  1. Oh, does the F series charge the iPhone 3g and 3gs natively now? I remember my first gen iphone charged fine on my D3 but when I got the 3g, it wasn't supported anymore.. is this fixed?
  2. I had a Avic-D3 for about 2 years and loved it.. except for having to swap Navi discs and movies back and forth :/ I realize the F900/F90 series don't have that problem anymore with the built-in memory for maps. I also like the built in BT over the D3 external option. My main concern is.. is there anything compelling about the newer 09 series of Navigation units that will me make me say "Darn, I should have waited!" ??? Thanks, Jay
  3. Anybody know where I can download the older version that allows video playback to work? I was wondering why I was once able to watch video on the D3 but then it stopped.. looked at my firmware and noticed I did upgrade it.
  4. I hooked up the VSS wire over the weekend and saw zero difference in the performance of the GPS.. it's still a bit late on turns for me. It's "good enough" though.. Maybe there will be some kind of firmware update in the future for D3 owners.
  5. Well i'd pick up a remote for $15 if they are that cheap now.. could you PM me with that info? Thanks.
  6. Because I usually have my GPS screen up while i'm listening to the radio and when you press the next button (hard key) I want it to go to my next preset, not the next .2hz in radio signal.
  7. Whenever I press the Forward/Next or Reverse/Back buttons when i'm listening to the radio I'd like them to advance to my next preset station, not the next .2 in the frequency of the station. Does that make sense? Say my #1 preset is 95.1 and my #2 preset is 97.9. If i'm currently listening to my #1 preset which is 95.1 and I press the forward button, it goes to 95.3 instead of my #2 preset. Is there an option to change the way it acts or is it stuck being retarded? Big oversight with Pioneer if they didn't implement this. Thanks, Jay
  8. Last time I attempted to go into the vehicle dynamics display screen, it said it was unavailable.. but i'll try again.
  9. Well you were right cntrylvr79, upon inspection again, I realized the white harness was not plugged into the back of the D3 all the way.. that sucker is a bit hard to snap in if you're not holding the unit properly So now everything works great and no more nagging about the parking brake wire! Thanks for having me check it out again! Jay
  10. Well I haven't hooked up my VSS wire yet and navigation seems "good enough" to me.. although I can't find ANYWHERE on the screen where it displays my current speed.. I assume that it will pop up when I connect the VSS wire? Maybe not.. or perhaps I just don't have the right screen up or info up on the screen. The only thing that has bothered me with the navigation is that the tip of the arrow that signifies your location is where I am, not in the middle of the arrow like i'm used to seeing on Garmins or Tomtoms.. Maybe hooking up the VSS wire fixes this and makes it feel like i'm in the m
  11. I think it's silly the D3 needs to tap into the VSS to obtain speed of the car...when every other GPS unit i've toyed with is able to obtain speed nearly instantaneously by tracking your location. This is the first GPS device i've seen that needs to tap into a speed sensor wire to get it. It's a really simple calculation.. I have no idea why they chose this route. Jay
  12. Okay I'll check the connections and do the reset thing.. but other than that, does it sound like I grounded the proper wires? What about the nagging about the parking brake wire the D3 complains about? Any fix?
  13. I installed the D3 last night into my Scion tC and performed the bypass with the mute wire in the white harness and grounded that wire to the chassis of the car. Next I grounded the green parking brake wire on the black harness to the headunit ground wire coming from the factory harness. The black ground with the spade connector was also grounded to the chassis of the car. I went for a test drive and everything appeared operational with the bypass.. I was able to watch a dvd while casually driving around, didn't get a chance to get up some speed to make sure it worked... Then tod
