  1. With the stereo off push and hold MUTE for 5 seconds. This will kill the demo mode. Must be done again whenever you reset the unit.
  2. If it is like the BH model, under Picture Adjustment. Brightness/Contrast/Dimmer can be set with the headlights on and off. This will give you two different settings.
  3. Unfortunately I have no idea if it is 12V or ground. Best way to find out is to measure it, if you have a meter. 1. Put the red lead from the meter on Yellow/Black and the black lead from the meter on the vehicle chassis. 2. Measure DC voltage. 3. If it is 0V, then it should be taken to 12VDC, if 12VDC then it should be taken to chassis ground. Either way you will need to make a connection at the brake switch. All brake systems I have worked on have 12VDC going to the brake and when you depress it the 12VDC goes to the brake lights. The latter is the wire you will have to identif
  4. Reading the manual again and again and again, I think I finally got the point. The mute/10db/20db options only come into play when the remote wire on the harness is used, NOT THE MUTE BUTTON ON THE DISPLAY. The mute wire is meant to be used by and external device, but if you wanted to hook up an external switch to it, don't see why it would not work.
  5. I believe it to be an input to mute the stereo entirely. As I thought for use with an external bluetooth device or other. Page 81 of the manual says if you use a device with a mute function then connect this, otherwise do not use it.
  6. Phoned Pioneer, they had never seen it before. Phone the shop and they were stumped also, but they did exchange it. All is fine now.
  7. Hey Duncan, Thanks for the info. I saw afterwards what you are talking about, and you are right. I definitely did not have the power for the antenna connected also. I found the electrical manual for the Kia Rondo online. Even after I did though, the same thing. I don't think the problem is with the antenna connection though. Even without it connected it should revert back to analog, which it appears to do but should I not at least get static? Also, Where you select the different bands of FM/AM at the top of the screen it is greyed out. And the band button on the remote does n
  8. Hi all, Noob here and hoping for some help. When I select the HDRadio function there is no sound. I know this is because I do not have the HD receiver which is fine, but how the heck can I get it to tune regular AM and FM. Reseting the stereo both ways does not help. And I can find no option to turn of the HD radio or select regular analog. Any help would be appreciated.
