Well after sending back my Z1 for the 3rd time to Pioneer, they finally agreed to send me a new unit and I had this installed and it is working flawlessly so far, (1 week). One very important thing to note, is the 3 headlight flash trick to disable unit locking certain functions does NOT WORK. Ducati Boy, I don't know what the deal is, but it may impact the unit you are selling.

Sending back for 4th time. Same problem, just hear the fan spinning, not boot screen, sound or anything.

Well my unit it back after 2 trips to Pioneer. The first time back I received 1 sheet of paper that said reset. Took it back to installer and it still didn't work. Also note, I shipped unit in it's original box and they kept the box so I dont' have that any longer. I received unit back again and all the repair sheet said was NTF. I'm guessing that means No Trouble Found. I took it back to the installer and he installed it and it worked. I am trying to figure out how to get map data for Mexico as I was going to go on camp/surf trip in Baja. I wonder how I could get that data?

I placed mine on the steering column and it is not good.

My mic is so bad. I had it mounted on teh steering column ( I have a an FJ Cruiser). About the only command it seems to recognize is Home, Back, and Cancel route. It's so bad, my kids have be hit it and say words to see what it recognizes. Funny in a sad sort of way considering how much the Z1 costs.

I had to send it to Pioneer twice and it's fixed. They had 5 business day turn around for each, but they returned the unit with a sheet and no explanation of what they did. At this point I just don't care and am happy to have the unit back.

I've been using my AVIC-Z1 for about 1.5 months with back up camera, ipod controller, and have Bluetooth on order. I had it professionally installed and yesterday I hopped in the car (Toyota FJ Cruiser) which is parked in the garage and the head unit it dead. javascript:emoticon(':(') Sad No lights, nada. I tried the reset button...nothing. I called Pioneer support and they suggested have installer remove power for 20 minutes to see if it will reset and that did nothing. The installer checked for power and everything is hot. So now I'm having to pay for shipping to Pioneer and they say

Just switch to driver view which is in 3d.

Yes, it's in the manual page 45. Press Menu button while in nav, then touch map to display map menu, then touch 'displayed info' you will see twin view 2d/3d as an example. You can make changes here.
