  1. Where did you find the download to return to version 3.01. Is it as simple to go back to that version as it was to update to the z140 version?
  2. Check Pioneer's website. The link to buy the SD card with z140 update is there. The update comes with instructions for easy installation, including Blue Tooth update.
  3. Installed the SD card again, went to BT settings selected "firmware" and upgraded without a hitch. Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the BT firmware info. I'll put the SD card back in and give it a try.
  5. A quick question regarding navigating to bue tooth setup. Was the firmware upgrade on the SD card or an upgrade that you did from the unit itself?
  6. Better have your flame retardant suit on when you ask that question and have respect for the forum member that boasts of having a Smith and Wesson. Your question is addressed in another thread in the General category under the topic "New 2012 map upgrade available at Pioneer website!!!" Good luck.
  7. One final comment and then I'll shut-up. I went to the Pioneer map update link I did find the owner's manual and clicked on it. Lo' and behold, there was the manual for the Z140. It seems to me that Pioneer would have made the fact that this was an update to Z140 more obvious than finding out through clicking on the owner's manual. Anyway, Thanks for all the insights and I hope that I can be of assistance to others on the forum.
  8. Thanks for the link. That's where I ordered the map update. I guess an interpretation of what is contained there might be that the map update is really a Z130 to Z140 upgrade but I guess I mistakenly believed that upgrades like the Z110 to Z130 and Z130 to Z140 would be done through Pioneer. Guess I'll find out when the map update from Navteq arrives.
  9. I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here, Pioneer tech support told me that the map upgrade is not offered by Pioneer and is provided directly from Navteq so are you saying that Navteq is going to upgrade/alter Pioneer's Z130 software features via their map upgrade? There is zero indication that such is the case at Pioneer's website. BTW, What is "Page 18 Chapter 4" that you're referring to? Does Navteq send a manual with the SD card for the map? Maybe you're talking about the as yet nonexistent upgrade from Z130 to Z140 instead of the map only upgrade? If so, I understand that there is
  10. Thanks. That never would have occurred to me.
  11. My original question/point was whether there is any advantage in upgrading from z130 to z140 IF/WHEN it becomes available. I agree that it benefits us that Pioneer offers such upgrades and I was just trying to figure out what would make the upgrade worthwhile; especially in light of the fact that I am now able to install Navteq maps on my Z130. If Pioneer can convince me that the upgrade will do anything else beneficial for what I already have I'll definitely consider it.
  12. I didn't talk to anyone at Pioneer beyond tech support as to whether the map update was available directly from Pioneer. In a rather curt manner, the lady I talked to told me that this upgrade had nothing to do with Pioneer and that I had to get it from Navteq. She didn't mention anything about an upgrade of my z130 to z140; probably because there isn't one yet. The Navteq map update appears to be stand alone even though Pioneer shows it will work on the Z130.
