  1. I was wondering about this for my Z3 as well. Looks like manually doing it is the easiest/only way. My D3 could do it easily...I guess the Z3 can't do it because the mapping software is the same as the older Z series?
  2. So I have my Z3 installed and my P920XM installed as well. Everything works, I've got my subscription to XM and I can listen to all the channels. I got curious and went into my hardware info and there's nothing listed under my XM status. I guess it doesn't really matter, but I would really like to have my radio code easily accessible if I need it for something. Anyone else notice this on their Z series? Thanks, Jeff
  3. I think I may give up my D3 for this... Can anyone confirm whether or not you can search POIs by name, and then sort them by distance to travel? Thanks! Jeff
  4. For the longest time my gf's house never showed up on my D3, then I realized that it was because it was TECHNICALLY in a different city. If you're narrowing by city first, I would check with Google Maps or something to make sure it's in the city it should be in. Other than that...the way I do address searches is: 1. "Address Search" 2. When the house number screen comes up...just hit "OK" 3. Enter the city. 4. Enter the street name (and select the street from the list) 5. Enter the house number. I've found that entering the house number first yields less than desirable results
  5. **This is regarding an AVIC-D3** I find it a little irritating that when I do a POI Search I can't get the results to sort by distance-to-travel. I know you can do a Vicinity Search but then you can't enter a name/keyword to search by. Is this just a limitation? Thanks, Jeff
  6. Nice I have the D3 in my 2000 Accord. And I have the same shifter...only with a shift boot and a TSX perforated leather shifter. +1 for Acura parts in a Honda!
  7. hmm..i considered that...but i guess i was hoping my car wasn't messed up..hah
  8. The AVIC went in after the tire change. Here are the sizes: Old: 205/65/15 New: 225/45/17 According to those online tire calculators (like http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalcul ... &reset=yes), the over rim+tire diameter isn't much different. If I remember correctly I even did a reset on the AVIC after I hooked up the VSS wire.
  9. I have the VSS wire hooked up on my car (correctly according to resources found on this site), but I think the speed that the D3 reports is incorrect. I have different size wheels on my car than stock, but according to all the tire size calculators I can find online, there should be a 2% difference in actual speed. So when I'm going 60mph, the speedometer should say ~61-62mph, but when the speedometer says 61-62mph, the AVIC says that I'm going about 55mph. I don't know what my real speed is anymore =[. Is there any way to calibrate the speed on the AVIC (I don't know how that would work..
  10. blegh...i say that's crap on pioneer's part. i hate when people can't support their own products...and it's not even a cheap aftermarket company or anything...
  11. For any of those who didn't already...I would suggest hooking up your VSS wire. I saw a big improvement with the final "____ turn ahead" notification after hooking up the VSS wire. It keeps getting better as the unit continues to learn the more you drive. As for the calibration...I knew about the "modify location" option...but do you suggest using that supplied stylus to do it? My finger is too fat to accurately set the location =/. Oh...and is there ANY way to get a QWERTY layout for the keyboard?
  12. i'm pretty annoyed by the fact that i can't sort by distance...sometimes i like to know which one is closer to me without having to load it on the map and look @ the dist. to destination.
  13. Just to follow up, I hooked up the VSS wire in my car to the D3, and now it seems like the map is a little off. On screen, it shows me passing an intersection about 20-30 feet after I actually pass it...maybe the tip of the arrow is supposed to be the middle of my car? I'm not sure, but the navigation turn notifications have gotten better...I'm not whipping 40mph turns anymore =P
  14. When I installed my D3, I connected the orange/white wire from the vehicle harness to the orange/white wire on the AVIC harness. The dimming on the AVIC works fine except that if I have my guage lights in the car turned all the way up...the AVIC won't dim. So currently I have my guage light knob turned down a little bit so that when I turn on my lights, the AVIC will dim. I would like the AVIC to dim when my lights are on regardless of how bright my guage lights are, so I need some help with those of you who have experience/knowledge in regards to the illumination and dimmer wiring.
