  1. Have not really heard or researched much on the Z2... It have an internal HD like that or something? OR allow attachments of external HD?
  2. Right now i'm working on putting an external HD to the D3 through an XBOX 360. Wonder if there is a way to point where it looks for the NAV, and then it point through the XBOX360 to the HD and have all the info stored on there? Just a thought... Probably wont work
  3. I just started reading a little about pure sine wave inverters... and your idea seems to be a good idea from what they describe... Any ideas on locations to buy these? Good deals?
  4. Not heard of these pure sine wave inverters before. What are the differences, and where can these be found?
  5. Also, in another comment... after re-reading... A capacitor, to my understanding, kind of holds a charge and then allows for current to pass through to your amp. In times of HIGH DRAW from your amp... headlights, dome lights, neons, etc... generally fade or dim. Capacitors will store this extra "power" for these times of high draw, and instead of draining down the battery and making the alternator work harder to charge your battery and power the headlights, etc... It will take that draw from the capacitor... Then your headlights stay lit. I have seen a 1 farad capacitor control this be
  6. This 4 gauge wire, will also bring current from current battery to rear battery. This will power my system (when upgraded) and act as a capacitor for my system as well as power the inverter (powering XBOX360, and External HD), and then split off onto all the video panels, and neons that will be in the back. I doubt i should go any less than 4 gauge on going from one battery to another... A. more can never hurt when it comes to wiring... less, can! B. The standard on battery posts look like a tad bit smaller than 4 gauge... so i would rather go to 4 gauge to be safe. The battery states i
  7. Well, I have been given a few ideas to fix this issue. Some say placing the inverter so close down the line to the alternator and engine may cause this to occur. And they advised getting 4 gauge cable... running it from POSITIVE post to rear of vehicle. Then connecting it to the positive terminal of a Kinetik battery (100 farad battery). Then running the inverter off of this battery. The in-line connection will allow the Kinetik battery to recharge, while also powering the XBOX 360 through the inverter BEHIND an additional battery. This hopefully will detour the noise coming from the al
  8. the inverters I have used were both... A. Cigarette lighter B. Battery hook-up Both converting to hook up the XBOX 360 directly. Both creating static in the sound (not the video though)
  9. Well, its a possibility I will want to do this anyway...> However, not sure exactly how to go about doing that. Dont they sell harnesses to add onto the batter to wire additional components? Ideas on this would be GREATLY appreciated. Another idea, they have some isolators to ground out inverters I hear. Have no idea where to find them, or if they really work... anybody heard of these?
  10. Well, taking tillithz's advice... I did not connect any grounds yet. I dont think its a problem with the unit after what was done, or a problem with the XBOX. With the idea from tillithz, I decided to plug the XBOX 360 into an oulet in the garage, and then connect it to the AVIC-N3. This was extremly successful! I put in Tiger Woods '07... and it was so peaceful! And the birds chirping sounded so real w/o any background noise! And when you hit the ball from the tee... the subs POUNDED on ball contact! It was really a beautiful sound... ... Needless to say it's not the AVIC N3, a
  11. I might add, this is only to STREAM music and movies through the XBOX into the AVIC N3. You cannot SAVE GAMES onto this HD. I plan on doing the task you mentioned to increase HD space at a later time.
  12. Ahhh! Yes, I hope to get a sticky for this, as it took me FOREVER to figure it out! Its actually a long strenuous task, but well worth it. This way you can play any song, any band, and movie, any game... and NEVER have to take the NAVDISK out. I bought a USB interfaced 500 GB HD Formatted it to mac filesystem Downloaded a Windows to MAC file transfer software So now I have my XBOX360 (which IRONICALLY reads the mac filesystem!!! This is for IPODS, is my assumption) connected to a 500 GB external HD (formatted to HCS+?). Then transfered all my mp3's, movies, and pictures to the ext
  13. I heard actually right after my post, its possible with the Avic's that the Alternate INPUTS are not properly grounded. I was told an effective solution would be to solder a small gauge wire to the outputs (possibly just audio) to a groundable source. Just enough to ground the audio inputs from the XBOX360 to the AVICN3. Before I attempt this, any ideas on this being legit, or any other ideas to solve this issue?
  14. I just recently hooked up my XBOX 360 in my truck to my Avic N3. It works, and picture looks pretty good (kinda small though). The problem that I am having is with the sound. Any kind of sound whether it be Movies, Games, or Music... it creates a static noise that is rather annoying, and definatly takes away from the effects of the subwoofers in the back pounding your chest in HALO as you are shooting and blowing things up! lol Anybody have any ideas?
  15. Thank you for your reply, however if you read more carefully... it stated the N3 imparticular. I do not have a D3, so I probably should not follow the advice given as it may be different for the N3.
  16. Yeah... It says, "RW DVD+R DL" So i dont understand what i'm doing wrong... here's the procedure i'm taking... I sent you PM not sure if it came through... _____________________________________________________________ I just saw you had the Avic N3 as well... I was trying to figure out if this boot screen would work for the N series as well, since most are talking about the D series Avic's. So you had most luck with Verbatim DVD+R DL I see... I used Memorex DVD+R DL and burned at 2.4x to stay slow as recommended. I'll have to try Verbatim dvd's. But you definatly got the boot scre
  17. Let me clarify, due to some PM's that I may have had, I may have been confusing on the question. I know that on the Avic-N3, that you can just put a cd-r in, and upload the JPG's to replace the background picture, however... I know there are ways of editing the cd, and changing the OPENBG2.JPG file. And then using that as your NAV cd, and have a different loading screen other than that Pioneer one. If you could let me know if thats possible on the N3 as well, i'd greatly appreciate it.
  18. Alot of these instructions are for the Avic D series... have not really seen anything specific to the N series (Imparticular, the Avic - N3). Is the process the same for the N3? or are there different steps in doing this? I have attempted to follow the steps provided, and have gotten "incorrect disc format" or something of that nature. I went ahead, and booted up with the correct NAV dvd's... and then replaced with my burned copy... and attempted to change BG pics, and it states "cannot find /bg/ folder" There has to be something wrong in my steps... I'll try a different route... if
  19. No PUN intended on the "Electrical - Ground"... lol
  20. Well, unfortunatly... I got an XBOX 360... Not sure that runs on the same ground..
  21. I was having such a hard time getting a paperclip to push it over... mostly due to my impatience.. Its really wierd how this works, but I removed my deck from the brain and attempted the switch flip without it connected. I put it all back together... and video worked great going up to 70 down the street. So i went back to my house, put the dash all back together, and flaunted the new system setup and showed friends... The only thing I noticed awkward was the GPS was in NY, NY... Funny, how I live in Indianapolis, IN? After awhile it had time to calibrate, but immediatly after calibratio
  22. I doubt it, but if you find one... you be sure to let me know!
  23. Anybody got n e thing for an Xtreme Blazer?
