-
mine only pulls up as enter password along with no allowable touch screen function I downloaded the hack to my 16gb SD card installed in unit and same thing.... avic-x9310bt
Pull the handbrake. This is a protection to prevent you from using the keyboard while driving.
-
At this point I would like to recommend everyone who wants to delete/rewrite the password to use the supertesmode!!
It's all you need and it's less trouble!!
I've been trying to get the destructive HackMode v2.21 deleted from this site ever since I've been here. There's a reason for that.
-
just wanted to confirm it works on the x930BT model as stated.
Thank you for your confirmation. We were really wondering if the previous 754 confirmations were real, but now, we know.
-
my avic-x9310bt won't let me type the password in, the letters are dimmed out, what can i do to type the password in and get it back to work again?
Pull the parking brake. The unit ensures the car is stopped before allowing you to use the keyboard.

You should have read http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/80807-moderators-please-remove-condis-hackmode-v221/first!
-
DO NOT download/install/use HackMode v2.2 as it might screw up your unit. Use TestMode v1.4 instead which doesn't mess with system files unless you force it to.
-
The purpose of this topic is not to talk about how to remove the hack, it's to completely remove the link to the hack or, at the very least, add a huge warning sign somewhere around it.
-
It is clear that this hack has caused many harm to units and the victims are the poor users who come here for help. I fail to understand what HackMode does that TestMode cannot do (other than screw up units files).
I've ask many times to add a HUGE RED WARNING above the download link to Hack v2.21 but it has never been done. The amount of damaged units keep growing and growing. I believe this hack is simply dangerous and should not be available on a site dedicated to help people.

I've been locked out of my AVIC-X850BT for 2weeks feels like forever all that shows up on myscreen when I turn my truck on is user hint PAPA I bought the truck used so I didn't set up the password what do I download for this model to let me use the damn thing!!!!! I don't care bout gps I just wanna at east be able to listen to music lol
Use this thread: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32929-x930bt-password-recovery/?p=240249
It should be the same procedure for the X850BT.
The procedure is harmless IF YOU USE TESTMODE v1.4. Do NOT use HackMode v2.21.
-
for F900BT it's ok ???
If you do it USING TESTMODE V1.4, no harm can be done trying.

I got a new battery today, this hack is not working for me avic-x930bt.
My password in the file somehow had 25 spaces at the end. When you enter the password, it does not permit a password entry that long. I copied the file to my sd card and edited it to "123456789" on my computer and then copied to the folder on the head unit, still invalid pw. I thought maybe it cached the old password so I disconnected the battery again and tried my new password, still invalid. Any ideas?
BTW i tried with and without an extra space at the end as some suggested.
I did the above with v2.2. After reading the warnings about not using that one, i switched to v1.4. I "dumped" the password file and it does now show my new 123456789 password. But it still says it's invalid, with or without a trailing space.
I guess tomorrow i can next try just deleting the password file alltogether
I also wonder how that password file works. I mean, one would expect that file to be read each time the password is required or, at least, each time the unit is booted, but apparently not. It's not the first time I see something like this.
I also find it odd that you were able to use 25 characters to set the password but not able to enter it back because it's considered too long.
-
I believe it disables the nag screen which is the warning that always asks you to click "OK" before showing the GPS.
-
Sorry, I don't know how to help you. Many people have damaged their unit because of this hack and I've requested many times that the administrators put a huge red blinking "DANGER" notice next to it, but they don't seem to care.
When I started to mess around the hacking my x930BT and saw what HackMode does, I didn't even try it because I knew how dangerous it was. Unfortunately, not everyone does.

Victim #3,428 of the horrible Hackmode 2.21. There's a thread on how to undo its damage. Search.
-
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
-
If there a USB key connected? If so, try to remove it and reboot the unit. The unit will sometimes wait for the USB key to respond before continuing, so if it's defective, it will freeze.
-
Hello. I followed the manual installation process in PRG0 condihack 1.4 folder does not work. have would to copy the same files in PRG1?
What?
Is your unit working properly?
- Yes: Leave it alone
- No: What's the issue?
-
I got to the last step and i deleted condihack from the SD root and now my avic is takin forever/not booting up at all. Is this normal or did i mess something up?
Just the fact that you installed CondiHack is bad enough. You don't need to do much else to screw up your unit.
Have you tried http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/36854-undo-condis-hack-mode/ ?
