  1. Hi! We have a avic x9310bt in our 2012 Subaru Legacy Limited. The unit came with 2011 maps, which I updated in August 2012 with the update from Navteq. Thinking that it must be time for the updated 2013 maps I was browsing through the Navteq site, when I came across the 'Subaru Map Update Toolbox'. It's a free utility that one installs on their PC and when you connect it (PC to the nav unit) it supposedly shows what updates are available. There are others for other brands as well as a generic one from Navteq. It downloaded quickly and installed without issue. Has anyone used this?
  2. Hi! Was your car bumped? Just before last New Years we were parking. The car at the curb in front of friends. When a car slid sideways around the corner near their house and bumped the front of our car. Not much visible damage to our car. But our GPS acted up. The GPS prior to the accident worked flawlessly. The insurance paid for a service call for the GPS. According to the dealer they 'reset' it. That seemed to fix the problem. Prior to the resetting the GPS had us a few streets over. Thanks
  3. Hi again! I installed a new version of AppRadio (v 2.1) last night. Still no luck! Given the small change in the version number, this must be just a small incremental change. So this says to me that AppRadio must be working on some machines .... otherwise there would be a more substantial change. Does anyone out there have AppRadio working on 930 or 940 type headunit via a iphone 4s (ios 6x)? I read on another thread here that there is a update coming in the spring to get this working on 950's .... so hopefully this will help me, and others in the same position out. Thanks
  4. OK. I read in another thread (about the 950 not working in App mode) a posting by SXRXNRR, that AppRadio had to be running prior to connecting. I wasn't doing that, so I've done that. And still nothing. Thinking that I put in a wrong setting somewhere, I did a 'Restore System Setting'. Nope still nothing. I can hear music playing from the ipod, but no visual indication of anything on the headunit. At startup the unit displays 'Pioneer' versus 'Subaru', and I lost my iphone registration which was easily setup but other than that no change. AVI= ipod App Mode = wired iphone 4s ios 6.1.
  5. Hi again! Thinking that maybe I got unlucky and that there was just a bad install on AppRadio and its compatible apps on my iphone 4s. I deleted them off the 4s and re-installed. No they still don't work, still just the line of icons down the right side of the Pioneer screen. However, I did note that while the AppRadio thing isn't working. 'Aha' is working fine though it take a reeeeaallly long time for the menus to load with their POIs. Does anyone know if Aha uses bluetooth or the Pioneer cable to load from the Apple? Also the compatible app 'Aupeo' works. I say works in the sense th
  6. Hi! A follow up. I went and purchased the CD-IU51V cable. While I cannot tell you if electrically if it's different. I can tell you that visually it is different from the one supplied by Subaru with the x9310bt unit. There is a cover for the iphone connector on the 51V cable versus none on the Subaru one. Also the wire that leads down to the usb cable is noticeably larger on the 51V cable as oppossed to the Subaru one. However when plugged in the same thing happens. The Pioneer screen ends up with a row of small icons along the right hand side and nothing else on the head unit. Does any
  7. Hi! When we purchased our 2012 Subaru Legacy last August it came with a factory installed x9310bt. Wonderful unit it works great (gps, audio, bluetooth phone an audio). Shortly after purchase I installed the 2012 map upgrade from Navteq. No problem with that either. So I guess now with the update we have a x940 type of system. However, for the life of me I can't get the AppRadio thing to work. I have a iphone 4s, and connect it to the cable that came with the car. The cable was sealed in with the warranty, car manuals etc so I'm pretty sure it's from Subaru. I've checked with Subaru about
  8. Hi!! I have the 9310. It came with our 2012 Subaru Legacy. Did the 2012 map update. Which was easy. The update upgraded our firmware to 4.000 .Works great. Sounds great. However ... A couple of weeks ago I got a iphone 4s (IOS6) through work. Our car came with the Pioneer cable. The cable is plugged into the usb slot and the little stereo plug is plugged in as well. When I attach the iphone to the pioneer cable, the battery charging screen appears immediately on the iphone. Bluetooth audio works fine. Making and receiving calls; no problem. However, for the life of me I can'
  9. Hi! We received our black knob today. It was easily installed and looks great. Worth every penny. Thanks

    2012 Maps

No. Seems the same, but better. BTW; our nav unit is a x9310bt, so a 930 not a 910. Still haven't got the android thing to work with our Galaxy S1 & S2 phones. The rest is great. Thanks
  11. Hi! I had our 2012 Subaru Legacy serviced today. When I mentioned about our x9310bt's randomly changing FM radio stations and CD music tracks to the check-in guy at the service counter he knew about that problem. He said that they had to put in a capacitor pack. According to my service invoice, the TSB# is ST.15.01.12 . They installed a #SE1039 Capacitor , There was no charge. So we'll have to see if this cured it. Anyway, FYI. Thanks
  12. Hi! We just sent a payment for one of your black knobs for our x9310bt. The stock one is just too small. And looking at the posted pictures, the new larger one will look just better. Looking forward!! Thanks
  13. Hi! Our nav unit is a x9310bt. I've done the 2012 map update. I understand that after the update the x9310bt is supposed to act like a x940bt. It should be able to use AHA on a Android smartphone. For the life of me I can't get this to work!! The hands free phone part works great. Can select a contact from the phone, make calls etc. No problem with the sound quality either. Thought maybe the problem with getting AHA to work for me might be due to the bluetooth drivers. Our phones (Samsung Galaxy S1 & S2) were paired prior to the map update, so maybe any new map updates loaded n

    2012 Maps

Hi! We've had the 2012 map update (new maps) going for our x9310 for a week. We have noted that there is more detail in the maps for our area (Halifax Nova Scotia Canada). Paths, roads, rail lines ... all more detail. Way more shading too. Haven't got the blue tooth audio to work yet, the phone works fine. Certainly worth the money for us. Thanks

    2012 Maps

Hi! I updated the maps today in our x9310bt. The process wasn't near as bad as was described in the instruction guide. Nor did it take as long. The instruction guide described how it would take 3 hours to do the install & update. Nonsense! From start to finish, maybe it was 25 minutes. After the updates the Version number changed from 3.00 to 4.00 . Haven't noticed anything else yet. (its only been an hour.) Also, when you get the password, Pioneer states how getting the password you can only do once, and that the nav nunit and the media are linked together. So copying

    2012 Maps

Hi Sargasso! 30-49 minutes, that's a relief. Did you connect your car to a charger .... or just put the ignition in 'ACC' and do the update? Thanks

    2012 Maps

Hi! Good question! I haven't done our update yet either. I did see the comment about 3 hrs, and that you should connect the battery to a charger. Was Sargasso's or your nav unit the 9310bt? Thanks
  18. Hi Bob_00! We had our 2012 Legacy for about 3 weeks. We have the same random changing of tracks or stations as well. They'd be a 'beep' then the change. We have have attributed this us touching the steering wheel controls. ie: our fault. So its interesting to hear that this may not be the case.... We'll have to watch more closely. Thanks

    2012 Maps

Hi! We received the SD card today. Not bad really, ordered last Thursday the 30th and received it today the 4th. Over a holiday and over a border (to Canada). Cost $120US + $30US for cross border courier (Fed-X). They even had the Country of Origin form completed for customs. So the envelope cleared customs without even having to see the border customs people. Now there is a bonus! You need the Device # from your Service Information Screen on the Pioneer, and the SD card came with the Media #. With that you just have to go to 'pioneernavigationupdate.ca (for Canada, probably .com for

    2012 Maps

Hi! I've ordered the 2012 map updates for our x9310bt. It should be here next week. Will ours be a 940 as well? Is a 940 better (than a 9310)? Also, we have seen our car radio units that handle more than one BT phone at the same time. The 9310 doesn't now. Will the update let us have more than one BT phone connected at the same time? Irregardless its still a lovely unit - our first built in. Thanks Thanks

    2012 Maps

Hi! We have a x9310bt in our 2012 Legacy. The car was built sometime in 2011, so I would think that the maps are 2011 at the latest. Is there away to tell what the year of the maps are? I remember on my Garmins it wasn't this tough to figure it out. There are 2012 maps for our unit available. See this link: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/Map-Upgrades/NAVTEQ+2012+Map+Upgrade+for+AVIC-Z130BT,+AVIC-X930BT,+and+AVIC-X9310BT According the the manual it takes about 3 hours to install. Have you done the update? Did it take that long? Did you have to connect a cha
