  1. Can you elaborate a little. I have an 03 Tahoe and I'm using the GMOS-04 with the stock radio ground. I have a noise, not to bad, but where did you go to ground and get rid of the noise. In the dash somewhere? Thanks.
  2. It is my understanding that even though there is an ill wire right there at the GMOS it has no functionality. I have a GMOS-04 in my Tahoe and i had to go over to the headlight switch to make my work.
  3. There are quite a few pictures of various silverado's on the forum. i am yet to see a titan or tacoma though.
  4. it is actually a "fuse resistor" i took mine apart. I have no idea what the rating for the resistance or fuse is. I am currently not using it. i have my reverse wire hook directly up to a 12 v source. It has been working flawlessly for many months, so i am going to go ahead and say you don't need it, but someone correct me if i am wrong.
  5. yep charging work fine, AlpineLegacy06 hit the nail on the head.
  6. i believe you need an adapter to make your rear seat DVD work, and as said earlier you will need the pioneer XM tuner, the D3 does not have one built in.
  7. So i am no genius here, but apple isn't totally interested in screwing us. us consumers do keep them in business after all. My thought on this is that its actually for the better. Did anyone notice that these new ipods output 480p through component cables now, and navigate faster. They obviously made hardware changes. What they are doing is forcing 3rd party accessory makers (i.e. Pioneer) to update there accessories and products to make our experience better. While it makes our lives harder for a few months as the companies catch up it will make the experience better for years to come.
  8. Do a search, a lot of people had the same question on that very popular truck. Anyway the ill. wire can be found at your headlight switch. Reverse wire can be found in newer harnesses or at one of the bcm plugs(very bottom of the driver side dash)
  9. You have both front and rear rca outputs connected to the gmos front and rear outputs, right? Some bose systems only use the front input, i thought mine was one of them, i had your problem, i fixed it by hooking up the rear, turns out mine requires both inputs, a lot of bose do to.
  10. 150 isn't bad. Best buy would probobly charge near 400 bucks for it.
  11. will there ever be an update for the avic or the bluetooth unit? or is that even possible? I may sell this cd-btb200 unit if it is that limited.
  12. So. I was in amazement yesterday when i saw a 2007 Mercedes S550 with its fancy navigation bluetooth nonsense pull my contact info right from my iPhone. Just connected the iPhone over bluetooth put in the pass-code. On the mercedes you push "phone address book". It says reading device and 5 seconds later BOOM, its all there. Why cant any of the AVIC's do this please tell. The iPhone doesn't have OPP so how is this possible?

  15. No!! You cant. Not untill Apple updates the phone to support syncing contacts to other devices, if they ever do. That is why I came up with the workaround. I know the phone is limited. I am trying to use a mac osx based laptop with Bluetooth and adress book to sync to a d3 like the original poster. Ok, that situation from the original poster almost has to be a unique occurrence to that situation only and with that phone only. I think that what he did is probably not even necessary with others using that phone, maybe firmware related or something with his phone. Nevertheless the

  17. That is for using a phone and using the 6 pre sets. I am trying to figure out if I can use address book with the D3 to do a full transfer names and all. Any one who has had sucess please help.
  18. Any iPod with a 30 pin dock connector will work just fine. This includes 3rd gen, 4th gen, 5th gen (video), as well as any iPod mini or iPod nano. The new iPhone also works flawlessly.
  19. Has anyone gotten this method to work on an AVIC-D3 with BTB-200? I tried using address book, and it connected and transfered and the D3 said complete, but when i go to the address book it is still blank. Any ideas?
  20. Is there any support for address book transfer or not?
  21. The recall is only due to the plastic case they are housed in. The case has a notch on the inside which can crack a resister on the circuit board.
  22. I know that the GMOS-04 has been talked about quite a bit, but i have a little input. I started the Install in my 2003 Chevy Tahoe with bose and onstar with a gmos-04 Version 2.3. I had nothing but problems : engine buzz, pops, hisses, the unit being muted randomly, and all other sorts of annoyances. Today i went on a mission to find a gmos-04 version 2.6. I found one at circuit city, wired it in, AND its perfect!!! Everything works flawlessly. So for anyoen with issues. Check your version and consider finding V 2.6. 2.6 is the newest version and its a far better product than previou
  23. I have a 2003 Tahoe with Bose. I am installing an AVIC-D3 and have all neccesary adapters (GMOS-04 mainly). Just a few quick questions. Can someone explain the VSS at the radio? I know there is a VSS in the engine compartment, but is there a VSS wire at the radio, and if so which is it? also, where is the best to pull 12V+ battery (how much current will all this stuff draw) and where is the easiest spot to tap reverse signal power? i am goin to install a 200W amp for a subwoofer. Can i just tap one of the fuse boxes or should i run from the battery? Thanks in advance!
  24. If you can get a D3 for 650 then you should be able to get a Z2 for arround 1500. Still a large gap. If you have an ipod the benefits are minmal but its up to you.
