  1. The manufacture date is on the unit and on the box. as far as i know there is no difference in manufacture date as to weather it works or not. if you look at the post on page nine of this review by Crusader he claims that.... ..."OK - you monkeys all realize that Pioneer performed a specification change that prevents the "mute wire bypass" from working on the later machines ... right? I'm an installer. I've been doing this work for 20+ years, so I kinda know what I'm talking about. When these Pio HDU's were initially released, the bypass worked perfectly. A few months down the road, we starte
  2. did this just as post shows and works like a charm(mfd april 2007) The d3 is an amazing unit for the money, it sounds 100 times better to me then my old alpine 9855.Never could get the alpine to sound the way i like. I love this units combination of features.maybe pioneer will release an add on hd tuner hehehe. thnxs for the excelent post and to others here who have helped with my questions.
  3. MOD EDIT: Fixed your post. Thxs doom! i am doing the mod tonight ill post my results soon. Hopefully it will be good hehe!
  4. I must say I didnt realize it was until i went to install it and took a better look at what was in the small brown box. The unit itself looked to be in untouched condition which was my original concern at the store. As far as why i didnt know is because this is my first indash nav unit so even though i read this forum and others post before hand I didnt realize how much extra wiring, etc. would be in the box. The point was that I had no idea it was opened or more like used because they didnt say it,write it or anything else. That was my point, new customer= get screwed alot of times and thats n
  5. The best way to get the best deal is to find a good local shop that carries the brands you like to use,buy something at a fair market price a few times from them then you will see the prices start to fall. Ive been dealing with hifibuys of nashville(no its not tweeters hehe)now for 20 years and i get stuff really cheap. loalty will save you a lot in the long run. I wanted to get d3 but although they are pioneer dealer they dont stock the d3.well i wanted my d3 now(duh i shoulda known better)so i went to my local electronics express store and talked the guy into a 100 off the asking price they

This one was manufactured date of April 2007.i saw alot of peeps list a date of march 2007. my real question is has anyone else got an april 2007 unit that they have bypassed ? and did it work?
